It’s about time you found a monitor screen that we seniors (old people) could actually see. It’s 34 f…ing inches wide. I can’t imagine how hot it will be to get down to a game of Street Fighter ll with my buddy Vinny next door. I can see the characters. I’m just wondering if it’s too big to store behind the couch. Thank you for your reviews and your boxing reviews. Besides knowing your stuff you make us laugh. Long live Zorz. Thank you. And tell them I think Alienware is a rocking name but they don’t need all the extra letters and numbers.
I know this monitor has been out a while now, but I just got mine today and really am amazed. I've never gamed on such a nice display. Any tips on things I should or shouldn't do?
Today I looked at my AW3423DWF and your voice saying "Alien vision man!" intruded my mind which had me laughing. You really left an imprint with this channel haha, keep it up man!
WOOOOH! First person to notice. Hexen was THE VERY FIRST EVER FPS GAME I PLAYED MULTIPLAYER. It was on LAN at the offices of Interplay and I was hooked forevermore. Thanks for noticing and subscribing and being fucking ZORZ!
Have you considered the lg c2 42 inches? Im stuck between the 2 you compared here and that. I really do like 4k gaming , but love oled too, and c2 might even be too big. Having a hard time deciding
Maybe I’m reading into it a bit, but judging from your first initial impressions, I think you’re enjoying the Alienware a lot more lol. Understandably so.
It is the Zaunkoenig M2K! And it is still to this day the best mouse I’ve ever played with if you can get used to the shape and no side buttons. World class click latency and best build quality ever.
Nice vid! Did you notice any fan noise from the monitor? I have a silent PC and would be disappointed if it sounds like a gpu is strapped to the back of that monitor.
Can I use this version with NVIDIA Geforce cards and not experiencing tearing? I’m not sure if I need to buy the version with g-sync or maybe this is better/enough.
This is enough! Works fine! You get some additional features with the other one being "OFFICAL G SYNC" but you also get double the input lag. The other differences are minimal.
Alienware put out an update on the firmware that fixes eotf tracking in hdr 1000 mode and makes it AMAZING!! The update was put out June 5th and you can check monitors unboxed reviewing the updated firmware from June 12th. Thank me later lol but seriously
Can definitely see what you're saying with the colors on the video vs what we can see on stream. Colors look very saturated though. Not sure if that's me watching through my monitor though. How long does it take to get used to the curved screen? I've been worried about moving past 27" because I'm not sure I'll like the curving. Looking forward to the 10 bit color review on the LG.
Swing! I I will have the alienware review and comparison out tomorrow. It's long and informative. I fucking love the curve. I want 32 or 34 with a curve for sure. I wouldn't buy just yet though and you'll see why in review or we can talk tonight on stream!
looks like you'll have a full review soon! Also wondering what its' like to play games that don't have ultrawide. I assume you don't feel like you have to pull the monitor in closer to you?
One thing about this monitor, is you can tell that the black levels look almost gray under brighter light conditions. This monitor really does best on a room with little light. I'm still trying to decide to get this or an LG c2 42inch. The LG has a polarizer keeping blacks inky
Indeed I talked about that in the full review. Its unfortunate but for me not a deal breaker cause I can control all the lights. I hear the LG c42 is the best coating but its super slow refresh rate is troubling...
@@ZorzGaming No...mine are fine with blacks.Contrast 75% Winowds Hdr Calibrate Black=0 Brigthness=1000 Nvidia Control Panel go to Digitalcolorsetting and Set contrast 55% An Color (all) to 60% thats it...Sdr brightness in Windows Hdr setting to 30 Try it :)
@@GS1X88 Will do those settings sound great! I was just talking about the coating though and how if you have a bright light on it it will start to make blacks look grey :)
hdtvtest reviewed the 27'' lg 240hz oled and compared showing it to be faster as far as input lag and gaming performance vs the alienware but it does not get as bright But I think the ultrawide monitor is the way to go vs normal 16:9 now I am loving ultrawide even when I have black bars in some games its still more than when I had the 27'' on screen real estate I have been converted team ultrawide
Ayyyyyy another one! From what I've seen I'm not disappointed of my LG choice, considering my personal needs of course. (I'm a bit relieved lol). I think the discrepencies in "speed" from different reviews that people are seeing might be due to response time vs input lag. higher the frames per sec, lower the input lag, so even if the screen might be a tad faster in color changes (although the difference is minuscule), the 240hz might be helping getting lower actual input lag, as long as your rig can handle the frames. Just a guess, but that would make sense. What is wrong with them not bothering to include HDMI 2.1 though? I mean maybe if it would have included DP 2.0, but I don't understand doing all this work and then limiting ports to old technology... It's like building the coolest house and not including a door..... Or the coolest boat, but it doesn't float lol. rip As others said, the side by side comparison would be a great addition! Great review though, not disappointed
You don't need hdmi2.1 on 3400 is why, consoles don't support ultrawide which is why The lg has 2.1 to support 4k for consoles, it then downscales the signal to 1440p
@@DJSoulbrother im not sure I get what you mean, why would they need 2.1 to support 4k for consoles, consoles can output at 1440? I might be missing something so please enlighten me, but from what I’m gathering 1440p at 240hz needs 2.1, especially if you want anything above 8 bcolors… it has nothing to do with consoles? I might be stupid, not tryina pick a fight lol @Zorz right ahaha thanks, i’ll wait for the review
Not being 16;9 and also no HDMI 2.1 support or 10/12 bit color is deal breaker for me. I’ll see what you think though :). How much better is the gloss compared to LG though?
@@Secure_Mental I know LG doesn’t have gloss I own the OLED monitor :) just curious if the gloss on Alienware is adding noticeable improvements. I personally love the LG screen and don’t understand the oily comments
There are no movies or games currently using true 12bit even though dolby vision is mastered in 12bit I believe, The alienware does 10 bit when switched to HDR like most screen tech does, SDR is usually only 8bit. basically companies use Dolby vision as a selling point even though no tvs atm can truly support it, DV is maxed at 10k nit and 68billion colors after all, I believe you need atleast 4000 nits to see the actual benefit. LG is killing 2 birds with one stone allowing console support, ultrawide isn't supported on consoles also. The lg has 2.1 to support 4k for consoles, it then downscales the signal to 1440p
The ultra crazy expensive Ergotron HX heavy duty. Oddly enough I bought it because I wanted to have the option to have a bigger 49 incher even though I think that's probably too big.. It's damn good though.
hahah Thank you! Well they are vastly different monitors! Check out the comparison I did ;). When you get it make a video and send it to me on twitter! Alien Vision Man!!!
@@ZorzGaming I did and that’s what made me get the Alienware plus how can you go wrong with alien vision man!! I’d love to game with ya bro! And sorry I don’t have twitter. Thanks for the Zorz videos!
Maan I'm super torn between this Alienware or a 42 inch LG C2 TV. It's not going to be my main monitor, I'm gonna mostly use it for content consumption and occasional non-competitive gaming since I have a 240hz 1080p panel for competitive and the new one is going to sit above it. The LG is much bigger for cheaper but the QD Oled tech is just so much brighter and better overall. It's a tough one.
If you want content consumption, go for this. It's color gamut is huge, black uniformity is perfect, local dimming isn't needed because it's QD-OLED and has no backlight and because of that it's contrast is near infinite. If you want pure content consumption this monitor is one of the best things you can get other than a $2,500-$3,000 A95K.
i preordered diablo 4... my body is ready!! the screen looks so nice compare to the LG, wait, i didn't know the alienware only does 8 bit color? really? I thought to do any HDR it needs at least 10bit?
@@ZorzGaming hell yeh appreciate it man that’s the thing that kinda freaked me out as it’s newer tech we don’t know wth the implications from bad manufacturing can do to our eyes I know that flickering can really mess you up especially if you got sensitive eyes enjoyed the vid keep up the great work 💯💪🏼
Settings: operate in Creator mode: Set to SRBG, Gama: Set to 2.2, HDR 1000, Brightness: 100, Contrast: 70. WINDOWS SETTINGS: Turn on Auto HDR, Slide HDR brightness to the max. YW
dude, im going a bit crazy i think? i could have sworn i saw you do a video on this monitor, showing a way to get it into 10bit with 144 hz somehow? but i cant find the video now? am i going crazy? was it you??? 😕
12 bit color is not even available in majority of monitors out there so it won’t work. Also its way pricey in terms of an oled ultra wide costing more than the Alienware.
@@ZorzGaming 175hz, they say if they pushed it any further the veil between The Matrix and the real would have been broken. AND the holy HDMI 2.1 support.
@@captmaverickable Yup... But instead of just a shiny bar they have actual fucking lights on it... YIKES! ... hey wait... did you feel that? Was that Deja Vu?
