@ChrisBrady737 cool, keep up the awesome work. I'm a B1/B2 engineer of 20 years on CL/NG and Max your videos are great to recap my knowledge and I ALWAYS learn something if not many things.
Hello Captain, i am a little bit confused about the anti ice bleed, why would the cowl heating air be taken before the pre cooler( so its hotter) and the LED taken after it ( isn't it better to be the other way around since it has to travel a long distance in the ducts untill it reaches its destination?)
Captain Brady, the photos you have included in this presentation have brought me so much clarity 💡 to the countless text materials I have read on this topic. Thank you.
Thanks for the excellent explanation!! If you have a second fire in the other cargo compartment, Does the system work in the same manner? the remaining time of the Halon stills works? Greetings from Argentina
00:01 Chris. I want to get your attention. Don't you think the case of the the ATR (Automatic Thrust Restoration) system hidden in the DC9 of Scandinavian Air Service (SAS) 751which crashed where SAS didn't order the system, and was not notified of its existence, is eerily similar to the MCAS? Now MD is Boeing. I start to wonder what other hidden systems are there, and am I safe flying in a Boeing plane???
I like the video , but Why do you say not to look at the QRH when there are clear Deferred items to be done differently ? In my view anything issue you have inflight , either carry from before or not, requires a place where you can read the whole procedure on how to land safely . Infact this is a demonstration of it, being the QRH perfect copy of MEL, AFM and Performance requirements on this event all in one. I would like you to speculate on the comment you made about “not applicable “ . We could all benefit , thanks so much .
I’m currently doing my b737ng cfm56-7B type course B1/B2, these vids will help me a lot especially for ata24 and probably ata22 and 34 aswell, thank you very much for that sir! 🫡
Hi Chris, I am helping out a friend working on a 737 MAX simulation by providing FCS and Aerodynamics. For the ailerons, you mention the 1 degree down-rigging. Is the 20 to 15 degree an offset from that 1 degree or an offset from 0? Thanks. Great videos.
I have a practical question regarding to bleed pack operation on classic a/c equipped with Garrett 36-280. Do pilots can actually use both packs on the ground with the APU bleed on or is it prohibited by the SOP for commonality reason?
May Boeing considered the possibility of uncommanded MCAS operation as part of its functional hazard assessment, it did not evaluate all the potential alerts and indications that could accompany a failure that also resulted in uncommanded MCAS operation? The results of both AOA vanes disagreement for correction of the enlarged positioning, of the fwd mounted engine in stall condition. So MCAS was in an uncommanded in operation. That caused the crash not the realignet mounted engine. So someone had commanded the MCAS in normal stab trim opperation that cause to an unsualy flight manovour in high speed condition. The MCAS is limiting the speed ratio of both redudant Speed Stabilacer Systems both FCC Cannels. The only 2 hours Pilot differntial Typerating form old B737 cant be a human Ressources failure. extension://bfdogplmndidlpjfhoijckpakkdjkkil/pdf/viewer.html?file=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ntsb.gov%2Finvestigations%2FAccidentReports%2FReports%2FASR1901.pdf
Hi . Thanks for your useful training. In the Trak at minute 39.29, you said that LGTU when N1 of NO.1 engine <56 the system B enters the circuit, In case ,it is written in AMM, N2.
Whenever I watch this video, I am amazed how Cpt. Chris Brady (with his nice white shirt) manages not to get dirty in this dirty environment 😂 thank you so much Cpt. Chris Brady, your videos, website etc are the best source of information for B737 pilots
Hi Chris, very informative series. I have a question. I have seen for an APU start, that if you first move the switch to the on position for a short period, then move it to the start position, you get a much quicker start. I haven't found an explanation for this anywhere. Do you know why this is? I assume that its bad for the service life of the APU as well? Thanks
FYI As I understand GPS sats are unlikely to orbit decay and fall back to earth anytime soon as they are in MEO (medium earth orbit) and it would take quite a while to do so >100 years. Old GPS sats may be placed in a "graveyard orbit" when they fail / run low on fuel.
Chris, Fantastic videos. I would like some insight (if you have any) on a topic that comes up during the upgrade interview. Overweight (by a few 000 kgs) autoland risks. Naturally the aircraft should be able to do it, but is there any sort of documentation on what the gear can actually handle? The context is having to land due to a passenger requiring immediate medical attention in CATII/CATIII weather. Thanks! (read the FCTM paragraphs on overweight and autoland overweight, still vague!)
Hi chris, random question about 737NG vs max. In the max variant you have the equipment smoke light so in case of fire or smoke its very clear where the source is and u just run the NNC for that, in theNG series theres no such thing so what do you do just run the smoke fire n fumes checklist ? Theres no way of knowing if source is avionics bay in the NG how do u deal with this and more importantly how are aware of the fact that u have a smoke source in ur avionics bay in NG series ? Or is there no way to know cheers. Keep up the amazing videos
Hey, i have a question about the Pitot probes being turned off on the ground after landing. If you turn these OFF will it cause a master caution to illuminate or will it stay blank?
Thank you Chris for very educational video. It filled up my my mental "puzzle" why airlines don't load airplanes to achieve the most rearward CG. Now i see: they do! The benefits from this load on cruise are obvious, and now i see also benefits for t/o and landings. The key point for me (and you specifically mentioned that) was that performance is given for most FWD CG. So, to take benefits from actual CG position, we have to have approved alternate CG.
