Well, having decided to return to biking after more years than I care to mention, it seemed rude not to start a RU-vid channel to mark the occasion. It'll just be me, my thoughts, my bike (currently a Triumph Bonneville T120 Black) and anyone else who happens to get in the way :)

Yeh rear suspension is verh bad i put ohlins and oh wow changed the bike put ohlins damper it falls in like perfect now i just need to fine £2,800 for the front.
Great bike, and wonderful customization! I was wondering what you did for the rear end lights? I believe your using the OEM lights, but are you using an undertray to hold them? Cheers man
5 years on and still a worthwhile review. Thanks for it! Question if you would be so kind: Does the flyscreen impact much more than appearance? Like does it actually help with wind blast or repel flies? Sustained speeds >90MPH the windblast gets tiring so I'm considering one if it would help.
Very good question. In fact, I’ve had a succession of other bikes (a Triumph Tiger, a Harley Davidson, Sport Glide, and now a Bonneville T120), but I’ve been suffering a chronic health issue which has had an impact on my ability to get out and make videos. I’m hoping that will change by the summer.
@@GuyOnaBikeMotovlog thanks for getting back to me. I'm thinking of getting one of these and I've currently got a Street Triple but like you it doesn't suit my riding character. Do you still have yours? Any issues at all?
@@eliteengineerdaz The Speed Twin is a lot closer to the R9T than the T120 is in terms of performance and sportiness I'd definitely be taking both out for a serious test, although I'd probably be predisposed towards the ST given that I'm a bit of a triumph fanboy. You can't go wrong with either, though, IMO.
As mentioned, I found them very comfortable up to about 1.5 hours then a break is needed. They're certainly easier with some wind blast to take some of the weight off the wrists.
Hi mate I’m thinking about one of these but my R9T is euro5, their website says it’s compatible. My question please is, did you notice any loss in power/performance when you swapped over from the stock slipon?

I'll tell you, since I got my 2005 t100, a few years ago, I've been watching many triumph ride alongs. And I am impressed that y'all ride in the conditions u do. Below freezing, wettish roads in below freezing air. Y'all have guts. I have to ride a good half hour, to find the kind of small town roads you all ride on, on your outings. When I learned to ride, there were no tests or schools. And if you wanted a motor license, you pay an additional 7 bucks on your vehicle drivers license and you're in. Nice pleasant peaceful ride. To be honest, Peter, these roads aren't exactly adjacent for me either, so I get you. As for riding all year, generally yes (as long as it's not pissing down) but the cold snap we had recently kept bikes off the road for a while. Winter is fine as long as it's not icy (although I know loads of fair-weather bikers who'd disagree with me), it just means layering up properly
I always love hearing those little back pressure pops on deceleration . Another reviewer was commenting on the newer RS not popping like the older ones. And I cried. But I see why now. You have some shorter slip-ons. That'll do it all right. Really does look sweet. I have a 2005 t100, so it has 0 fancy electronics. But I'm okay with it. They do look nice though. Take care ✌️

It’s interesting to watch your review of this bike and then listen to your observations on the Thruxton R that you later replaced it with. Ergonomics are one of those things that you tell yourself won’t matter much, but after a time, they’re ALL that matters. I just bought a 2017 Thruxton R and it came down to a choice between that, and the R9T Racer, which is gorgeous to look at. Simply stunning. However, there were not-so-quiet rumblings about the seat and the reach to the bars.. 25 year old me would have said it was worth it for a bike that looked that good. 48 year old me tamped down that irrational exuberance and went with the Triumph. I still think the BMW is a looker. But I feared I’d pay thousands for something that I just “looked at” because my rear end couldn’t stand to be on it for long periods of time. It stinks to get older and get all practical. 😄
I'm with you 100%, and it was weird that - whilst the TTR has a more aggressive stance - I immediately found it more comfortable (for me, at least) than the R9T. In your case, of course, you were pitting it against a model that was always considered to be inherently uncomfortable. I should probably add that I've just gone the whole hog (excuse the pun) and now have a Harley-Davidson Sport Glide. It's literally all-day comfortable, and is an absolute torque monster. Which reminds me, I need to start posting again!
@@runeluqman unfortunately that bike fell through and I never found another one I liked. I ended up with a 2017 Kawasaki Z1000SX. Good bike, did about 6k miles on it but could never get comfortable. Now got a '24 BMW F900R and it's brilliant! Agile as the 675 but not as hyper, engine not as good as the triple, which is the best engine around in my opinion, but it's really comfortable, good looking, lots of tech and great fun. Take a look at one of these, you'll be surprised.
I bought a 2017 Thruxton R a couple of months ago. 3000 miles on the clock and basically new in all respects. Just love the thing. It runs and handles beautifully.
Thank you. So far as I can ascertain it was one of the few (like, half a dozen) that left the factory in that colour. It was quite hard to get a definitive answer on it, though.
I love mine I agree abt the rear brake I had a longer connecting rod made to lift the pedal it’s lots better now I use It when I can and my zx10r on the silly days
I'd have loved to, but I live in an area that wouldn't do it justice, and it wouldn't really be the ideal choice for filtering through London traffic. I'm actually on a Triumph Tiger now, so need to get posting some new content!
@@GuyOnaBikeMotovlog you really get through some bikes. I’m keen as keen on the Diavel which I hope to get in a year or so. Enjoy your Triumph Tiger. I’m sure it’s better down those green lanes, but I don’t know it’d be as exciting to ride as the 1260s

Thumbs up for a beautiful machine! Interestingly I am waiting for delivery of RNineT (2022) having been an ex Speed Twin owner. For me the R9T wins because of character or Boxer (is feels so special) and NO CHAIN!
It's certainly a pretty bike, prettier than the new RS version. I test rode one back in 2017. Spent a day riding around Lincolnshire and Rutland. Very nice bike. Along with the Speedmaster I think they are both Triumph's two prettiest bikes. Yours certainly has some good upgrades.
did u also replace the flapper valve? i got an eliminator for my 2021 pure but it looks like the valve in the later models is a part of the pipe and cant be removed
Yes, I agree with you about the weight - luckily I could paddle it backwards and forwards, which saved having to push it. But it's no lightweight, for sure.
