Hey there! I’m Bill, and welcome to Project Billd!
I design and make things for my Jeep, my house, and sometimes just for fun!
In my videos I show you how I did things and give you all the information you need to be able to recreate my work for yourself (and avoid my mistakes)!
That's a good question that I wish I had an exact answer to. Becoming a dad changed life way more than I expected and I've had a hard time figuring out routines and being motivated to make videos since. I am working on a new video right now (not jeep related) and I'm hopeful I'll finish that by the end of October. I still have lots of things I want to do with my jeep so content is planned, it's just me getting back into the swing of things.
@@ProjectBilld That is f***ng horrible, I'm sorry to hear that. I ruptured a disc once, that was my introduction to sciatic agony. I hope you can find a solution, someday.
I wish I had of seen this video before putting wood filler on one of my projects. The filler did not stain anywhere close to the wood after I stained it. I like the tip to fill cracks after staining. Looks great!
I bought a stock head unit off of eBay that was upgraded to blue tooth. Wife said she likes jeeps. Back in 2012. I noticed a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport at a local dealership that had only 30,000 on it. We lived in Michigan at the time. But the prior owner didn’t drive it in the winter. So I bought it. It’s a soft top. Only options that came on it are air conditioning, automatic transmission and larger tires. It now has 95,000 miles. We moved to Florida in 2013 and then Alabama in 2021. We have all ways stored it in our garage. But it needed a good detail. Just got it back from a professional detailer. He spent over twenty hours on it. It looks amazing. Before that I found a local mechanic that only works on Jeeps. And he works out of his home. Had him go through everything. Before the detail. He only charges $80 per hour. So rear main, oil pan gasket, fuel pump, valve cover gasket, pion seals, reseal differential covers, brake booster, master cylinder, slotted front disks, pads, drums and pads, thermostat, heater hoses, radiator hoses and serpentine belt. And five new BF Goodrich TA K2 tires. Found a local company that repairs automotive interiors. And they repair hard plastics, leather and vinyl. Like yours my door panel is cracked. So I’m going to have that done next. Some of the items above I installed or replaced myself. But I make a good living. And it’s easier on the back having someone else do some of the work. Congratulations on yours.
Tits! awesome and thanks for free plans! = free comment! 😁 Just replace the 'star knob' and threaded insert for a 'stack weight / gym pin' and you got a much easier operation 🤙
Nice work. I wish I could run a router that well. I've done laminate countertops and I'm going to try and attempt some receiver ends first before I try speakers. This will be my go-to vid. I didn't know wood glue could be used like that! I always use contact or spray glue. Both are NOT user friendly. One missed drop, and the project is over! Great vid!!
Great video and thanks for sharing. I’m curious of the amount of heat that phone charger gives off on the board over night. Is it pretty significant or barely any? I’ve never taken one apart and am curious on the heat it generates outside of its shell while charging. Thanks again 🙏🏻
Im just about to get started building this and wanted to ask how yours is holding up, and if there is anything you would change now that you’ve used it for a while. I’ve been looking forward to this for over a year now and can’t wait. Thanks again.
Mine is holding up well. Top has some scratches and marks, but it's a workbench. Some things I'd improve, more support under the middle, it can sag their when trying to move it. If I had to do it again, I'd probably build a separate cart for each rotating tool and have a way to join them together when needed as mine is huge and a beast to move by myself
Thanks! I have a big garage where it can stay most the time, so I’ll start with your exact design with the middle supported a little more and then add any separate carts if needed. I would really like a large table for assembly and gluing anyways.
This is very helpful. I am wondering what the limits are around what lava rocks to use. Could you use fire glass stones instead? Or is there a reason you have to stick with the rocks? Thanks
The head unit in this video has a rca video port for the back up camera. You could use the hdmi for a front camera, assuming the front camera has that kind of output. There are other head units that support 2 cameras via rca, you might be better off getting one of those
I'm not sure, I never measured it while dimmed. I haven't noticed any issues with dimming them, though I do mostly keep them at full brightness since they're indirect lighting
Pretty well! We eat at the island every day and it has rubbed through the epoxy on the edges where our arms rest. It's not very noticeable at all but it's something to keep in mind. Still, very happy with them.
My wifes 2024 cars back seat had to be re covered under warranty due to some stitching coming undone. The dealer said the seat fasteners had to be ordered since they are considered a one-time use. They probably fasten ultra tight for safety reasons.
Nicely done. Exactly what I needed to see. I was mentally stuck on how to veneer the lip on the front. Your idea of shaving it off with a flush trim is money.
