Hello all and Welcome to our Channel! Here on our channel we show you all anything from morning chores, chickens, baking over coals, wood stove videos, fabrication videos, talks, and just in general our lives as a family of 7 living life off the grid. Times are rough but this truly is the best life!
Been trying to convert a rough 220k to kero. Preheated cup was easy, can't get but a small flame at the mantles. Remedies include using a 200a tip and losing off the easy start circuit.
Nice work! You MAY want/need/like going to a slightly larger mantle or smaller gas tip in your generator. Kerosene is denser in energy and can over-drive/overburn the mantles. I don't mean to insult your intelligence or experience here, but overburn is when you see a halo of flame outside the mantle. You can also just not pump it up as much, but that's a pain in the ass. Also play with air inlets by partially blocking/unblocking them until you find the "sweet spot" where they burn cleanest and brightest. These were engineered to run on fuels with specific energy content for the optimum fuel/air ratio and the mantles to burn it for maximum brightness. It's not a huge difference though and should run fine. You may not get as many hours of operation out of the generator before it needs cleaning, but that's pretty easy with a propane torch to burn off the crap that builds up in all GPAs. Hope this will be of some help to you. Have a super weekend.
Thank you VERY MUCH for this. You are wonderful! I have three front teeth needing the same work you had done - because of an accident like you. This was the best, honest detailed video - took courage and you deserve all the praise in the World. We are blessed to have you around! So thanks again.
Hi your video saved me alot of frustration on inserting for the first time, my dentist did not show me at all yesterday on how to remove or insert, they said because it was acting like a bandaid?!?! So they sent me on my way and said do your best.Last night i managed to get it out, do you recommend any way to easily dislodge it? Im afraid i may break it, i watched how you inserted the flipper and i was immediately sucessful!!!!!! Can you tell me your method of removal? I will only take as your option and anything that happens to my flipper is my sole responsibility not yours, Thank you, David
I've noticed RVers aren't the most technical bunch; they are more "people people". I have a theory handymen aren't the type to enjoy doing the computer video and social media aspect which comes with sharing on RU-vid. It now actually surprises me when I see a man sharing technical info online. Funny thing is that my brilliant mechanical buddies consult the web, but don't contribute their own tips and tricks. I encourage them, but it's like pulling teeth - like having to wear a suit and tie. Oh yeah, I remember - boys hate readin'. Males ain't verbal, they're visual. You're just expected to know how to read their mind.
I'm going to go through this my dear I just hope that they do it and not try to tempt me into getting it fixed because this is the third attempt I'm not doing it so out it will come 😭 and right now like the pain is getting worse what I mean by that is well you know you probably experienced it and just because of the roots in my tooth is still alive it is going to hurt and I am in pain so like the pain is going to be every three increase every three times so it was 3:00 now its 6:00 I know it's 8:50 p.m. and it still hurts so I know what you're going through I'm going to go through what you're going through yes and I talked with the list too
You are amazing for this video! Gave me hope and comfort. Most importantly you gave great advice and support for people in this situation…Thanks again!
I have a partial for my front tooth but it's not working out. This is week 2 and it still dont fit and pops out when I eat.ive had 2 adjustments and still it's not working. I got back next week. It's no fun that's for sure
crazy idea instead of paying dumbass Insurance put that money aside into another bank account every month so we don’t have to go through all the hassle to find a place that will cover costs. it’s the stupidest shit
that type of flipper is just a temporary thing meant to be used for a few weeks or months …depending on fast you heal….or till the guns heals completely ….and as time goes by it will become less manageable do to the changes in your own gums……it will feel very loose…at that point you will need a flipper that will not absorb any fluids or trap any mouth bacteria in the moth…and the new flipper should be the of Valplast type of flipper and material…which is a nylon based product and does not absorb any fluids and it’s 100% more esthetic and has 100% better retention and functionality……but the trick is…….it all depends on how much clinical experience the technician who. makes it has….and it can be the very best flipper that you can get and it’s also a material that never breaks in the moth expect maybe a tooth from the flipper but it’s also very rare…..on the other hand if the valplast flipper is done by someone with out any long term experience e making this type of prosthesis then you might have to go multiple times for adjustments specially if they are not properly done from the start….including the type of impression used to make it…..and all flippers are not made the same way and the one you are wearing is not meant to be a functional or confiable appliance it was just made as a “cosmetic-appliance” to get you by for the moment.when you were a young girl and nothings else…it has already outlived its purpose……and not all the doctors work the same way either…..but you will have to do some research of your own ….to make sure you don’t end up with a similar type all over again…….
I will be having my front tooth removed and I've been crying for weeks but this makes me feel a little better. I still currently have all 32 of my teeth but my big front tooth is dead and yes, i have bone loss. So will likely do the same as you can get it a single plate denture. The only question I have for you is, did you not get a bone graft first?
Interesting idea with the copper plates. If the stove wasn’t working well with the top baffle maybe there was something else going on. How tall is your chimney? Maybe not enough draft?
I have the Jotul F45 and Jotul 602. I run them the same way you do but I prefer to leave a good layer of ash in the stove. It helps insulate the coals in the back of the stove and gives a longer burn.
I recently purchased a 1976 Jotul 118 at an estate sale. It was only used five or six winters and is in great shape. The online manual describes what you explain here (start fires at the front) but your video was much better. Thanks very much for sharing this. If you have tips for cooking on top of this particular stove, I'd love to hear them. Our stove still has the original heat shields inside. Not modified as yours is.
I load mine up before I go to bed and it lasts for about eight hours. They are made to stay alight in fact on the front of mine there is inscribed a prayer saying it should always keep burning. Mine is about fifteen years old and since I've had it we never use c.h. I wouldn't say it overheats the house but then I have a large house.
I greatky appreciate you, i have to get my #9 front top tooth pulled bc its super loose from something that happened 10 years ago. And im getting a flipper till i can afford 4k implants lol. I truly appreciate you
I just got a 118 of Craig’s and am figuring this stove out also. Seems you could what works for you. The cook top arches and isn’t flat on mine. Did you ever get a 1/8 arc in it from the heat with no top baffle? Alex
Can I just say, it makes me incredibly happy to see everyone's hair put up in a bun while working in the kitchen/cooking food. ❤❤❤❤❤ I haven't used an oven in about three years. We cook outside on gas, we heat with our woodstove inside. We are building our tiny house, my big nice oven is sitting in the tiny house waiting for us to install it. We are at the wiring stage of things. I can't wait to cook in an oven again. I will never take it for granted. ❤ However I am happy to be learning how to do without one. This is our third winter with our woodstove too. I will never go back to the city. I love my $30 a month electric bill in the dead of winter.
