Awesome video! So cool that you got to meet Jake, Rolando, & Felipe I really hope someday I’ll get to meet Sig, Mandy, & Clark hopefully soon they will have a Deadliest Catch event before Clark & Sig leave for Alaska for the Fall King Crab Season 🦀
I know a lot of the fisherman that crab fish and salmon tender in Alaska are based in the Seattle area. Has always been like that historically. But I wonder if there's a benifit to it? As opposed to having your homeport based in Alaska, in which some boats are (Time Bandit for example). Seems kinda far-ish and just burn fuel on the transit alone.
A lot of the fishing fleets home port is Seattle so they have contracts and relationships with the local shipyards and other things regarding their boats. Also it is good to bring your boats into fresh water to kill all of the sea growth on the hulls of these vessels. Also some boats don't have built in refrigeration systems and they have to get them from Trident Seafoods in Tacoma for Salmon Tendering Season. That is one reason why the Wizard came back home to Seattle about 2 plus weeks ago.
The Wheeler carries pipeline that can run up to 8 miles from an offshore tanker to fuel containment on shore. Used to provide both fuel and water, different pipelines obviously, to locations that have no onshore facilities due to the location or disaster, tsunami destroying the infrastructure.
The ELM is a 225’ Juniper class Sea going buoy tender based in Astoria, Oregon. I never did any of those boats but did serve on a medium endurance cutter called Tahoma. USCG 2002-2010
Jake Anderson, could have a new boat every season. How much does he earn per episode of Deadliest Catch? Oh...the drama of it being such a hard job. Makes me laugh. The earnings these captains make per season, of television, is more than enough for a down-payment on a new boat. They're not as poor, as reality TV, makes'em out to be.
I'm confused about him why did he invest his life savings in a boat he could lose doesn't make sense? I thought he bought the boat from Elliott neese the whole Situation iS odd
Nope not even Elliot was full owner of the saga just another hired captain like jake….. Elliot and jake owned the same amount of the boat partner Lenny the majority boat owner is in trouble so the saga got repossessed…. Nothing jake could do good thing he still has his quota so he can fish on another boat
@@richierich2534 yeah jake said he just worried about the boat and Lenny delt with the financial aspect welllll jake should have had his hands in the financial part too but oh well live and learn right lol
Yeah I watched half of Season 18 and then I only watched 1 episode from last year. I didn't watch those because I was just focused on doing reviews and not having enough time to edit the videos.
Good for him. Watching the series since the start it's like these guys are friends. I actually care about all them. I get emotional when people pass. 😢. Great video..
I absolutely loved this video!! Seeing these mundane things they do while not on the Bearing sea is so interesting! Thankyou for this! Keep up the good work!
I would still like to know how you all know Jake didn’t buy the Titan Explorer. Did he purchase the Saga back? I have done lots of digging but can’t find any proof positive facts.
@@misskitty4431 Jake Anderson was just hired as the Captain of the Titan Explorer. I don't know if jake will be able to buy back the Saga since he was part owner in it.
Wizard looks like it may have been a USN. YO which is an Oiler used in port for fuel transfer to small Navy vessels about eighty years ago. The hull was used for other similar Navy vessels like net tenders etc.
That idiot jake spend all that money putting in dark lights big tv hugh kitchen & we were all rt. He put money toward something that was a partner boat😅😅😅😅

No Jake owned like 27% to 30% of the Saga. He just focused on the operation and upgrading part of the ownership and left Lenny to do the financial stuff who owned the majority of the Saga.
Some of these boats have 3 or 4 owners these boats are a small businesses most small businesses need outside money to expand, Warren Buffet owns Berkshire Hathaway investment firm but only a percentage of the company’s under that umbrella.
