Loved this series so much I bought it. Grew up with the original series of thundercats, but really loved the modifications to the storyline they did with this. I was always extremely disappointed we were robbed of more seasons, but had read somewhere online that there was actually another season, but only aired in China. I'm not sure how accurate that is though. Finish the series and you'll find that you'll love it. I would watch this with my own kids together when it first was released. I felt it was underrated and not given the opportunity to keep going.

*YEESH!* This show had more body horror than SG1 did! Those shout outs to _Alien_ and _The Thing_ were *far worse* than any scene involving a Goa'uld parasite in all of _Stargate SG 1!_

I really don’t actually think it’s a retcon, I mean I could’ve sworn in some version of the movie Catherine Langford references a book about his theories and that’s partly why he was reached out to by her. Tho maybe I’m mixing up various sources and canons, but I do still believe it was the intent and most likely part of the lore Bible for the movie. As it’s not like sg1 just pulled “pyramids are alien landing sites” from nowhere. As that’s literally what they were, as Ra’s ship landed on one of the pyramids in the movie. Even tho they expanded and made it a common way that Ha’taak vessels were landed within the series, it’s not like they came up from it. So even if it wasn’t ever explicitly stated in the movie, it was always implied and an intentional part of the narrative, given there is a payoff to that concept when Ra shows up. I mean the movie certainly had its issues and behind the scenes script writing inconsistencies, given it was said the sequels that were intended would’ve actually required significant retcons to work as well. Which is interesting in and of itself, but also likely part of why MGM opted to go into another direction and pursue a series. Admittedly it’s been awhile, but I had talked to Michael Shanks about this a long time ago and he implied most of his early series acting was based on the original lore Bible from the movie and had tried to emulate it as faithfully as possible. So I think it was always the intention, even if they didn’t actually fully convey it.

The problem with 'Origins' is that they tried to shove in a Raiders of the Lost Ark plot in a story where it absolutely didn't fit. (That, and the cringy habit of shoving nazis everywhere. What is this, the history Channel ?! SG-1 managed to go ten seasons ) It could've been a minor hinted-at subplot in Egypt, but not part of the main plot. Then there's a few obvious plot holes and continuity issues: Why would they leave the Stargate in Egypt for ten years, and only then transport it to the US ? Wouldn't the Egyptian and British governments object by that point ? Also... Why didn't elderly Kassuf recognize that the humans he met decades later might have probably come from another world ? 'Origins' is what you get when someone's loaned a valuable IP and decides to write a bad fanfic that results in a web series that barely looks to be on the level of a higher-budget fan film.

One thing they need to for sure not not not not not do at all at all at all at all at all, is put modern political BS into Narnia. Don't shove a gay character in there, don't race swap anybody tobe black, don't shove random American ideals in there, and don't use modern politics at all to shape the story. A fantasy is supposed to take us out of there, and seeing let's say some gays making out in Tashbaan, fore example, is a no go. If you're going to deal with a fantasy world, remember that it follows its own rules, not 2024 San Francisco rules. While there were black African people in England, don't make Polly, Diggory, Hellen, Frank, Andrew, Leticia, Peter, Susan, Lucy, Edmund, or Eustace black just to check off a box. Because if you're going to make them black just to have a black or Asian character in there, then that diminishes your project, because it shows you care more about browny points than the actual story. As for the LGBTQ thing, again, no random gays in there. Narnia has a heavily Christian fanbase for one, for two, it seams a lot of Hollywood stuff overrepresents LGBT characters lately to tryto make up and compencate for past lacks of representation, and that is just overcorrecting. As a bi man, if I'm going to be represented somewhere, it better have meaning, not just a token character in a franchise just to tick off boxes. Also, do not do not do not remove the Christian themes. Again, Narnia has a heavily religious fanbase, it is a big element of the story, and C.S. Lewis was a really religious man. It is important for Greta Gerwig to remember her audience, it's not going to be the same audience as GOT, given Narnia's themes. Think hard and carefully about how you do it, Netflix. That's my advice.

For me, if Netflix can at least be as faithful to Narnia as the Focus on the Family Radio Theatre versions, then we'll already be on the right path. Yes, Focus on the Family Radio Theatre did all 7 books as full cast audio dramas between 1999 and 2002, featuring many famous British actors. Say what you will about FotF, and I have many not so good things to say about them, but their Narnia adaptations were some of if not the best audio dramas ever mde. I challenge you to find me bette audio dramas with British actors in it interms of quality, acting, sound design, music, ETC. The closest is another Focus on the Family Radio Theatre production, that being their 2011 adaptation of Oliver Twist. Again, don't agree with FotF's views (I'm Catholc), but their quality of their qudio dramas is beyond pretty much everybody else circa 1996-2014, even above BBC.

6:30 UNTIL you get to the Last Battle! There you see all the corruption that has been seeping into Narnia since the time of Jadis. The alliances she made, the hell she unlocked. I mean, Tash anyone? What was the terrible price she paid for knowing the deplorable word? The stories that King Tirian and Jewel tell, even Poggin when Eustace and Jill lament the times and their leaders know that they need comfort. How about Puzzle, and why there were no talking donkeys until after the Horse and His Boy. Or even why the talking beasts could remember the Old Narnia better than even Shift. It's just an amazing book that has me both terrified while also in awe at the melody of the Great Lion that still sings on.

Clearly Susan no longer believing in Narnia is akin to being a nonbeliever of Christ in this world. As a nonbeliever, Susan is more concerned with the things of this world rather than her relationship with Jesus/Aslan. When her family dies they do not go to Narnia, but to the world beyond Narnia and beyond our world. If Susan becomes a believer she can join them one day too. Susan has to discover Aslan in our world and make the connection to Narnia

Imagine adapting a show written by a conservative Christian when you hate religion ... That sure won't affect the way you adapt the book, themes etc. I'm sure these nepobaby hollywood writers won't mess with the story at all. As a non religious person, it's sickening how obsessed they are. They have to ruin every popular property trying to push their worldview. P.s. I have friends named Aslan, it means lion in my language (Turkish). It's kinda funny he named the Lion, Lion in a different language. But I get it, Aslan is a great name

IMO, Netflix need to do the Magician's Nephew first, as an acting prequel for the people with knowledge of the Walden movies, and as an intro to the reboot franchise. Like the X-Men Days of Future Past to the X-Men OG Trilogy and the X-Men Prequel series. Chronological works as an adaptation this time around. Also, Narnia should feel like an anthological shared universe. Individual stories that are vaguely connected and share the same universe. I also think they should go with the Sherlock format and make it into a miniseries of three episodes per season, and each season tackling one of the books: Season 2: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe E1: The Wardrobe - Prologue: the tree of protection in Narnia has died and the witch enters Narnia and conquers it. - Digory (who we met in the first season) is now a middle-aged professor and brings in four children from London during wartime. Peter and Susan tell him of how Lucy has discovered a magical land inside, said Edmund has been there too though he denied it, but the two older ones could not believe it. Soon all four children entered the wardrobe. E2: The Witch - In a flashback, Edmund has been there, and met the evil that is currently ruling Narnia for 100 years now: The White Witch. Later he escapes his siblings who are staying with the beavers and joins her but later regrets it when he sees how cruel she is to him and to the other Narnians. E3: The Lion - The three others join the beavers to meet Aslan. Aslan's army rescues Edmund, but the Witch wants Edmund's life for his betrayal. So Aslan gave his own life, only to be resurrected, defeat the witch and crown the four children. - Epilogue: during this time, one of the king of Archenland's twin kids was stolen by a lord who turns out to be a spy for the Tisroc.

I was a big TGIF fan growing up, and I always thought this show should have been a way bigger hit than it was... maybe even the next Dinosaurs, like it was obviously meant to be! Thanks for talking about this show, and please, PLEASE do a part two! Tiffany gets totally horny for Spit as the season progresses, and it's great, she totally wants some alien action! And Spit also makes up his own holiday called Tweeznax, it's so funny! Man, this show was great, I can only imagine what season two might have been like! And season three....

Wasn't there a whole scandal/hoax where someone edited a wiki page to create fake episodes with whole new episodes and characters (including a girl Street Shark) and even guest stars, and it actually spread to other pages? People were even claiming to remember some of these fake episodes, and I think some even said they had an action figure of the girl! You should do a part two and talk about that! 😁
