Good video! aside from there's no need to adjust the collision type (simple as complex) in the menu after you generate a convex collision. That's the default behavior. I tried the Physical layout tool, a while back, and honestly I couldn't get it work the way it was shown off in the videos. It barely functioned, and I had to fidget with it constantly. This video is great for clarifying the functionality, so thank you. Also, Unreal has a basic version of this functionality built in already, it's just really not well known. You can turn on simulate physics on any static mesh or group of meshes, select them all and hit simulate, then just press k to save the state (translation) when you stop simulating. Much easier to use, albeit not quite as user friendly since it's a hotkey and requires you to manually enable and disable the simulate flag for it to work.
have you had any issues with tesellation not blending across components? it looks like my UVs are offset a little on every component so i get some sheering along the component edges
Nothing seems to be working in UE 5.4 with fracture in the sequencer. Shows up fine in the preview but will not record the chaos fracture to video. Any Help?
For those whose puddle isnt visible take some dark color as your blendmaterial and sometimes if isnt visible then see it from a distance it might work.
Hey, I am new to unreal engine. Can we get the realistic rigid body destruction simulations with Unreal, like other softwares like maya, houdini, c4d. I am planning to use it for filmmaking. I haven't seen any tutorial or video which has robust workflow for these destruction simulations. Even the unreal engine showcase video doesn't feel like the softwares can achieve. So should i spend time learning this chaos system or use my older setups for these types of simulations? Thank You.
Fantastic, but the cache works until I hit render. Then it loses the cache, and cant reproduce it. Made sure it was saved and all. Still cant render it. Any ideas the hell is going on?
Hello! Thanks for great video. Tell me please, how fix 'landscape physical material needs to be rebuilt' in Unreal Engine 5.3.2? I'm try: - rebuild the landscape - redefine the physical material. - If I remove one square of landscape, one less error becomes one less error
Won't hardware ray tracing when available, improve performance on lumen? You didn't enable that option but still went and turned off hardware ray tracing shadows..
I get to 7:55 in the tutorial . I go to simulate move the bomn I have the same settings for use bomb with zero delay and it works in the record mode. Then when i switch to static pose to view the cached recording nothing happens. I am using 5.4.1. Any ideas on how to fix this?
im having the same issue and did what you did, installing the plugin and everything, im also on 5.4 but still nothing is being recorded, do u know why that could be happening?
Wow! This seems exactly what i need for my video sequence, but i don't understand why ChaosCacheManager is not working. It works only in record mode, but when i use the "static pose" one nothing happens :(
