Outstanding If the passengers could get a TV view of the takeoff ... what would it take to have a modern [spy] camera mounted on the inside window surface above each wing to see the engines and upper wing surface & if any fuel was streaming back behind them? The flight engineer could scope it out immediately. ... Without sending anyone back to peer over passenger shoulders.
“Small aircraft are not closely monitored by atc” is just factually inaccurate. The type of flight plan, not the size of the aircraft determines level of atc control
Many witnesses said the planes were military not commercial. And gray in color. Kicker was it was also said there were no pilots. The amount of cruelty and evil behind it all is very scary to try and comprehend.
This particular Mayday episode first aired 17 February 2014. If you missed it on television then, it's been on youtube multiple times. By no means, is this a 'new' episode.
To get a C-5 on the ground, you have to push the column forward hard to overcome the huge ground effect. Looks like that AF experience came back as muscle memory due to fatigue.
My Uncle knew JFK Jr, and was a private aircraft pilot as well. He said no doubt RFK Jr was probably really upset having to leave late. He said had they left on time everything would have probably been ok, but my Uncle was upset he had passengers along without the wider experience.
I will save everyone some time. JFK Jr. didn't have the experience to pilot a Piper Saratoga-it is a complex aircraft in the $300k range. Another pilot offered to come with him. It was dark with poor visibility, he didn't trust the instrumentation and had spatial disorientation. Very irresponsible. I know everyone loves him but he caused the accident.
As a man with a mother and a sister and more than one female cousin, I've learned early on that if you want them there at 8, tell them you need them there at 6. They'll show up around 7:30.
Anyone else remember the Cerritos auto square commercials lol if you lived in this area roughly and watched tv they always played commercials for car dealers in the "Cerritos Auto Square!!' lol this is crazy though 4 years before I was alive so I hadn't even heard this one and I lived right there!
JFK Jr....was wonderful. Handsome, talented yet failed his Bar exam and took the jokes. Loved him....Kennedy curse my Grandma said. Not him but the sins of others in his tree. Heartbreaking.
