I needed this. The comparison is so real and it quickly turns into that mom guilt. When that guilt gets so heavy it tends to shut me down where I don’t even leverage what we have. I shut down because the enemy is so loud in my thoughts telling me that I’ve already failed the day as a mom. This is all so real and a daily battle. Thank you for sharing this and it’s nice to not feel alone (as the enemy wants us to feel).

Yes, please do a template for your letter! That’s a great way to speak into their lives over and over again every time they read it. I wrote a letter to my 17-year-old this year on her birthday in my devotional journal. She lives across the states with her Bio mom, and when she came home for a visit I wrote another 3 pages for her to take on the plane and read on her way back home. Now I think every year I’m going to write her a letter on her Birthday! Thank you all for this video, it was really inspiring! And so cool to hear the teenage perspective. Thank you two too!

Being extreme is the problem too harsh or too lenient. I’m facing consequences of too lenient. Painful time for me having a rebellious teenager. I accept I have failed as a parent and now laying everything down to Yahweh to help us. Praying and fasting and waiting for the day that I can see children as a blessing.🔥

When Jesus questioned The Father - Why have you abandoned me- separated from me - Consider Jesus who knew no sin. took on the sins of the whole world- and God can’t be with sin - so until- all that sin was forgiven- released- and not a part of Jesus- God had to be separate- When Jesus rose from the dead- He was renewed and cleansed.

My youngest of 4 just graduated high school and as I listen to this message on G.U.I.L.T. the relevance is just as meaningful to me as a mother now as it would have been with young kids. I so appreciate the Real.Authentic.Way. format and the genuine conversation I can easily hear while entering into the topic presented.

I’m a single mom and widow and I thank you both and the Bevere family for these amazing podcasts and videos! My husband passed when my daughter was 6months old, she’s now 4.5 and I’m going through a difficult time with her. I’m going through all the avenues I can to overcome this issue for her and with her, including building myself up the best I can to be the best I can be for her, leaving the rest to God. I feel weary but I’m trying to lean into God more. Prayers appreciated, God is good 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Hi!! Me and my husband are so blessing with this channel. We are from argentina, first generation of christian family, and willing to guide our daughter in the fear of Lord. Thank you! I am wondering if you can talk about children behaviour at church on sunday. We have a baby. How can we teach her to respect that time? Can she be with her grandparents? because they want to take her to other seats, far of us. (Both grandparents know jesus after our childhood). Hope you read our coment! Thanks!!!

Thank you for your costly sacrifice to make these podcasts. This is the first time listening to your podcast and I found this one to be so encouraging. I would love to hear from you about navigating through dealing with and directing teenage kids to have a personal relationship themselves with God when they are so rebellious and resisting (maybe you have done one already - I will search), as I too have 4 kids - the eldest being a boy of 14 and the youngest a boy of 5. I find the teenage years by far the most challenging and emotionally draining (even in light of very difficult baby years of colic and reflux and difficulty feeding and everything that goes with that) as they challenge everything you say/do and have such strong opinions and desires to be totally independent and think they know everything and also what is best, when it is not. How do you successfully navigate through that?

I love a lot of what these podcasts have to say. I did personally decide not to spank my kids. Does this mean I do not discipline my kids…not at all, but I do think there are other ways in which to shepherd kids. I was spanked as a child and initially thought I would spank my kids. Then after I had mine, I began praying and doing more research leaning that the staff was used to guide and the rod to redirect. Learning the physiological impact of spanking and how it actually causes damage in the brain made me really think twice. Not spanking sometimes makes discipline harder as you have to be more thoughtful and creative as to what will work. I am curious your podcast into spanking as I really have a gut feel that it isn’t the right way for my family. I don’t think I am wrong in this nor do I think it is wrong if someone feels that is what the Lord has called them to do (to spank or not spank). I just think there is too much weight given to “the rod” in passages that are meant to talk about discipline as a way of guiding/teaching/redirecting….love how you mention this, but I also don’t think spanking has to be a part of the equation.

I’m grateful to have experienced a childhood without smart phones and social media. But I was forced to use my imagination because my parents always disciplined me to stay in my room or my grandma made me and my siblings stay outside a lot. There still weren’t adults or my parents showing me better ways to spend my time. Now that I have my own kids, I do notice that I need to provide something for them to do (mostly because of boredom). It’s challenging to sympathize with them because I grew up differently, nonetheless it’s still my job to assist them in finding ways to become skillful or enjoy their time, without a screen.

What a wonderfully Godly family. Your kids are such an inspiration. They are far more spiritually mature and honest than most Christian adults. They are truly great examples of children who are loved, proud of, and belonged to. You as parents have done a beautiful job of raising them up to be like Christ. You showed great respect by letting them say what they felt like saying and you patiently listened. it showed how proud you are of them and how much they are loved and cherished. Thank you for being an example of Christ's love. May all Christian families live out these truths, through Jesus Christ.
