❤ Eboni!!! I forgot to update you! I passed my test May 6th the 1st time!! I made a 106😅 girl I thought I failed it. When that man told me I passed I had a panic attack 😂 it took me an hour to leave the parking lot!
Hey girl! Thanks a bunch for uploading this video. I wanted to ask which app you recommend to practice/study for the ccht exam. There are a couple different ones but they require money so I want to make sure I get the best one lol.
Heyyyy! No problem. I used the one that was 10.99 I think. Here is a short I did on the exact one Which app to use to study for your Hemodialysis Patient Care Technician National Exam? ru-vid.comEEUbKZvFK00?feature=share
I am definitely the quiet one, but I always help when needed. I am not a "you do for me I do for you" type person. I dont look for things in return. I just work lol.
😂😂😂😅😂 My patient said: Chololatita!! Come with me to Mexico, I'll make good rice and beans! 😮😂😂😂 I said Nope, I like America, and we have rice and beans here! Lolol
I’m taking mine in a couple of weeks and I struggle with text anxiety so bad! I’m so worried that I will not pass 😩I got the ccht prep app and I appreciate you all for all the advice and what to expect.
Don’t fret. Try to get a handle on your anxiety because that will cause you to fail. But if anything if you do fail it, just take it again! I had to tell myself that to not allow fear to cause me to not move forward. You got this!!

For drug screen just know you might not be able to take your phone or anything else in the restroom with you. Don’t take any meds. And of course no other drugs or alcohol.
I've been at my clinic for 5 months now. Mondays are the hardest days because of cap and dressing change. I have to change caps before doing the rest of my stuff on their catheter before hooking them up to the machines including 5 minute heparin dwells. To prepare a sterile field for cap change takes time, but my manager always says that I am late getting my patients on. I asked the manager if the time could be adjusted to accommodate cap change before treatment, and I got a flat out no. I don't know what do in this situation except for just waiting things out, get my CCHT then leave my clinic to go to another one.
Oh my. Honestly I would watch what others do to move a little quicker. For example, depending on the schedule some people can wait for patients to completely be out of the chair before cleaning and resetting the machine for the next patient. But some people can’t because the schedule doesn’t give room for it. I’m not able to do catheters in GA but I like to have allll my information in, hansens on, transducers connected and dialyzer flipped to red. Like every single machine thing(if I can) before I stick my patient. But getting my CCHT and leaving for better was the best thing ever!!! So do what you gotta do!!
I believe in the culture in each clinic they are all different. Sometime you get lucky with a group of individuals that will not let you drown and set u up for success. Some will let you sink. Company’s differ but I noticed the schedule does not relay to real life sustainability. 3 12s are best I believ for most.
Baby I cried several times I'm still in training and I be soo tired being on my, feet but things take time and I'm in week ⁵ but Jim catching on though and my preceptor is awesome 😅
I need to know the names of all the lines, etc and what they do. I wonder if there is a diagram. I also ordered a core curriculum for dialysis technicians
Y’all are so cute and my new best friends😉. I’m an RN with 23 years in labor and delivery just starting out in dialysis at 65 yrs old. I’m training with the tech first and techs are the best! Thank you
Thank you for this video ! Company where I work at is switching to these style lines which I’m sad cause the streamline lines are way better! All good thanks once again this helped a lot!!’ ❤
I just started working as a tech. I’m on my third week and still confused. Too much too fast. My preceptor is a career vet and it very hard keeping up with her. I don’t want to seem slow because I’m older, but sometimes I feel so lost. I don’t like to keep asking questions because I don’t want to sound repetitive. I don’t think getting up at 3am is helping either. When I get there I feel like I’m sleep walking. 🤦🏽♀️
It’s normal to still be confused. You learning ALOT all at once. It’s ok if you are slower than others, although it seems like a race, it’s not so pace yourself. ASK QUESTIONS , ALOT OF QUESTIONS!!! You’re new to this world. I asked a lot questions, got in people nerves and didn’t care because someone’s life is in my hands!!

Hi, working in a dialysis clinic, I have met technicians from all over, Columbia, Ethiopia, etc. If you get hired as a PCT ( Patient Care Technician ) You can work without a certification initially. You would probably be hired given your background. You will just need to learn and get acclimated to the policies and procedures of the clinic/state/government that you are in. You will be trained to properly adhere to those and will be given material to study in order to take your CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician) exam. You have up to 18 months from the time you start working as a PCT to take your exam and I know that Fresenius (not sure of others ) will pay for it also. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!!!
@@j.h.5530brother there are so many vaccancies as pct(dialysis technician) in US under fresenius and davita in indeed and linkedin while i am applying it directly goes to fresenius and davita page but i have doubts while going through the procedure especially about 'voluntary disclosure‘ under this page we have to fill 2 blanks mandatorily they are; First one : ⭐️American Indian or Alaska Native (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) ⭐️Asian (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) ⭐️Black or African American (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) ⭐️Decline to Answer (United States of America) ⭐️Hispanic or Latino (United States of America) ⭐️Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) ⭐️Not Specified (United States of America) ⭐️Two or More Races (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) ⭐️White (Not Hispanic or Latino) (United States of America) Which one should i choose from this options as an indian who is currently living in india Second one : Protected Veteran Employee Self Identification ⭐️ IDENTIFY AS ONE OR MORE OF THE CLASSIFICATIONS OF PROTECTED VETERANS LISTED ABOVE ⭐️I IDENTIFY AS A VETERAN, JUST NOT A PROTECTED VETERAN ⭐️I AM NOT A VETERAN ⭐️I DO NOT WISH TO SELF-IDENTIFY Which one should i choose from this second option please help me out
So you can prime it without hooking the machine up to the wall first? I just got out of training and I saw my preceptor before hooking the machine to the bath before setting up the lines.
Hey girl! I'm taking my test on the 31st... 😢 I can make 98 to 100 on the ccht prep app but I have barely been able to open the book. Do u think that app alone could help me pass the state test?
