Madonna was a drummer in a punkband before she became their leadsinger and then going solo. This song got the rock influence her earlier material still had. Very funky as well. She didn't have a budget really til later videos but her charisma made up for it and her videos even the early ones when she didn't have any money are entertaining thanks to her star quality.
Looking forward to your Madonna exploration! The timing of her debut with the rise of MTV can't be underestimated. She immediately understood and embraced the visual medium. Legend has it that while filming Burning Up, the crane holding the camera over the boat she's lying in started to sink into the lake bottom and almost toppled over on top of her.
Her live versions of this song are fire! She plays the electric guitar and renders the song with the swagger and hard edge of a rocker which traces to her pop rock band roots in NYC in the late 70s and early 80s before she came out with her first album in 1983.
@@AgrassyhandleI agree. I’ve done a few reaction videos in the past and I got a copyright claim on almost every one so I couldn’t monetize the videos. I don’t understand how some of these people doing reaction videos are getting away with playing so much of the song or video? Unless they aren’t getting monetized. Which I would think they are since some of them have tons of views.
Just think that Madonna has always been described in a negative way since her debut, they said she was ugly, she couldn't sing and act and she would disappear soon
