What would be a better recommendation? Got this monitor a few days ago and couldn't find many reviews. Now I see this and a bit bummed I spent so much only for it to not have HDMI 2.1 and a few other things (good or bad)
Great tutorial. In any case, new gpus don't have that much leeway. You'll be hitting a limit no matter what you do. Instability will start to happen way before you hit those newly expanded limits though. even though you pump more voltage, after you go above a certain clock speed, the GPU will start to crash. No matter what. Especially the lower end models. They aren't as highly binned. So don't expect to get a suprim or something high end performance on a lower spec model.
Try out the program novideo_srgb. It takes advantage of a hidden feature of Nvidia gpus that will clamp the standard mode down to srgb or dci-p3 with perfect gamma. I used it to fix the washed out peicewise srgb gamma creator mode uses. Standard mode uses the correct 2.2
Out of all the videos explaining this process that I've seen this is the best one for me. I always come back to it when i need it. Thank you for uploading this!
Do you think the cause of the eye strain could be fixed with a software update or does the monitor itself have to be changed? I’m contemplating getting this because I’m usually fine when it comes to eyestrain and the specs on this monitor is just too tempting.
Got the monitor, and yea it's pretty Zorz. But one thing I would like to add is that DSC also disables Integer Scaling, which is pretty useful for older games that dont support higher resolutions. These new OLED monitors are amazing, but I feel they're not quite ready yet because we can only take full advantage of them with DP 2.1 or HDMI 2.1. No eyestrain issues here btw. Cant wait for your next video dude!
Subbed. You are a very silly guy. Silly recognizes silly. Also, the production quality is very good. I will be rewatching this when my Alien Vision gets here tomorrow.
Brother, you are a champion and funny. I have a question. I have a msi gaming x slim 4080 card. I want to burn a version of suprim x because I'm stuck in overclocking. According to what I checked, the hdmi and displayport ports are the same and there are 3 fans. I should be fine? And if I burn I need to be on silent mode?
Believe me Samsung does NOT care about your retina. I believe it’s the combination of pulsation and ineffective coating. Yes reducing blue light helps, but other monitors are fine with the same color profile. The thing about Samsung is that it has history of doing things when they are already fully of the problems.
I'm just trying to do this, and this is the error in the process of flashing : ERROR: Detecting GPU failed. Nvflash CPU side error Code:2Error Message: Falcon In HALT or STOP state, abort uCode command issuing process.
www.techpowerup.com/312631/nvidia-bios-signature-lock-broken-vbios-modding-and-crossflash-enabled-by-groundbreaking-new-tools?cp=4 I just looked into this briefly so be very careful but it sems they have locked down the newer cards... which really sucks. This might help.
That monitor have lowest input lag in the world... with complete system from mouse to monitor only 15msec while fastest TN panel zowie and asus 540hz 19-20msec... Oled 480hz dual mode 19msec or 360hz oled.. 19msec..
I have the MSI version and it's killing my eyes. I don't know what to do because I can't live with the CPC on the WOLED ones. That's another issue no one mentions.
That shit is still on on the new 27 inch one? That's one of the main reasons I had to get rid of mine because it made using it for anything other than gaming a fucking nightmare. And yes, the eye issue isn't tolerable. Personally I'm back on a TN panel.
I gave clash artifacts of chaos a go and wow it's amazing, just wondering how you got it to run so smoothly.. seem to be getting awful unreal engine stutter and microstuttering
@@ZorzGaming 4090/13700k , both stock, 32gb 6400mhz, it was an amazing gams but just so annoying constnstly stuttering, I do get this on other unreal engine 4 games to be fair. - I do have the first zeno clash ready to go and will play it soon.
@@fin4658 That sounds super odd and it shouldn't be happening. There's gotta be some setting to be played with cause we have basically the same computer....
I even have the Alienware 34 dwf ( thanks to your review ) but just had to deal with constant stuttering throughout my clash playthough. Perhaps some sort of Nvidia setting causing problems
Fantastic review. Can you tell me if you are still using the 157 Hz 10-bit setting, or is the 165 Hz 10-bit setting viable? Based on various Reddit threads and your video, people are saying the 165 Hz 10-bit setting is not true 10-bit but rather just a UI configuration. What are your feelings on this? Have you tested it?
When I did my testing I found it not to actually be working. Someone may have found a work around but I don't know for sure. I've been really obsessed with the Zowie 540hz Dyac 2. Btw - Thank you!! Really appreciate it! Love having you in the Zorz Militia!
@@ZorzGaming Thanks Zorz, I did the testing with the various grading tools, it does indeed look like true 10 bit is working now. Absolutely loving this monitor!
29:13 I can relate to that, I've been playing nothing but older games. But thankfully it's worth revisiting older games on this monitor, I ordered mine not long ago and I cant wait to replay Bioshock at 360fps with inky black levels and responsive controls. I feel like we're at the perfect time to fully take advantage of those games on modern hardware and displays.
Hi gyus.I bought HDMI 2.1 but I can't choose 360 hertz, I'm limited to 144 in windows, the control panel in games, the highest I can choose is 144 hertz. The card I use is Rx 6900xt can you help me?
If the video card doesn't support full hdmi 2.1 it wont work. I am unfamiliar personally with Radeon cards but I know the 4080 and 4090 work well with it.
It doesn't utilize the full capability of the HDMI 2.1 port. The hdmi 2.1 port isn't just on or off it has many many different aspects of it that can be programmed to be used or not.
wow, staring at a very bright screen up close causes eye strain?! who would've guessed! sarcasm aside, this isn't an issue with any specific brand of monitors.
If I understand correctly the problem is eyes strain because of glossy surfaces coating of the screen and and it magnifies the light from screen directly into your eyes - *the same shit happening when you accidentally watch on welding (please never watch on welding without eyes safety mask or glasses).* And as I understand you don’t have this issue with a 21:9 QD-OLED monitor where is added more layer that gives you additional to horizontal and vertical also diagonal refractors - *buy 3M company’s matte film for cover your display for $30* - may be it will be helpful.
Wow! That's a very interesting theory and sounds very probable. I actually got an email from Alienware trying to figure it out - so they still don't know either.
I just got this monitor and I have a Radeon 6900XT. I first used this monitor with DisplayPort and now I tested it with HDMI which seems to better. However with 240 hz in 1440p there is no 12 bit, just 10 bit. I can have 12 bit if I switch down to 144 hz. Is this a bandwidth issue with my GPU or something I need to do with CRU?
