Right now Ant (Dad) has an R8 GT Spyder, a rare special edition of the Audi R8, and a tuned and modified Nissan 370Z Nismo. His son, Damani, is working on a... (Watch this space!)
Damn. I bought my 2016 370Z new and went all in. Fast Intentions turbos and exhaust(with resonators), flex fuel, APRacing BBK, appropriate cooling, diff and suspension mods. Smiles ever since. Didn't even look at the new Z.
Nice car and great video, thanks. I didn't know DaVinci was free, I use FCPX but have now installed this onto my PC as my MAC is a little tied and struggles to render the 4K stuff my Insta360 kicks out.
The free version of DaVinci is still resource intensive but I've preferred it over final cut for a couple of years now, enough to switch to the paid version.
i came here from yt shorts and i just came to say, after all these years of hearing how the Z sounds, i have never came across a Z that sounds this great. And when i say that this was the best sounding one is an understatement. the sound is very mature and elegant.
Have you used other brands other than insta 360? If so pros and cons? Getting started and starting with two cameras what would you recommend? Trying to start doing shots of my 63 thunderbird. Thanks for any tips!
I've not used other brands of 360° cameras recently. There are plenty of comparison reviews out there and generally, the Insta360 360° cameras come out on top for the features that matter to me. It's worth watching a few for your own needs. When you say you want two cameras, are they both 360° cameras or do you want one 360° camera and one action camera?
I know this is a long shot... Would you be willing to show a little more in depth how to mask the mount with the software? It all moves a little too fast for someone new to davinci resolve like me! Or do you have any useful links? Thank you
Hey, there's lots of tutorials on RU-vid. Here's a couple... This one has several techniques if you have the paid for version: DaVinci Resolve Studio. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-42_6xdbH_-o.html And here's a better way than the approach I used in the free version: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-BCjpLyaqDtU.html I hope that helps.
Thank you! I did consider making a video about how to do the masking in the way I teased in the video, but I'm trying to stay as a car enthusiasts lifestyle/culture channel rather than becoming a camera and editing channel. Hope the links I shared are helpful.
@@sportzntouring So my insta carbon mount finally came this weekend and I bought a new MacBook to use resolve (my old gaming laptop couldn't keep up with 4k🤣) When tracking the mount it starts to loose it's 'track' after a few seconds, which makes the glass wonky. I think you should make a video on this process, as there isn't any in depth information on specifically removing a car mount that I can find 😁🙌🏻
@@robevans1685 you may need to keyframe the position of the clip underneath. Or, you may need to remove stabilisation on the exported clip. If that doesn't come out well, you can also try keyframing the insta360 footage so there's less rotation. Or, a DaVinci feature I'm exploring next is cloning.
You can if you want to. But, there's more to the handling than just suspension. There's additional damped chassis bracing and anti roll bars.. The exhaust on the Nismo is still pretty quiet and you'll need to map the car to fully exploit it. Check out the Nismo catalogue, see what you'd like... But, it would likely be cheaper to trade up to a Nismo than go to town on the parts catalogue, depending on how far you want to go.
@@sportzntouring just posted its video on my RU-vid channel - Automotive Affairs Shorts. A full length video will be posted on the main Automotive Affairs Channel by end of September or early October.
I have a 2019 370Z sport pkg 6MT which has the following engine modifications: a Stillen Gen 3 long tube CAI, a Fast Intentions 2.5" true dual x-pipe cat back exhaust and an Ecutek tune done on a Dynojet chassis dyno by Specialty Z in Simi Valley, CA. The tune was done with 94 octane gas and we got a uniform increase in torque across the whole rev range of about 15%. We got a peak rear wheel horsepower figure of 321 at 7200 rpm, for a calculated crankshaft value of about 390. I was concerned before about the metal intake pipes picking up heat from the engine bay and might go with wrapping them with some thermal reflective and insulating tape. I did put some forged magnesium wheels on the car from Litespeed Racing in LA, CA. They've shaved off an additional 9 lbs from each corner, as compared to the OEM forged aluminum wheels. The handling performance, braking and acceleration have been noticeably improved from the reduction of unsprung rotational mass.
Closer but not good enough yet - Wes need a waterproof 360 4k roof mount portable and connect to dash built in screen for still shots and video with sound and steering wheel controls and broadcast ability for police stops and lawyer app links ----- deliver this to us and become a millionaire ---- hurry up already
Beautiful car. Saw yours on Jay Em motors. Thinking of buying a 370Z Nismo myself. What oil change intervals do you do? What are the weak points (heard the slave cylinder is one) but anything I should be looking out for?
@@craig357 cool. It's changed a fair bit since then. Regarding your questions, oil change is about 9000 miles or annually. I rarely do those miles in a year so I have that done annually. Weak points... Ive not experienced any specific typical issues, except the clicking that comes from the wheel hubs. That's a straight forward extra servicing task but isn't needed often. Clutch slave cylinders are known to be a weak point as they're plastic but I've not experienced that issue personally (35k miles now). Other than that, it will depend on the history of the car, which will be a bit of a gamble like any car. Otherwise, nothing specific to any known weaknesses surfaced so far.
Have these on golf gti make the car more fun to drive than it already is, it did have kumho & pirelli but chucked them away and fitted they'd contis all round all be it in the wider size 235 35 19s the car feels much better ideal 👆👀
Great video! I am tempted to go for these ones for my 350z and I need to get rid off my GoddYear F1 assymetric 5 that has been absolutely horrible in the zed. I hope you can help me with some advise between Falken Fk520, these contis, the Michelin PS5 or any other you can through in the mix to make my life more difficult. Great content! Keep up the good job Jonathan
@@sportzntouring Thank you Ant. I have watched the review in Tyre Reviews but I am still not fully clear. Just from your experience, how did they wear? Did they last? Thanks
@@jonathanblanco3100 I think I've put 6000 miles on them so far. I think they're at 5mm but can't check right now as the car is away at present. Their wear is reviewed at 70% compared to 82% for the PS5. I'd say if it's your daily and wear is a concern, it might be worth researching tyres with slower wear rates. Obviously that may mean sacrificing performance.
In a way that extends beyond the side of the vehicle to the rear/side say at a 45° angle? So it's at, say a view that's at an angle to the rear and side? If so, no. I couldn't do that on public roads legally or safely and I don't have anywhere I can film on a private and access-restricted road to solve that.
@@sportzntouring Yes. I saw a video of that setup on a GR Supra. It's a bit worrisome because only one suction cup was used, but the cup is very large. I like the view it creates. Maybe mounting on the driver's window with the stick pointing straight up would accomplish the same or similar view? Thanks for your feedback.👍
No, because to get that shot, the camera would extend both rearward and to the side, beyond the boundaries of side of the vehicle. That's dangerous to oncoming vehicles (if on the driver side) or would be at risk of clipping something at the side of the road (if on the passenger side)... Unless I've misunderstood the angle you're describing.
The build is looking clean. I have the same one and honestly short tails are lame. I have the 3 inch full GT Haus Meistershaft with custom 5 inch tips double rolled. The exhaust sounds insane. However i wanted a tune with flames so i had to get rid of my cats for motordyne catless artpipes and with the exhaust i have it is definitely a bit to loud but im not the one to complain so i dont mind it but for the average joe itll be to loud.
In terms of handling, if you're willing to sacrifice that lift feature of KW V3, you could get a lot better coilovers (ThunderLane, MCA or Z1 R-Pro) and FUCA and then proper wheel alignment. That plus wider wheels with square setup for 265 or 285 tyre will change the handling dramatically.
Is this the setup you have? I'm curious about the wheel specs. That's very much on the list of things to do. Do tell us more or DM us on Instagram with a link if you have more info somewhere.
I recently purchased a 2019 Nismo 370 Canadian spec which I imported into Florida. It's nearly identical to this car other than the Litchfield tune and the original owner moved on to a GTR. I have inherited a beautifully well maintained and manicured Nismo with 19,000 mi us. I left the Dodge platform and I've had so much fun with this car. It is a rocket ship with a beautiful cabin and a true analog naturally aspirated 6-speed. The recaro's hug you as good as the car hugs the road. I drive it probably once a week 2 to 3 hours at a time and it leaves you smiling for days. This car brings me mental health and peace of mind. It performs extremely well, eventually I'll upgrade to a GTR also it's just that inspiring to drive it makes you want to learn more about both platforms.
That's awesome! Have you driven a GT-R? Assuming you're talking about an R35, if you've not driven one then do try before you buy. For me, it's not as much fun. It's a different kind of fun. But not like the 370Z Nismo. It's much more about brute acceleration and mind boggling grip... It's less playful. It just wasn't for me. Id consider having one as well as a 370Z, but not instead of. But that's just me.
I live in East Chicago, IN. I just got my 2014 370Z for $11k with 70k miles. I really feel like I got a good deal. Hopefully you will get a good deal too man
I fell in love with the 675LT since then. Best of both worlds... You'll see me drive it a few mins into this video... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OJEZa4L1mfs.html
Just bought a 2010 6 Mt sport package. I love it. I thought it would be slightly quicker on the low end but it handles and has plenty of top end power. Puts a smile on my face every day
CONGRATS! You'll be surprised at how much a throttle remap will change that feeling on the low end. A big part of that sensation is the amount you have to press the gas to get a response. See 16:37 in the video. The standard map only opens the throttle by 22% at 50% of the pedal. That can create an illusion that the car is lazy off the line.
Put a good intake, exhaust and tune and you can gain close to 60 peak crankshaft horsepower. The stock ECU map runs the engine very lean at low to mid revs and slightly lean at high revs, for emissions and gas mileage. These mods will also significantly boost low and midrange torque, for about a 15% uniform increase in torque across the whole rev range.
I just got the 370z nismo same color as yours, and man!!!! I absolutely love this car!!! So many people are like "How did you get that car you look to young" 😆
Awesome! Hope you like them once they're on! Keep in touch via @sportzntouring on Instagram. For more inspiration also check out this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Eyyk8XGAkSc.html
When you were shopping for the white Nismo, out of curiosity, was there a black Nismo sitting next to it? :) I suspect you took the one I was eyeballing at Glyn back in the day
@@sportzntouring Eye for details :) Very small world comrade, there are not that many idiots who shop for a Z haha. I am on my 2nd one, does say a lot haha
