Ican't understand, who and why are these two co called" operatic " singers are promoted by world famous oppera producers, stage directors et. I have a feeling that all of maestros are either bribed in some way or other, apparently for political readons to pplease the Kremlimauthorites.
Francesco Albanese was albanian born in Italy since the surname "Albanese" is more common in southern Italy by albanians, long history italians and albanians together 🇮🇹🇦🇱
Straordinaria, eccezionale Netrebko trovo sia il più grande soprano oggi al mondo nei ruoli drammatici e lirico spinto, lui voce timbricamente molto sgradevole alle mie orecchie...non riesco ad ascoltarlo
Its not Carreras its not his voice! He had problems and he did often sing not well but here this is not him. I know him, when I hear a single tone, believe me, its not Carreras.
Well I believe you might be right. When this was given to me years ago (this video is super old) I was told it was Carreras. It could be Kristian Johansson.
A wonderful array of baritone singing. Titta Ruffo is sublime. Ettore Bastianini singing Largo al factotum is superb, search for it on RU-vid. Apollo Granforte is also magnificent.
you should play this to all young bass singers so that they see even the titans of this repertoire were human! :) extraordinary timbre, one of my favorites! Also Gottlob Frick was well known for not really getting the low notes out sometimes in live performances...as I said, they are human!...although both had very dark timbres. Thanks for posting this!
Sorry for opening this video. It's painful to listen such singing and it's painful to watch the torture of these artists on stage. I made it to 5:14 and I can't take it anymore. The voice can be deceiving, as the singing instrument is something very easily vulnerable, and the singer can also be having a bad day or being sick. Those are unfortunate coincidences I can understand. However, a singer should know his instrument better than anyone and know when to step off the stage with dignity, leaving a memory of his illustrious career, not of a long painful decline. Franco Corelli stepped off the stage at the age of 55 because he noticed a certain dimness in his voice - something that no one else noticed. On the other hand we have Mr. Domingo who continues to persevere and retrained as a baritone. If singing pays the debts, Mr. Domingo seems to pay the debts of his entire family.
Muchas gracias!
Thank you for your kind words! Good questions... hard to answer! As far as I know, the option is in the original. But I cannot tell you whether Fleta sang it or not. If we assume that it was written by Puccini, Toscanini could not have said anything against it and Fleta most certainly was capable of singing it. But really, I do not know.
This recording is probably from the little-known 1952 performance in Mexico. This performance is not as memorable as the one in 1950 with Callas, Baum, and Warren (Petroff replacing Warren on a third performance). Here are some details. CAST Leonora - Rosa Rodríguez Manrico - José Soler Azucena - Oralia Domínguez Conte Di Luna - Piero Campolonghi Ferrando - Roberto Silva Inés - Edna Pattoni Ruiz - Carlos Sagarminaga Conductor - Umberto Mugnai Palacio de las Bellas Artes Mexico City July 20th, 1952 This Opera probably replaced "L'amico Fritz", which was scheduled for July 22nd and 26th.
@@AfroPoli hi dear AfroPoli! Sadly, I can´t find it anymore. However, I did see Nilsson as Turandot here in our Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, 1965, with Caballé as Liù, and Ouzounov as Calaf...
@@AfroPoli it certainly was! Yes, I was there indeed! During the same season, Nilsson sang Salome with Fritz Uhl, Tom Krause, Grace Hoffman, we also had Evelyn Lear as Lulu (2-act version, as the 3d act was still unavailable), Denise Duval as Blanche de la Force and so many others...
I me Turner once (incredibly briefly). She was a very old lady by then and was emerging from the stage door of Covent Garden - I held the door for her and she smiled and thanked me.
