I honestly don't really like the idea that she still dies in remake. They have put so much build up to saving her and changing fate, if they do all that and still have her die, that would be so cold and cruel. If that's their plan they should have just done a 1 to 1 remake. But I just don't see them doing that, especially after rebirth, it seems like they are lining things up for her to be saved. If anyone deserves to live, it's Aerith, she's gone through so much already, she should be able to live and be happy.
You draw a parallel between Cloud and Leslie when you talk about revenge, so what does it represent symbolically if Leslie finds his girlfriend in part 3 ? I find this intriguing, but I think I'm overthinking it.

I know for me it's for the best as well you taking a break, I've probably overindulged to much rebirth content since it dropped. 250 hours played, plenty of follow up content and re watching of scenes and I even watched every single one of your streams with the same joy you had playing it as well. Really enjoyed watching you break down the lore and paying close attention to the symbolism used in your streams as well as the excitement of seeing this game first hand for the first time as a lot of it was for me as well. You definitely made the wait from remake to rebirth a lot more enjoyable by watching all of the videos you put out. Massive fan of your work and commitment to the cause Sleep and I hope your starting to settle in now after some new life changes, really look forward to whatever content you put out next but for now you just take good care of yourself and we'll all have a reunion again soon 😁

Thanks for the update. I figured you'd be busy with whatever but it's good to hear that you're doing well. I imagine we will see some content on Rebirth from you at some undefined point in the future, but honestly, take your time. Videos like that take a whole lot of time and work, I know that much. I'll happily gobble it up if and when you release something, but I can wait. Not like you ever had a fixed content schedule to begin with or anything.
I look forward to the eventual 3 hour video about how the hollow Holy materia is going to be filled with Cloud's memories post lifestream sequence and be the new origin story for the Ultima materia.(my pet shot in the dark "there's no evidence but I feel this in my bones" theory.)

Thanks for the update! I jsut hope you don't feel obligated to only work on longform videos. I think that you make great use of the resources you can access and could make some great shorter vids to explain specific topics or character background in the FF7 Compilation, like the full story on available lore regarding the Deepground facility and more obscure elements like Stagnant Mako, which a lot of new fans really have no clue about since so much of that info was locked behind the online mutliplayer mode. Hope things continue going well for you!

That Protomateria-mysterious yellow orb was one the coolest connections I'd ever heard before. And then in Rebirth, Sephiroth called the Black Materia a key that grants access to the true counterpart hidden between worlds. It may have been a different piece of materia, but now I'd say that was an accurate gold star prediction or interpretation that no one else saw coming Just finished watching all of BC. Was I looking at something wrong, or was Fuhito at times able to morph and change the appearance of his own Avalanche members using the powers of Zirconiade? I feel like these new timelines are implied to be fractures of one original timeline, like pieces breaking off of Gaia's crystal, so to speak. This is different from other multiverses in fiction where timelines multiply in contrast. This is important distinction, because it tells us that Gaia timelines are increasingly unstable. Sephiroth has created a "Reunion" that is both dangerous and necessary.
the games story was so much better without the compilation. the ff7 remakes are at their best in the parts faithful to the original story, all the extra convoluted nonsense just takes away from the original themes of the story.

Think you are right, and now that the second part is out I think that as a result of Sephiroth f*cking with the timeline, the timeline got split in 2. Zack and biggs are trapped in one aspect of it as a result of Zack being severed from Cloud and Cloud in the timeline that's being changed (FF7 Original). Zack in tapped in the future timeline (FF7 remakes timeline) Aerith in that world is in a Coma because her consciousness is telling the Aerith of the past the things that need to happen do stop Sephiroth and Save the life stream from Sephiroths poison. Once all the things that need to change have changed, I think the 2 worlds will merge for the final showdown with Sephiroth. At some point I think Zack will figure out (no doubt as a result of his connection to Watashi Sephiroth) that Cloud and the members of Avalanche are trapped in the previous timeline facing off against Ore Sephiroth. I think that the reason Destiny severed Cloud from Zack is because Zack represents Clouds Failure to become a Soldier like Watashi Sephiroth. Zack was not his inspiration to become a Soldier, Sephiroth was, Cloud Adopted Zacks Persona after his death, to cling to that dream of being a Soldier like his Hero. I think Ore Sephiroth taunting Cloud at the end of part 1 with the words "but what will you do with it" is a Challange to the man Cloud became at the end of the Original game which Sephiroth attributes to Zack and Himself. The reality of the Cloud at the end of 7 original however, was not inspired by Zack and Sephiroth. It was inspired by Aerith and Sephiroth. Zack was only a Persona Cloud mimiced to hide his failure to become a Soldier. A persona he ultimately let go of after him and Tifa, fell into the lifestream. Aerith was Clouds inspiration to kill Ore Sephiroth at the end of 7 not Zack and I think Cloud reconnecting to Zack at the end will be as his equal. That Destiny chose to disconnect Zack so that he does not overshadow Clouds growth at the end of 7 remake. Giving Cloud a second chance to become the Soldier he claimed he was throughout the entire of 7. With the timeline split in 2 Zack is facing off against the echo Watashi Sephiroth (like he did in Crisis Core and in ff7) While Cloud faces full blown Ore Sephiroth in the past that's being changed. Cloud will get to be the hero he became at the end of 7 from the very beginning of remake with Aerith inspiring him all the way. Zack will continue to be Zack, while Cloud becomes the Soldier he always dreamed of being. Then when the 2 world's merge, Sephiroth will face off against them both together. Both inspired by Aerith and Sephiroth.
Rebirth has no meaning. It has multiple universes, multiple timelines, both colliding and merging, it has arbiters of fate who revive dead characters and prevent you from saving thousands. In fact the whispers killed more than Sephiroth killed in Nibelheim and throughout his whole arc past going rogue.

Remake/Rebirth is trying to be more pretentious than Kojima's latest products. It's a fight that no one should want to win. If it takes a 3 hour long video to explain your story then you might need to re-think how well your story was told. Xygor Gaming explained the original FF7's story in nearly 41 minutes and one could understand the themes easily. It shouldn't take 3+ hours to explain or understand your plot.
The irony is that "SOLDIER Honor" doesn't really exist; it's a coping mechanism/pretty lie that keeps SOLDIERs from questioning their actions, their role as Shinra's army of monsters. Zack kills a bunch of Wutaian infantry at the beginning if CC without so much as a flinch. He's swallowed Shinra's propaganda and thinks he's a hero bringing mako energy to Wutai and fighting their backwards government. Zack's character arc peels back the naivety and lies as he learns the horrific truth of Shinra but still copes by clinging to "SOLDIER honor" a thing that doesn't exist but Zack tries to be. His Final Stand where he finally fights back against Shinra isn't SOLDIER honor, per say. SOLDIERs are loyal to Shinra, Zack bit the hand that fed him of his own will and was killed for. He wasn't a SOLDIER at the end, but a true hero. Hero vs Monster isn't just a criticism of SOLDIER. It, like SOLDIER itself, is part of a larger criticism of the military industrial conplex. How the military strips recruits of their humanity and empathy for others. Recruits are trained to be killing machines and view other humans as monsters in turn. Like Zack, the way you regain your humanity is to maintain perspective, stick to your values even when the system tells you otherwise, and ultimately push back against it.
