Blimey just found a big box of these Airfix 1/72 HO figures of multiple eras in my basement well preserved some painted even some still plastic wrapped in their boxes.
Yes the mortar and the mills bomb came later, so I omitted them from my project, the retreat ftom Mons 1914. I used HaT figures as well, very nice sculpts. I also used British infantry carved down to use as early war highlanders with kilts. For the Germans I used a mixture of HaT and Strelets, horse foot and artillery.
@@marklinnane1744 thanks Mark, unfortunately not very good camera work. I am working on the second Boer war at the moment, again in 1/72. Video to follow. Thanks for watching!
Nice! Memories from childhood... Grew up playing with these sets. Unfortunately the scale on the soldiers differed a lot. Example - Airfix Napoleonic brit infantry were so much larger than the french imperial guard, making it look stupid playing with them.
I still have this exact set plus the germans, french, and americans from when I was a kid, was always terrible at painting them! may go back and give it another shot after seeing this.
