This channel originally started out for my Nerf blaster modifications, but as time went on and modding changed, I dropped off.
But I was prompted to come back and post stuff about my current and previously dormant hobbies. 3D printing, model/miniature painting, and board games. So this will be more focused on those topics and may have Nerf tie-ins.
I'm currently running: Ender 3 (mainly stock) Elegoo Mars
But this still holds true about the Nerf community:
"This has been a great hobby and I was happy to find all the various communities where I was able to meet (online or in-person) a lot of great people who share the same passion and not take this hobby too seriously. Jump in and find out more."
@@pixy1901 I don't have the plastic model, but it would be a good start for a replacement. If you have a GW store nearby, see if they have the plastic version to compare. I tried looking online but no one has compared the two for size.
What if you put the strap in the middle of where the mag holders are and run it across your back in a more X pattern? That way it's on the other side of your head and removes the ability to let the strap fall off your arm? TURTLE MODE!
NERF NERD tactical talk if you were a child this wold be aw cute , dude level up ~ get into air 'soft' or paintball , or go totally bonkers get a one way ticket to the middle east
Modifying blasters is a fun and silly hobby. I don't consider paintball or air soft a level up, but that's subjective. Also, the middle east is too hot though I do enjoy the dry heat versus muggy any day. Hope you have a great day!
@@popatachi have you been mugged from behind at paintball and had a ball go 300 foot per second sip inside the mask and burst against your cheek , teeth and lip from arms length ? i have but yeah fear the foam dart gun with age 5 + molded into the plastic
Thanks! The ebay find was purely chance and it's nice to have the option especially with the SBF. Apparently I have a heavy trigger finger. :D Gotta be patient.......
I saw that thumbnail and was like what? Who’s posting a doomsayer vid? Haha. I remember when you did this mod. I’ve still got mine in stock form. Never got around to modding it and now they’re pretty much obsolete sadly. still fun though, I’d like to get around to it still one day. My fav turreted blaster is my hypertech 2000. It’s similar to make it go’s hypermaxx 1500. I mashed a dart tag hyper fire and an air tech 2000 together. I miss turret blasters. They look so cool when modded with the long barrels sticking out the front. They were fun to mod too. Was always satisfying taking things like the at3k that was basically garbage to start and seeing it transform into the beasts that they can be.
@@popatachi yeah. This is the blast I wanted as a kid and I know that because I like it as an adult. When I found the hammershot I thought that was really cool and it still is but this is everything I wanted the hammershot to be except I wish the hammer could be more like the orange mod works downturned hammer to make getting my thumb around it easier
@@SmartFool24 it can be a stretch to get to the hammer. My son loves this and probably has the same thoughts as you on it. He immediately had to get this when he saw mine.
Can wait to get one of these. I love that dart zone put out the files for free for extra cylinders as well as a file for a holster for this blaster. I think this an either my dart zone stryker or xshot longshot will make a soild loadout. I also have nerf rival pilot which is my last ditch blaster. It is also my savaging blaster as it can fire half darts, regular darts, a shotgun blast of 3 half darts, rival balls, 50 cal balls, mega darts, and mega xl. My dart zone stryker can also fire mega xl thanks to the scar barrel i put on it. The xshot longshot can also fire mega xl with the included scar barrel. You just have to remove the muzzle brake piece from the scar barrel.
@popatachi me neither too much. I mean I got into the hobby only a few years ago and I have a couple Hammershots. But I just got that new Ninja Turtles Sweet Revenge and man is that a comfortable blaster.
@@skye1491 I've not used cylinder blasters in a game before. Hopefully additional ones would be cheap to get. And an ejection lever for the cylinder would be a nice mod.
I don’t know if you will read this but I really like this idea and I’m looking forward to making use of it. I just would like to see how it works on a Modern-day blaster. See I have my beloved retaliator in which I’ve spent about $150 dollars but I want to take it to the next level using short lenght darts with my standard 12 round mags. I love the look Of those and the way they complete the overall aestethic
Haha! I get it. It was what we had at the time. I don't think there was any manual pump that was small and able to fill that tank in one pump. Either way, there were times that people tried this out and were surprised it was an air blaster and not a regular springer. 😜
Unfortunately, I don't have a video on that. But bending is easy if you have three things. The form for the styrene to conform to, a heat gun with a low setting, and gloves. You'll want to slowly sweep the heat gun across the styrene about 3 - 6 inches away. When the styrene gets soft bend it to the form and hold it there. Make sure you have gloves on. The heat may frost the clear a little, but I used this method to make a wing for my RC car which worked well. Test it out of a scrap piece first and you should get the hang of it pretty quickly.
Good stuff! Glad to see people still care for these things! I modded mine by following NOM's old guide about 5 years ago and recently fielded it. Still amazing!
@@popatachi I bet. LOL When I fielded mine, I was mainly around young kids and I don't think any of them knew what it was. In fact, one of them was a 12 year old and he seemed kind of confused about why I was pumping it and I had to explain to him how it worked and that you don't really see them much anymore. Can't blame them for not knowing though because the blaster itself was older than everyone there and air blasters were pretty much phased out by the time they were old enough to play with them. I say that, but of course we have the Motoblitz and boy am I happy to see another air blaster again.
Thanks getting your honest thoughts out! Great critique and glad you're enjoying it! I'd love to know the kind of performance you're getting with your spring spacer + the new barrel. Love the safety delete too. The more I use mine, the more I notice the exposed screws as you mentioned. I might try to look into that at some point soon. As far as the AFG goes, I actually use a Magpul M-Lok AFG on my model these days! 😂 I still like the 'Spud Grip' I developed as a more minimal option, but it definitely is minimal. I like it because it takes less print time and allows for multiple setups unlike a traditonal AFG. Couldn't remember if you had a printer, but I can always send you some files if you want to switch up those colors in the future!
No problem. This is a really awesome kit. It's nice for the kit to come with a compact grip though. I'll check out the Magpul. And I do have a printer! 😁 Oh and I totally forgot to add fps readings. I'll let you know about those.
Very nice. I got a different pump kit a couple years ago with a pistol grip. I almost like it more than my nexus. Seems to have more mod potential, slightly more compact and it’s more compatible with magazines. The priming bar on the nexus interferes with some magazines and the Aeon doesn’t have this issue. The ability to de prime is also a nice side affect of the mod.
I've heard that more recently about the Aeon vs the Nexus. I picked this up specifically for HvZ use and it's definitely a great compact blaster for sure.
Dude, this kit is pretty nice. a pump grip for the Aeon, I remember at first being like, nah.... but then they have grown on me, this is definitely one of the nicer ones I've seen.
Yeah, I didn't think it needed a pump grip, but once it was on the field, it's really the first upgrade you need to make it a better experience. And this is a great kit.
