@caseyconnor2 Месяц назад
Thanks! I'm afraid I can't help you re: Europe (I got mine in the US) but in case it helps: the LEDs that I used were Lumileds L128-DRD1003500000 (in the Luxeon 2835 Color Line). These are surface-mount LEDs, though, so be aware that they are difficult to solder without damaging. Good luck!

Very beautiful and moving and it reflects the conversations we aristocratic Milliners have with society at large, we have a waltz in mind when we are cut off by a staccato but that is just a continuo to the Waltzing My ~ Who'll come a waltzing Matilda with me?

Doesn't the light flux ultimately depend on the current you are driving them with? And with the potentiometer, how can you know how much current you are driving? In your schematic you mention a 100 or 250 Ohm pot + 4.7 per led, so assuming a switched off pot you are driving them with over 150mA... What I mean is that in the end it seems to me that either you don't put any pot and then you can calculate precisely the exposure, or with a pot you are going to just eyeball it (put not intended)... and yes I'm trying to build my own pair of glasses here :)
@namero999

hello sir, thank you very much for sharing so much detailed information about the apple grinder. I am a beer brewer in Shenzhen China. My father has an orchard that each year produces like 20 tons of apples. I want to help him to digest so many apples. I also want to make the cider. But I don't know how to make this apple crusher, would you like to share the blue print of this apple crusher? if you do , I will be very appreciated. Your Duran

Hi -- I'm sorry but I don't have plans for the grinder or the press, but if it is useful you can download the Blender file here: caseyconnor.org/pub/image/fruitpress/fruitpress.blend 20 tons is a lot of apples! Good luck with it!

Remarkable job. I know this video is old, but I'm curious because I may build my own setup. 1) the commercial presses frequently use several layers of apple pulp separated by grids that permit the juice to flow in between those layers. There's got to be a sound reasons for this; have you considered using, say, four or five polyester bags separated by additional grids? 2) It seems to me that the side to side (outward) forces are not that high compared to the vertical force. Could you get by with a food grade bucket with holes drilled on the sides, especially at the bottom? Would be super easy to build (not as attractive) and easy to clean. If necessary you could nest one bucket inside the other or cut rings off a second bucket, place those 'hoops' over the main bucket.

@CaseyConnor
@CaseyConnor 2 года назад
I used them for a month or two afterwards, and my eyes were fine, with the continued sense of minor improvement (but not more than already reported). I haven't used them in a while (busy summer) but intend to start again now that I have more time in the AM. I want to wear them daily for a month or two and then re-test to see if there is any further improvement... probably won't be a video for it but I'd update the video description here.

Hi. Okay it's been 8 month now so maybe you've moved on! But I have some ideas for further testing: -when you remove your headphone the roomtone doesn't appear with a volume fade, it sounds more like a lowpass filter's sweep - maybe our brain notices the change in the differences in timbre between the background noise and the triangle wave, and misinterprets a relative pitch change as an absolute one. -also, with the headphones on your ears, you hear the triangle wave completely dry, whereas, holding it in front of you sends it to your room's natural reverberation. So the new test would be basically yours plus: the white noise is routed to an aux bus with a short room impulse response, both (dry & wet) are routed to a submix bus with a lowpass filter on it. As you remove the headphones, the filter's cutoff gradually rises and the triangle wave is gradually sent to the aux bus.
@caseyconnor2
@caseyconnor2 Год назад
...and now it's been 7 months since your comment so maybe you've moved on as well :-) -- your first suggestion is exactly what I tried at 2:18 and subsequent tests. Re: the second suggestion -- good thought; however I have tried this in a few different environments with the same effect. But just to be sure I pulled up the test project and added a reverb test that does what you suggest and alas it did not produce the effect. The mystery continues!

What about Christmas light?
@caseyconnor2
@caseyconnor2 2 года назад
You mean the LEDs used in Christmas lights? There's a chance they produce some of the necessary wavelengths, but it would depend on the particular lights. There is too much variation to make a broad statement.

Great homage! Random question: when you record many instruments for one song, then is there a special order you record in in order to make it easier for everything to line up rhythmically or does the software do that for you? Like do you record drums first, then record bass while listening to the drums, then do you record guitar while listening to to the drum+bass, etc...?
