I am so glad to find this wonderful clip yet sad that in all of the years of living in Whitbourne and having a lifelong interest in railways, I didn't really know about this project! It's very nice to see Roger again, Bob and Bill. Best wishes, Andy
Great video! Camerawork was excellent. Music was perfect for this and quite nice. Lovely to see these vehicles still running and being loved and cared for.
I have the DORLING KINDERSLEY DK EYEWITNESS GUIDES Book of TRAIN. Discover the story of railways - from the days of steam to the high - speed, sophisticated trains of today.
I enjoy saying it: Talyllyn is my favorite of her namesake railroad’s steam locomotives. Hope to see her in person soon. On a side note, do any of you guys pronounce the locomotive and namesake railroad’s name as “TAL-i-hlinn” or “TALLY-clin”? I pronounce it as the former.
I don't know if any of the good people involved in this little railway are still active, in spite of the line being massively overgrown now, but it would be great to see it alive again. If you wanted some help - I am still useful as a sixty year old and own a good chainsaw, lopper and so forth - I would be delighted to offer my help for nothing to try and clear the line again. George Johnson, 32, Linton Court, Bromyard. PS: The old Tile Works is so close to me, and Linton Court's boundary is adjacent to the Tile Works end of the line ...
One of the lovely things about steam power is that it can be so lovingly quiet compared to ICE. Just mechanical noise and the chuff of exhausting steam if you aren't condensing.
