It's another one of those blasted Australian history RU-vid channels.
I firmly believe in a mantra of "No more lazy history."
By this, I mean that events and definitions should be examined and used correctly and that, above all, context matters.
I hope you enjoy your stay here and learn a thing or two. As always, research is key, so if you want to disagree with me, that is okay, but do your due diligence and back it up with sources.
If you have an idea for a video, just leave a comment, and I will have a look.
It boggles me. There are a hell of a lot of people here in the US who believe we are being invaded through our southern border and the outrage is palpable. It is driving Trump's popularity more than anything else. Yet most of these same people, including Trump himself, spare not a modicum of that outrage for the sake of people fighting against an actual military invasion and occupation of their country, and steadfastly proclaim that the war in Ukraine is none of our business. The hypocrisy is staggering, particularly for those who claim themselves to be on the side of morality and uprightness. This is Ukraine's war for independence. Perhaps Lafayette, Von Steuben, and Kosciuszko should have stayed home during ours and let us fend for ourselves.
My man this video his like a truck, and I really mean it. As a Ukrainian I am so happy to see people who truly understand the scale of absurdity of this war. We have been given guarantees of freedom and safety and west just left us when we needed help in 2014 and now we can't strike bloody russian airports because of "escalation". Oh you can't even imagine how i despise that word, the whole concept of it. But I am grateful for every single bullet and penny of help, it really matters. Thanks for spreading the truth my man, and I hope we'll see the end of this terrible and unfair war.
I hope that lots of people will watch this video, it's so important. It made me cry, but that's not the important thing. The really important thing is to support Ukraine. And we can! Please, let's all donate whatever we can, let's call our representatives every day!
don't forget when saying we should give weapons to Ukraine russias haves over 5,580 nuclear warheads sorry but i dont want to die in england for ukraine
If you think Russia is going to use nukes you've fallen for Putin's lies. How many redlines have been crossed already and not a single nuke has been launched. If Russia was going to use a nuke, they would likely fire a tactical nuke (smaller yield) on Ukraine, if they were to fire a nuke at the UK they are going to get many more fired back at them from the US, UK, and France. Russia is only using its nuclear arsenal as a bluff to try and deter further support, with how poorly things are going for the Russians with the conditional support Ukraine is getting you can see why rattling their nuclear sabres at NATO is part of the game plan for Putin. You can be scared, I don't blame you, but remember Putin wants you scared because he wants support for Ukraine to be unpopular.
I didn't know the Imperial Russian Navy was this much of a $#@! up. I just thought that they were so incompetent that they just couldn't find their a**es with both hand even if they sat on them. Thank you for correcting my misunderstanding.
Hey! Thank you for your work! You nailed the point about our motivation. As for smiles that hides pain. I would say this way. I became older for about 50 years in this 2.5 years. And most of Ukrainians are much better understanding our grandparents, who went over ww2. Greetings from Kharkiv!
I'll never understand how people can sit and proclaim to others about the sins of 'escalation' and the phantom of nuclear war when Moscow has no escalation left bar that option and while they're a lot of awful things, suicidal isn't one of them. What they're scared of is their escalation being matched because they would fold quick.
I just responded to a comment basically doing that. This war would have been over much sooner had Ukraine been given the support it needed from the jump. There hasn't been a peep out of the Russian ICBM silos anytime a redline has been crossed, it's frustrating seeing them still being treated as anything but empty bluster after the first couple had been crossed.
The fact that this video needed be made and many people that should have watch it will still unabashedly support Russia because "muh American Imperialism bad" makes me angry in a way that i can't begin to describe.
Can I ask a question? You said that the West could effectively end the war in a couple of hours. How could they do this? We have tried sanctions which are not really working. The only way I can think of, without actually going to war, would be to totally cut off all commerce and trade with Russia AND pledging to provide any weapons that Ukraine wants. Unfortunately I don’t even think that this would work in a couple of hours. I fear that Russia would be able to limp on with help from China, Iran and North Korea. While every situation is unique, it is hard not to draw comparisons between what is happening in Eastern Europe and what is happening in the Middle East. It seems appeasement is the easy option
I agree with everything in this video. Perhaps now we can have one dedicated to the memory of just one out of the tens of thousands in Gaza, also murdered by a missile for the crime of existing. Or is it too soon to make such a video, if indeed this idea ever ceases to be a heresy and a thoughtcrime?
This video hits hard man. Especially at the end. Thanks for your honesty and kind heart. Thanks for recognizing how tough a life for Ukrainians really is.
My Polish partner comes from a border city next to Belarus-she can understand and read some Russian, Ukrainian and German too (as well as some other languages she can't speak but will pretty much understand where someone is from in other central and Eastern Europe)-she would kill me if I seriously tried to suggest she is anything other than Polish. I'm extremely relieved she lives here in Scotland and has for 10yrs. Oh and she speaks English very well (she sometimes says some extremely local words to this area as well which always makes me laugh in a good way because there're people in my city who speak no Doric and always lived here lol). We have quite a lot of Ukrainians here in my city for its size and I hope they can go home soon or live here permanently if they want. Sadly that's not up to Scotland though since we're still tied to Westminster
I love videos like this. A guy with an English accent talks about "Russia's shame"....the idiot should probably go to the nearest library and read all the books about English colonization that caused HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF PEOPLE to die and suffer!!! To this day, the English people's shame can be seen all over the world. Entire continents were robbed and raped. First look in the mirror you unintelligent pile of trash... PS. i just found a "little" number about india. ONE COUNTRY....O N E : Economic anthropologist Jason Hickel and his co-author Dylan Sullivan estimate that India suffered excess mortality of 165 MILLION PEOPLE due to British colonialism between 1880 and 1920 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well... It's something cathartic hearing someone from the west, when they say about Russia's crimes. As a Pole... We know. Fins know. Lithuanians know. Every country in Central and Eastern Europe knows what is a "Russian mir". We ARE NOT "brothers" with Russians. We never were, we are not and we will never be. Russia is a country made from bones of it's victims. Russian propaganda twist and maim history and use it against people like me. Poles, Fins, Ukrainians. I don't give a shit about Volhynian Massacre. Why? Because russians and pro russian proxies are using it to make Poles hate Ukrainians. And you know what? Ukraine plans an exhumation of the victims in 2025. Because people, ordinary people from Polish-Ukrainian Reconciliation Association are doing this. Not nationalistic politicians (from Poland, where "Confederetion" is using it to spread russian lies or politicians from ukrainian "Svoboda" which most likely would like to act that this never happened).
This war is so senseless, and it's almost as if my brain refuses to let go of this unbelievably large well of sadness as it collects images of families now dead. How any military can justify using a fucking missile on someone's house just goes to show how evil Russia has become, and made worse by their absolute denial. They would have us believe Ukraine is responsible, when we've tracked the flightpath from one of their units. Their list of war crimes just continues to grow and no-one seems to give a shit.
21:22 Ha! They really are the Gondor of our world. Fighting to defend their lands and the realms of men against the Orcs. Thankfully without the insane Steward in charge. Slava Ukraini
I cannot get LazerPig’s words out of my head; “they are living life every day as if it’s their last” and sometimes it is. to final victory, God be with the brave Ukrainian people. 🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Hey Ubejashka!! Thank u for 30% of your country))) Why the long face??! Did u finally started to realize NOBODY in the world cares about your poor undeveloped country ( now with its infrastructure gone)😂😂 Oh, how about some shame that thousands are running away daily through the boarder and your 50 y.o. are being dragged from the streets like animals!? 😅😅 Any shame in being the poorest country in Europe ? Since 2015? No shame in that your leader begs for everything? Money, weapons support?))) Shto s ebalom, hohliatina?) Geranku?😅
I've never commented on a video before but felt compelled to now... I'm a Ukrainian American, born in Odessa, and came to the US as a child. I'm Russian speaking and occasionally get told, well, if you speak Russian, you're Russian... I also have felt a nagging guilt for the last two years. Thank you for vocalizing my feelings into words about both topics so very eloquently. Slava Ukraini!
I hope they know many in america do stand with them but we have some problems going on here as you are well aware. Fuck Russia is still a popular saying and im so sorry that our politicians have caused so much suffering in Ukraine
As ukrainian i can't explain how greatful i am for this video. And honestly for all the videos you did about Ukraine. But this. I haven't expected this. You going here yourself. And not just Lviv, thst is safer, though nit completely safe bc here its nowhere really is right now. But yes, going to Kharkiv. And even Chornobyl. It means a lot. Thank you for your support, your message touched me to tears.
As a Ukrainian - thank you. Most people I know haven't been able to cry for a while now, you just go numb after endless weeks of all that happens here, day in day out. But the end of your video did bring me close to choking up. I want you to know it's important for us to see videos and actions like these. Cause every day there's a deep temptation to start seeing the world as a cynical, pointless, jumbled, savage place. Thanks for creating reminders that there's more to it.
Thank you very much for what you do. This video is very important and it is extremely important now, before the elections, when we are under pressure to lean towards "peace". Thank you to all the people who, even being so geographically far away from us, have a big heart and a clear mind to help Ukraine. Those who are sure that by refusing to help Ukraine, they are bringing peace closer, you are mistaken. Impunity breeds permissiveness. By avoiding to punish the guilty now, preferring to do nothing, the Western world risks finding itself in a situation where dictatorships will knock on their door with sharpened knives in their hands and democracies will have to fight. But by that time, the situation may have worsened significantly, by that time there will already be too many victims. Vain victims that could have been avoided by delaying the inevitable responsibility.
