Welcome to Street Pigeon MTB. Established in 2018, this is one of Scotland's fastest growing mountain biking channels, focussed on taking viewers on an MTB journey around Scotland and further afield.
The channel focus is on sharing my experiences as honestly as I can. I create MTB - vlog style videos in the same style as Paul the Punter and McTrail Rider. Over time you will see the places I ride, the equipment I use and the friendships that are a part of this journey. I hope to use this channel to shed further light on the amazing Scottish mountain biking scene as well as encouraging my own progression in the sport. If this channel inspires you to get out and ride then it is job done for me. So please, if you enjoy what you see, get involved by commenting and sharing your own ideas and experiences.
Thank you. Enjoy - I will hopefully meet you on the trails at some point!
Brilliant spec. Good looking bike. Personally I'd replace that notoriously bad sealant with Stans or similar, otherwise you might find those tyres ruined when the muck dries to immovable concrete on your beads.
Is this your second Aeris AM? I'm curious what you think of the Vivid. I have a RS SD Air on my old Aeris AM9 and a Vivid on my Aeris 9. The most obvious thing to me is that I feel the RS SD starting to compress and the Vivid I don't. (Friction thing I gues)
No, this is my AM. I've done a video with a demo bike but this is mine. The Vivid is really competent. I don't think I've fully set it up to it's potential but I think it's so plush and has a really nice progression to it.
I had the Vittoria's on my trail bike. Really liked them, until I went back to Maxxis. It was like having another level of small chatter sensitive suspension. Those Vittoria's are so hard/harsh in comparison! Last longer though..
Yeah, don't ask about the rotors 😆 That was just an oversight, will get that sorted. Starting with with a 200/180 setup, see how it goes. It is a good bit lighter than what I've got so we'll see if I can get away with 180 at the rear.
I love my heavy rims and tyres. The low pressures and momentum give so much confidence vs my trail wheels and tyres. Just a tiny bit harder going up hill.
@@streetpigeonmtbpretty much a budget Full suspension/Enduro. It's a GT Force Sport. I've given it a test ride before going to Tarland on Saturday. Looking forward to it. 🙂
I got the bird forge 29 today as well because of this guys videos and I actually seen the fs bike in this color and I think I will also get this one as my first ever fs and I’ll have 2 bird bikes 🚲
It's really difficult to say. Honesty, look at the size charts and trust them. If you are in-between sizes then ideally it would be worth getting a demo. If you contact the guys at Bird directly they will be able to advise 😁
That was scary Even if the camera wasn't showing how steep it is I'd never do that I might have seen scarier, Eathie Hill on Black Isle? The one with the bothy at the bottom I'd never do that either I can just about get my touring bike down the zig zag track. Trouble is the trail just goes straight down cutting through all the zigs and zags, whereupon you'd emerge on a near vertical descent right on top of anyone on the track with no warning - it's maybe only used by arrangement with the track closed? Or at 2am and cross your fingers Anyway, check it out if you're in the vicinity, but for the love of God please don't even think about riding it

@MTB_Boiz no worries. Don't know if you saw my latest vid there but it shoes a few of the trails I mentioned... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--ncGaxbcLXc.htmlsi=Xlt6_Hd0bbvY_IWP
Jamie, brilliant vid, only been to golfie a year ago, first day on new bike and even though I’ve been mtb’ing for 30 odd years, I sharted on the few trails I did ride! You’ve inspired me to get back down and try it again, gave me a ton of confidence that I too will be able to ride them. Mind over matter!! Coffee coming your way
I’m from Newcastle and have been up Inners and Glentress quite a few times now and still haven’t ridden the Golfie stuff. Looking at this I really need to! Only just discovered the Glentress off piste stuff last summer and was in my element! Will definitely be up that way at least once this summer.
