My step dad was in the Suez conflict in the 1950's. In the DLI He never told me what happened either , but he told my mum a few things and mum told me years later Thanks for the video Harry
Ante nicene fathers are heretics according to cappadocian fathers of nicea and those came after them like catholic church and orthodox church and protestant church
Soft wood for quick heat, hardwood for longer burning and less stoking, what I learned recently is that wood from vines, when dried, is good for BBQs. Historically, a lot of French coal was pretty awful, which forced French steam engineers to develop more efficient steam engines.
Having one such temperamental star here I know all about their dietary demands. Mine successfully fooled my wife today into thinking no food had been provided. Hey Presto, two meals! @@harryfaber
I found a few kilos of it previously in the old pig stye, but this looks like the last of it. I dread to think how much it would cost to heat the house with coal alone, and I am not a fan of coal, pure wood ash can go straight on the garden, coal ash cannot.
Having removed all the bits that broke the Hays Code, and re-shot some scenes with body doubles playing the Wayne and Eastwood roles, the PCA have approved it......... the premier will be at McTavish's Fish Bar on the Isle of Mull.
Ah, I have just hitched the video editor to a team of horses, fired a shot in the air and he is now being dragged at high speed in the general direction of Belgium. That means I have a vacancy for an editor, I have seen your work, applications should be sent to....
Vine looks amazing. Grandma is a little wonder. I know next to nothing about plumbing ( well actually I do manage to do a few small repairs if I can proceed without the expertise of an expert) or coal mining ⛏️ I went for a stroll by our river here in Bedford and the whole landscape has been altered by flooding 😢 It's going to take some time to return to normal but the residents of Bedford are up in arms despite there being nothing to be done to hasten the clean up. Have a good weekend, Harry 🤗🙏
Job well done, you deserve a medal for that achievement trimming the vine back to make sure it doesn’t cause problems later with the plumbing. Those cats are definitely something else when there is a ladder around.
Good morning Harry 🌄 We had torrential rain and thunder and lightning..and a tornado..in our region of England. Flooding too. The River Great Ouse at the bottom of our street is full to bursting at the moment and a hotel along there has been affected. The geese and swans are bobbing about on a very full river. Yes, my Dad was also too young to serve in WW2 but did National Service after and he spoke of yucky jobs in the RAF like grease traps etc 😕 Thankful that he was too young for the war of course. Always good but tense to watch one of your cats climbing a ladder 🤗 Have a good indoor day. Isn't it Scrabble day??!!
I have been looking at some of the weather stories, interesting problems! Grandma loves a ladder, she was trying to work out if it was close enough to the window ledge. Yes, Scrabble at Saulnay town hall. Will I be able to use the words I have learned: epeautre, plaies and soupir? Never learned them at school!
But did we learn about spelt at school? I have a friend whose son is a highly qualified baker, and they are trying to get into gluten free bread as well as all the normal ones. Hence questions about epeautre.
When you can pick them up for just £20-£30 they are irresistible. I’ve learnt a lesson from my rapidly growing fleet of Dublo 3 rail locos. Examples that "don’t work" never stay that way for long. They are so easy to repair, and I just can’t bring myself to break them up for spares. So my "non working" 0-6-2T sat for 6 months awaiting scrapping with a bizarre electrical fault. I was pretty sure the armature was dead. Then last week I took it apart and discovered the card insulation tube between the brush tube and the chassis had somehow broken down. So I replaced it with some paper (!), gave the loco a clean and a remag and no surprise, away it went! So now I need another one for spares…🙄
Just got back from a trip from Peru and Wow what a place. I’ve done the same thing with a new pair of blue jeans and a white t-shirt. I have been schooled on the finer art cloths washing since them😂
In your case, leave the settings how you found them. In daylight, it is quite a nice baby blue. To put your mind at rest, it wasn't actually a new vest, it came from a house clearance. I don't want to get the reputation of a new clothes kinda guy.
It is a navet. It is part of the same family as radishes. The leaves are good feed for chickens and the root is good sliced and grated in salad or cooked in a stew.
Yes, the Morse Jaguar had the black top. When I was buying my first car, I could have afforded to buy one, what I could not afford was the insurance. They are a very quick car.

A female wasp spider. Mating is a dangerous game for males; they wait at the edge of the web until the female has moulted into a mature form, then take advantage of her jaws being soft and rush in to mate. However, many males still get eaten during this time. Sigh...
@@Mr_CMH Some times, but the truth is that London has spread, I was born in Rainham in Essex, that became 'London' when I was at school, and even Leigh on Sea is basically a suburb of London.
I thought you would like that. Most small joinery shops have the spindle cutters for making this kind of thing, of course, most new windows are PVC. Making it from the solid does mean that there isn't a joint that can open up.
Some of the folk that use the cycle path might be psychopaths. However, the French do not confuse the two, as the 'p' is not silent in French and a cycle is a velo. However, did you hear about the dyslexic agnostic insomniac who lay awake in his bed every night wondering if there is a dog?
Every Monday, I put out the rubbish to be collected. As a direct result of modern packaging, on my own I 'create' more rubbish than we, as a family of 4, did when I was 5.
@@harryfaber Certainly there is a terrible problem with the 'throw away' attitude of modern consumption. Like you, I enjoy salvagjng and reusing whenever I can, but much of modern life does not allow it, by design. I still have my milk delivered in returnable glass bottles, but I pay a premium for this environmentally sensible act.
@@Mr_CMH It is almost impossible to find milk in glass bottles here, some rare breed and unpasteurised milk is sold in it for the same prices as buying your own cow!
Lucky for me, I live in Iowa and it's still 1882 here. You can get all those glass holder inners you want just a half a mile from my house at Ace Hardware. And if you're lazy, you just take the window there and they will repair it for you. If you or anyone you know is in desperate need of window holder inners, tell them you know a guy in Iowa that can fix them up. Of course I will need to make a small profit. :D
Will Ace Hardware replace Ed's as a sponsor? Maybe a 'two for one' offer, brass coffin handles with free 'glazing points', another commentor has taught me something, that is the proper name for them. I don't know anyone who commutes between here and Iowa, is it far from Kansas? I know a few folk from there, and they could easily smuggle stuff.
I guess the folk that used to make tips for poison arrows make them.... I may be one of the few folk on earth that has never bought anything from them.
One good thing here, all the shops stock linseed oil! I need windows for some very odd sized openings, and they do not need to be double glazed as when the job is finished, they will have shutters.
The Faber cat farm has come a long way... that widow frame needs some cribbing and a bottle jack to hold it in place while you drill and rebar it back together... but you already know that.
I will probably use a screw jack, the bottle jack I have doesn't like working horizontally. It will be 'fun'. It will get a good coat of looking at before I do the 'engineering'.
