@@user-of2up2iw9n Thank you. That was the look I was going for. They had stripes on the figures but I just painted over them in the sky blue. Don't know why companies always seem to have the stripes on the figures when it isn't accurate. Even most Hollywood cavalry movies don't have yellow stripes on the troopers.
@@marklinnane1744 John Wayne's cavalry is hard to die..or perhaps companies' researchers all think the indian term "yellow legs" denoted every cavalryman and not just nco and officers
Very nicely done figures. They would go well with Airfix 7th Cavalry. Thats the first I've seen of this item. I don't even have the Airfix 7th Cavalry. Im struggling to find any of those here in Australia. Most of the Airfix Cavalry ive seen only in US , Canada and UK but mostly in US. The cost is high especially for a complete set. That's the Airfix i speak about. Love your figures and the different coloured painted doubles. It gives a sence of unique individual soldier. I missed the brand you have there. I'll check that out again. Those look great.👍🇭🇲🦘🐨✌️
To add diversity to the figures, it could be also possible to swap heads and modify some arms' poses. Finally some producers that doesn't give to Indian wars' soldiers the sabres, that generally weren't carried on campaign.
Thank you,no problem 👍. Was going for that ununiformed look with the figures like yourself with the different colour shirts and you inspired me to have a go at a checkered shirt. Set 2 will be my next video.
Thank you very much 👍. I paint usually about 1- 2hrs per night most nights. I paint 2 figures at a time which takes me about a week. So it took me 6 -7 weeks to paint that set.
GREAT JOB AS ALWAYS SIR,THE SECOND CUSTER COULD BE HIS BROTHER,TOM.CUSTER USED BRITISH WEBLEY 442 CALIBER AT THE LITTLE BIG HORN BATTLE.PEOPLE FORGET THAT CUSTER'S MENS WERE IN THE FIELD FOR ABOUTS SEVEN WEEKS BEFORE THE BATTLE.THEIR UNIFORMS WERE WELL WORN OUT AND MIXED WITH CIVILIAN BOUGHT CLOTHES AND HATS FOR THE HOT SUMMER CAMPAIGN.THESE FIGURES WOULD FIT WELL WITH AIRFIX AND BRITIANS.YOU SHOULD TRY TO FIND SOME BMC TOY 7 TH.CAV.FIGURES FROM THE 90S.TAKE CARE.
@@marklinnane1744 I LUCKY,I GOT THE ONE THAT CAME WITH ARROWS THAT WENT IN TO THE TROOPERS.THAT BEFORE THE P C POLICE MADE THEM STOP IT.HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND SIR.
@@marklinnane1744 No problem. I also use Citadel Night Lords Blue for the shirts. I use those two paints for my figures to give them the "classic" look!
do you know why these figures can't be used for a little big horn diorama ? because Custer decided not to bring sabers for this mission as they will make to much noise and will help their enemies to spot them.
Yes the mortar and the mills bomb came later, so I omitted them from my project, the retreat ftom Mons 1914. I used HaT figures as well, very nice sculpts. I also used British infantry carved down to use as early war highlanders with kilts. For the Germans I used a mixture of HaT and Strelets, horse foot and artillery.
@@marklinnane1744 thanks Mark, unfortunately not very good camera work. I am working on the second Boer war at the moment, again in 1/72. Video to follow. Thanks for watching!
GOOD VIDEO TO START THE DAY,I SEEN THE CANNONS IN A LARGER SCALE IN CHEAP TOY SETS FOR YEARS.I LIKE AIRFIX FIGURES BUT LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN TODAY WORLD OF MINIATURES,THERE ROOM FOR CHANGE.I LIKE MIXING THE OLD WITH THE NEW ,NO TWO SOLDIERS ARE ALWAYS ALIKE IN COMBAT UNIFORMS.GREAT PAINT JOB ,TAKE CARE
Nice! Memories from childhood... Grew up playing with these sets. Unfortunately the scale on the soldiers differed a lot. Example - Airfix Napoleonic brit infantry were so much larger than the french imperial guard, making it look stupid playing with them.
WELL DONE VIDEO AND BUILD ON THE TANK AND TROOPS SIR.MADE MY DAY,MAYBE A VIDEO COMPARING THESE FIGURES WITH THE AIRFIX WW1 TROOPS?HAVE A GREAT WEEK SIR,TAKE CARE
Very impressed at your paintwork, i have this set but i have been trying for years to get the Revell ww1 French infantry which were a good accompaniment to thease.
Great looking finish to a great set, have one somewhere up the loft, keep looking at the sets of emar figures iv got and think i should get them painted but at the moment thinking of getting the hat range of turks and anzacs to do company level skirmish games.
Yep, got this set also. Great paint job. I've got the Airfix French WW1 also. They all compliment the Revell equivalents nicely on the gaming table. Great vintage sets. Agree, flash on some of these old rejuvenated moulds is challenging. I avoided the British and American sets. The American set is a joke in terms of historical accuracy.
WELL DONE VIDEO AND PAINT JOB SIR,THEY CRY OUT TO BE IN A TRENCH DIORAMA IN WW1.WHEN IT COMES TO MINIATURES MY HEART BELONG TO AIRFIX.AGAIN YOU HAVE TAKEN WHAT SOME WOULD CALL TOYS SOLDIERS TO BE A WORK OF ART. TAKE CARE
FIQUEI SINCERAMENTE APAIXONADO POR ESSAS FIGURAS, AS DEFINIÇÕES TANTO DOS SOLDADOS COMO AS DOS ANIMAIS SÃO FASCINANTE PARABÉNS MEU PARABÉNS MESMO 🤜🤛👍🤝🔥💥🔥💥💥💥
