Is pulling without wedging there pretty much a SLDL?

Damn, that sucks to hear man! I wouldn't say with certainty that a wedge and creating tension prior to your PR would've made you succeed, however when it becomes a habitual and trained skill and becomes 'one' with your execution - it can definitely allow for some really good things to happen such as a desirable bar path and knees and hips that extend simultaneously. Keep practicing my man!

Duh…just be part of a high readiness combat unit. PT for cardio and you will lift with your ‘buddies’. Food is taken care of and just add protein shakes if needed. lol, hybrid training…It’s run, ruck and lift…

Thanks so much! This is definitely something a little less spoken of, perhaps you could see this as 'nuance' - but I'm glad you enjoyed it.

How does safety bar squat hold regarding thoracic extension (upper back strength) compared to the back squat and front squat? I suppose the front squat outclasses the back squat in that aspect but I don't know about the safety bar.
@deeptrainingau
@deeptrainingau Год назад
Good question, when I look at the position requirements for the different squats mentioned, the front squat would require a greater thoracic extension compared to the back squat and safety bar squat due to the positions of the arms. I refer to it in the video, the limb arc model. The further the joint is away from the body, the more difficult it becomes to perform with competency and without compensation from other joints. In order I would put Safety Bar Squat, Back Squat, and Front Squat as the progression when looking at the mobility and position demands for each exercise. Hope that helps in answering your question.

Will hypbrid training be beneficial for a beginner? Or should I stick with strength training until I build a good base then try to combine both?
@deeptrainingau
@deeptrainingau Год назад
It definitely can be! It all really does depend on your overall goal, but adding in some conditioning etc to begin with, even for long term strength goals can help with things such as your capacity for work and ability to recover. If you would like a bit more of a comprehensive answer i would love to chat some more about it, shoot me a DM on my instagram @lewi_holcombe

There's a study that has shown improved strength and hypertrophy gains after a phase of dedicated cardio compared to a non-cardio group. Their hypothesis was that it was due to superior capillarisation of the later targeted muscles and larger work and recovery capacity from the get-go... So yes, it might very well be beneficial to start hybrid 🙃

@@maxl.5297 and from what I've seen, people who has good cardiovascular performance (swimmers, marathon runners) get good results in the gym.

Hey Camrin - we're definitely not here to steal content. We might use someone else's videos to add effect or substance to what we're saying. Otherwise, we are only a new channel so expect many more videos in the future where we continue to take deep dive's into training concepts!
