It’s crazy how even though it isn’t directed stated or shown, this verse gives flashbacks to the exact scenes in the game. The imagery that Zach verses invokes is one of the reasons I love his music. The call backs to the fact that Joel was spiraling before he met Ellie and she saved him from himself. Ellie was willing to die for the cure while Joel saved her against her will. Joel’s daughter fate and how he saw Ellie as his daughter. And how Ellie was crashing out after Joel’s death which caused her to truly have nothing to lose or should I say caused her to lose everything.
