The original is better. This one dilutes the intensity of the original and feels a bit sloppy. The orginal is perfect and a masterpiece. I disagree with everyone saying this is better. But it's fun to hear it.
I agree in some ways. I compare it to the unedited versions of Darling Nikki and 17 Days/ Sometimes less is more, even vocally, although it is quite remarkable to have had this one on the bootlegs. You appreciate it the most for his passion and emotion, if anything else.
when I was combing record stores in the late 80's - this was my absolute favourite unreleased song...this was a perfect transition song from his "Private Joy" buoyancy during Controversy, with some sensibilities that could have been done by the time. If someone asks me my favourite Prince track on the street - very good chance it is this.

Brenda Bennett (Vanity 6, Apollonia 6, + solo artist) is actually doing backing vocals along with The Revolution. Every time I hear this song, I have to listen to “A Million Miles (I Love U)” by Apollonia 6…And suddenly, I find myself in an endless loop of listening to both songs back-2-back; only to fall into a Paisley rabbit hole 💜💜💜
Sitting here stunned, listening to this full, unedited version for the 1st time, having listen to the regular version literally hundreds of times, I am just beginning to realize what I've missed. Be be honest, I doubt very few people will get to know, understand the breadth, width and depth of Prince or Michael's Genius. Prince truly had much more in his cache than many will ever know. RIP. Prince really studied exhaustively the classics and after one listen he can play it again without missing a note. Sonny T had that talent too. They can absorb and comprehend all the concepts in the fastest manner. Obviously They practised long enough to master their instruments too.
I remember back in (84,,,????) the only place I could find this song was a juke-box ( look it up) in 'Frisco, at a semi-deli. (Good Cheese Sandwiches & fries.)
This is a great BB King song, but the echo ruins it. Disappointing, IMO. Not one of Prince's best. Listen to BB's version if you want to really hear the song.
