I feel like for The US and Asia Janet can really get away not performing the hits as she has a strong fanbase there. In Europe and Australia she really needed to play the hits in Europe like Whoops Now and the Best Things in Life are Free
i am glad she is doing Runaway, surprised she did not do it in the US, seems a much more popular and famous song than Make Me. Whoops Now indeed is one of her most popular songs here in Europe, probably after Together Again, Thats The Way Love Goes and Nasty, one of her biggest radio hits.
The version of Holiday you played is from streaming and it’s not the original version hence the lost lyrics. Yes, it charted at only 16. Her first crossover hit from the dance charts. THIS is how you know pop music before and after MADONNA. She fought long and hard for dance music to be taken seriously and a viable respected form of music. Hence opening a door Miss Jackson if you’re Nasty.
1st time I saw Janet was in Birmingham uk, few rows from the front, velvet rope tour…. Knew in that moment it was something amazing! Saw her years later at the royal Albert hall for the 1’s tour and it didn’t hit as hard… tbh it felt like she didn’t want to be there.
Believe it or not, Together Again Leg 2 is pretty high up there...I also agree with what you said about Rhythm Nation 30th Anniversary. It should have been way more for the album that it was celebrating.
Sooo...it sounds like Janet needs to inform herself. It's okay to criticize her for her ignorance-especially if she's making comments starting with "I heard...." If Janet had simply said that she didn't know, great. She didn't. Don't make excuses for her.

It's true. Unless your interests lies in American politics and you go out of your way to find the information for yourself, if you live in Europe you don't really hear about certain facts. Most Europeans and also the Media here tend to regurgitate whatever they have heard someone say or what they might have heard or read in the European news in passing. Janet Has lived in Europe for the past decade and I'm sure she has not been following whats been going on in the news (in America) of late. Was it ignorance? Most definitely yes. Should she be punished for it? Most definitely NO!
Yeah, I cringed when TMZ posted this. They're making it seem as though J doesn't want her to be black, which is furthest from the truth. A prime example of words taken out of context. Side Note- Hopefully, voters aren't basing their decision on race anyway. 😐 (who cares)
I've been riding with Janet since 1987. I stood beside her after the super bowl, the career downturn, and even let it go that she kept pretending that Michael wasn't guilty--because people can convince themselves of stuff about their family. But, I am turning in my Rhythm Nation uniform and unsaving her songs from my playlists after this. I get that you're apologizing for her and pretending like this isn't a big deal, but she and Randy can both go fuck themselves after spending all this time talking about bringing us together and then turning into Trump supporters.
I definitely understand it’s different but I believe this is where Janet stepped outside the box most really created a great album in addition to her music catalog. I didn’t want another Control Rhythm Nation or Janet album from her. That’s why I greatly appreciated this album . It’s so out the box and ahead of its time 🙌🏽
In how many ways can you rehash the same songs over and over again? She needs to perform the same deep cuts . She is boring . Nothing new. No new music. Your expectations are problematic, and they prove that Janet is not innovating. Same songs over and over and over again. This is bad.
