A few months back you said that this phone was "severely held back" by OS (pre Magic OS8). now with the update to OS8, is it still being held back? Is more intuitive? Or maybe it's just a cosmetic update? Thanks. Love your content.
@@racingpixel8237 it seems a lot better so much so that I am actually using it as my daily driver. So much nicer than the Fold V in every day use but still getting Android Auto disconnecting but far less. Another area I am disappointed with is the poor colour balance of the cameras. Reds for example always have a horrible pinkish hew to them. The Samsung seems to get it pretty well bang on but the Honor spoils the image when red is the predominant colour, ie a colour of a car for example.
I bought it a week ago because I really love Huawei, their build quality is amazing and their OS is impressive. I know the 6pro has not the best cameras but for my personal use is better than I need. I do not need 100x zoom I do not need to take photos of people in edifices.
I tried the X100 pro ultra. I just dont like the photo. The focus point is competely wrong. I shot somebody sitting down on a bed of wild flowers in the open field. Some of the flowers ahead of the subject is too sharp & in focus as with the person which is the focal point. Then the back flowers which is just a few cm away from the subject gets blur off too much while some are pin sharp as the subject. Of cause the background blur is there but the artifical bluring of the background to simulate bokeh is not 100% correct all the time. If blown up on my monitor, i could see the bokeh error in the hair and flowers & grass besides & behind the subject. On the phone it looks nice as first glance but when you start looking at the details, you will notice the mistakes. With the 14U, you dont get this issue when the photo is taken with Ai off & rely on the physical shutter to deliver the natural bokeh. Flowers & grass infront of subject will be blur with gradual clarity as the focus moves nearer to the subject.
Good video. I just got the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. I have always had the Samsung Galaxy Notes. But I fell in love with this camera phone. I have saved your video to acquaint myself with it. Thank you.
Hi :) I own a Xiaomi 14 Ultra and noticed that when Video recording at 5x to 10x, the 8K 30 is much better video quality than 4K. Would you be willing to do a compering test of max video performance of VIVO X100 Ultra with max of Xiaomi 14 Ultra (8K 30) at zooms of 5 to 10 times. Thanks:)
First authentic mirrorless camera with phone functions. That's why I'm seriously considering buying it, but I'm still hesitant about the comfort of everyday use (I mentioned a few things under another video). Cheers
Great! I'm very interested about X100Ultra. I would like to ask for 5 easy things to test: 1. Remembering all settings, including the application language, after restarting the phone - apparently it tends to restore Chinese (system and keyboard), but for example installing the Morelocale2 application with own settings and adding it to the autostart with the phone eliminates the problem. 2. Is it possible to translate the camera app into another language, which is not in the phone (and again - are the application language settings remembered after turning the phone off and on). 3. Notifications from Facebook/Twitter/RU-vid and various applications installed from Google Play - apparently many of them (especially Facebook/YT) are not included in the system notifications and can only be checked after entering the app (which would be quite inconvenient). 4. Remembering traveled routes and visited places in Google Maps. Apparently you have to say goodbye to this function on the Chinese ROM. Big disadvantage for me if it's true. 5. Compatibility with Windows when transferring photos/videos between devices via USB/Bluetooth. Camera probably is the best ever put in smartphone with Android but if some of the issues mentioned were true, it might discourage me from purchasing it due to the discomfort of daily use. Regards and I am waiting for more videos about the X100Ultra :)
1. No problem with remaining settings after reboot, morelocale2 also remain. 2. Didn't check english is ok for me. 3. All notifications are working, You have just to add battery, autostart, notification exceptions per app You need. Some of them also require floating windows to work properly - example Nova Launcher with Nova Companion Google Discover 4. Google Maps search history is working but tracking history ( which I normally always disable on my account/phone ) is not working 5. No problem all is working perfectly. Also I'd add info if You want to use eSIM functionality which is not included in chinese Vivo phones it's easy to solve it using physical SIM card from 5ber for around 25 usd. If You have more specific questions feel free to ask. Cheers.
@@michalpopielas7020 Thanks a lot! I would like to clarify question 4. Since tracking does not work in Google Maps, does this negatively affect GPS navigation in maps? Can I navigate normally? And one more question occurred to me - although I assume it's not a problem - it is possible or if yes how do I install a keyboard other than the pre-installed ones with special characters (e.g. Polish) and is it work dictionary suggestions when writing text messages/emails? Cheers
@@andrzejborola5929 Everything is working ok but it's not storing tracking history in Google, so you can use maps, use navigation, search and get history of your destinations. Sure I use gboard and it has polish language as well, all apps are in polish lang because I put mlocale2 with PL locale, only system menu is english. Also banking, revolut, nfc payments are working perfectly in Poland. I've seen today that in august might be even possible to run android auto - but this info is not verified might be fake so hard to say.
@@andrzejborola5929 everything will be working perfectly, just tracking history is not supported. All search history remain. No problem with doing all apps in PL with mlocale2 app, only operating system menu remain English or whatever You choose from available. Android auto is not working but I've heard that maybe will be implemented in August but this is not verified information. All banking apps, revolut, NFC payments are working perfectly. Apps notifications also are working great just need to setup permissions in few places.
hey just a suggestion for your channel - we see a lot of you. But can you for somehow figure to show some more of the phone and its user interface as you speak? like a top or side camera or something. It will just help with contex and grow your channel better. I like your thumbnails come in and see you go talk about it and i close the tab as i cant see much of the product you reivew. just a suggestion, take it as you will. Thanks
@JMTMarc I would be interested to know about notifications, banking apps, gps/maps reliability, fingerprint sensor accuracy, and Bluetooth stability. Appreciate the effort and honest reviews 👍
Thought I would pop a reply, I've had mine since launch now, then sent to the UK. It works fine with my NatWest Banking app, and PayPal, and my credit card company. GPS wise, as good as any phone I've used, I frequently use Waze and Google maps. Fingerprint sensor is accurate and fast. Notifications all started coming through without having to change any settings (Apart from Google reminders) I had to change the battery saving settings for that and timed reminders. It's certainly the best camera in a phone I've ever used, in particular the periscope, the sharpness and lack of noise is very impressive. I've also loved using Origin OS, very smooth, and the widgets are surprisingly very useful.
interesting video, I would like a comparison with the Honor Magic 6 pro since I own it and it also has a powerful 180 MP zoom! So a comparison especially in the zoom camera during the day! Thanks
commenting mostly for the algo. Love the honest reviews of of smartphones on this channel- especially the in depth issues of mi 14 ultra i couldn't find on any oher channel. I'm not even looking for a new phone lol- I'm keeping my iphone 13 pro out of spite lmao (my 86% battery health device gets less than 4 hours of battery life browsing on 30% typical brightness, 4G, no background app refresh. It also overheats very easily- I'm certain apple was behind this.)
I'm surprised that this video mentions the Xiaomi being more processed. I watched a photographer on Bilibili go through RAW images comparing the X100 Ultra and 14 Ultra, and there are times when the AI processing in Vivo creates fake textures in more difficult shots. Examples like hair being processed into zigzag shrivelled patterns because the phone couldn't tell which direction the hair is supposed to go, or removing the natural slight blur when shooting through glass. Then again English language channels seem to only care about the quality on Auto...
I just subscribed to your channel, looking for a video on Vivo X100 Ultra. I'm waiting for the courier to deliver it, it should arrive by today. I can't wait. I'm curious to watch your future videos on this device. Greetings from Italy
idk..i got one n felt disappointed afterword, i guess the demo experience were set to deceive us to purchase the unit...the curve screen is a pain to use when trying to move things to nxt screen and sometimes it effect the typing when holding on landscape mode. it came with lots of bloatware n some settings were defaulted to use chinese or vivo app and its not changable. Some app function will prioritize Chinese function / settings (which i dont use at all). The screen reflect light in any possible way, the auto dimming is buggy (it will switch to lowest brightness in a dark room), it will keep default to use vivo app / vivo browser in any possible chances, and i notice sometimes at night there are phantom / ghost click the screen will turn on itself when charging with some touch movement in the middle or somewhere (nowdays i just lay the phone instead of on a stand facing my bed). u cant game it in high settings despite having 16 + 16 Ram. other than this the phone seems ok as camera is not my main usage... took quite sometimes to bypass and complete the setup, it seems ROG Phone / Samsung / iPhone are much easier to setup.
I’m using Hm6p and the v2 (work), it’s my first time with this company, and I’m so happy with my choice, left my s24u/zf5 for this combo, and I more than happy
Hello, greetings, in your opinion is this a device that can be purchased? Cause I've seen someone having problems in transferring files to ssd and many other software issues.
Mine arrived this morning onto my P90. Obvious visual differences to me was the font change to the clock. The calendar does have the additional element for schedules but I doubt I will ever use. The translations from Chinese to English is something these companies need to work on more for international users. This is not a unique problem for Honor as I have experienced the same with Fiio and other brands. So far the update is stable and installed in less than a couple of minutes which was surprising.
