"Welcome to 'Starting In Te Reo Māori' - Your Gateway to Language Revival and Cultural Reconnection! 🌱
I'm Grant Whitbourne, the founder of this empowering initiative. 'Starting In Te Reo Māori' is more than just a channel; it's a movement dedicated to preserving the enduring legacy of Te Reo Māori, the indigenous language of Aotearoa New Zealand.
My personal journey, originating from Australia but deeply connected to the Te Whānau-a-Apanui heritage, is at the heart of this channel. I intimately understand the challenges that new learners face when embracing a language pivotal to their culture but often shrouded in confusion.
Through my transformative experience of reconnecting with Te Reo, I found a profound purpose. Now, as a loving parent, I'm on a mission to pass on this invaluable heritage to my children and create a bridge for others to embark on the same journey.📚
Ty for this as it helps us tremendously while we're learning te reo just amazing knowing we can put a sentence together and reply back goosebumps moments ngā mihi koe uce❤
Kia ora Grant! I'm moving to Aotearoa this October. Your videos are so incredibly helpful especially when it comes to pronunciation. Thank you so much, I'm gonna be scrolling through your channel religiously!
Every language I’ve encountered has some fiddly little aspect like this and it’s always really fun to untangle. Appreciate this explanation, I think I’m finally starting to get my head around it. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe!
This is me every time I try to speak any of the languages I’m studying to a native speaker. 🙈 I try so hard but always stumble and I get so embarrassed.
I’m always speaking the reo just little phrases that I know, or singing waiata to my moko’ she’s loves it! Thankful for this page! Now I can learn more and korero Māori to her so she learns as well’ she’s only 9 months, but teaching them young aye! 🤗
Good tutorial brother! I'm an Indian who loves Maori songs especially during cultural events. Thought I should learn to play a couple of songs and this tutorial is good.
Singing has been a winner for me. Finding Maori songs with lyrics, listening to them while I'm doing other things. Getting much better with pronunciation overall as I find patterns in the songs ❤
It's not overly severe, but everyone has their limits when it comes to tolerance. Your tolerance level seems exceptionally high compared to most people. The downside is that you've become dependent on coffee; without it, you might experience irritability due to withdrawal symptoms. Consuming 10 cups a day indicates a significant habit, suggesting you may struggle to function without coffee. That is what the problem is. * If you add Sugar (Tablespoon) that's Half a cup a sugar everyday. Healthy amount of Sugar a day is 3 teaspoons: 10 cups coffee= half a cup of sugar= 36 teaspoons. So yes, depends on how you live your life it can be unhealthy, or very unhealthy, The only healthy benefit is gone after the first cup
I love coffee. But more than 2 cups through out the day and I'm shaking, sweating, heart racing and super tired at the same time. The stuff just makes me crash and burn.
