well done guys, the 1st day looked brutal in that heat and all that road you had to walk , looks like you had good socks on as there were no moans of blisters , nice to see a bit of hadrians wall along the way , it's still annoying knowing that someone cut the tree down , some human beings are just vile , glad you both got to the end in one piece despite the very sore feet , thanks for taking us along , really enjoyed the watch

Hi bud , just came across your vid of the night cat lay flat hammock. I tried mine out this weekend and I totally agree with your review and comments on this thing. The original door had a secret pull wire some eight feet to the right of the door which when pulled unlocked the swinging door. The door had rocks cemented to it which closed against some rocks to give the impression no door just a small rock fall. It also had a flexible chimney flue coming out further up the crag above. You can scramble further back inside and come out further up the crag on the right

As an avid explorer of jem’s in the lakes & a respectable wild camper woof cave has been on the list for me for a while, I’ve never been before however I am VERY good with directions & already know where it is. The problem is I fear it’s only a matter of time before this very well kept hidden jem becomes known to undesirables more frequently & I for one will not let that happen on my part so the secrets safe with me. I think I’ll visit this place mid week at some point when everyone’s at work probably in the winter months to really avoid the crowds too as I’d like to enjoy the place to myself for a night.. I tried with priests hole but that place is just a magnet for wild campers these days it’s occupied nearly every night of the week.

The last thing we want is "undesirables" in the Lake District, not respecting other people and the environment, and basically doing whatever they like and not accepting when they are wrong. Also, secret gems are no longer secret thanks to social media and RU-vidrs. Buiding their channel is far more important of course.

The last thing we want is to be trolled by hero keyboard warrior know it all's, but nevertheless here we are! I didn't give the exact location away by any means, and do correct me if I'm wrong, as you know everything, but I do believe the plaque on the wall says it was built for EVERYONE to enjoy! Go unplug your keyboard for a bit, have a nice cup of hot chocolate, and chill your beans. Love and light, Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁

Found Woof Cave over 15 years ago, and the unwritten rule was to never share GPS co-ords or clear directions on how to find it. There's plenty of clues about on the internet on how to find it without video directions of it being plastered all over the place. Filming inside is great, but leave the mystery of finding it out of videos. I've got quite friendly with the local farmers / campsite owners in the area, and that's how they want it to remain.
@richardjennings2708
@richardjennings2708 20 дней назад
@malesu1068 sadly there's very little respect for the locals of late, especially in Stonethwaite and Borrowdale in general. Insta and RU-vidrs are destroying Lakeland. Most are unintentionally doing so, but when anything is said to them you just get attacked for being a "troll", lol.
@ACumbrianladoutdoors
@ACumbrianladoutdoors 19 дней назад
@richardjennings2708 Internet troll, definition...when someone posts online negative comments deliberately to upset or provoke others. You deliberately pick out what you perceive to be negative about my videos, and no positives. Your opinions differ to mine, and that's fine, we can still be polite to each other. My channel is small, and likely will stay that way, I do this because I absolutely love it, and I am not chasing fame or fortune in any way, shape or form. Unfortunately the great Alfred Wainwright has brought more people (therefore more damage) to the Lake District than I would do in a million lifetimes. I'm a genuine lad just doing what he loves, simple as that. I'm also human, so therefore I'm capable of lapses of judgement on the odd occasion. Now if you genuinely check out my back catalogue of videos you will find that 99.9% of it is genuine wholesome camping videos, which promote all the good stuff. No one is perfect all the time, but I do try my best. Let's both try and be better. Much love, Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁
@richardjennings2708
@richardjennings2708 19 дней назад
@@ACumbrianladoutdoors Paul, I appreciate your honesty, and I agree, you do come across polite and a nice lad. However, having a fire on top of a slate spoil heap is the most dangerous place to have one. Plus, fires are illegal in the Lake District. If you had replied in the right manner, and took the advice onboard, then we would've had a better conversation. Sadly though there was no admission on your part, and you called me a "keyboard warrior". Is that really what you think I am, really? I go out and clean up litter and fire pits all over the Lake District, so no, I don't sit at a keyboard. I volunteer for NT, and my wife works for them. I photograph and update the authorities on a regular basis, and I also educate people on protecting the environment. Do I still sound like a keyboard warrior? For people like myself it is absolutely heart-breaking and very frustrating that RU-vidrs don't acknowledge when they've made a mistake.
@richardjennings2708
@richardjennings2708 25 дней назад
The most dangerous place to have a fire in the Lake District is on top of slate. Air gaps and centuries of rotting vegetation are the worst mix of all. You have decided to have a fire on a protected historical site owned by the National Trust, with no regard to the environment or for anyone else visiting the area. People like yourselves treating the Lake District in this way will result in a total ban on wild camping. It will then be the people who respect the environment that will suffer from your actions. Open fires in the Lake District are illegal. Simple, so have some respect for the volunteers and locals that clear up after your selfish actions!
@ACumbrianladoutdoors
@ACumbrianladoutdoors 25 дней назад
Thankyou for your comment, and of course you do have a point, that is why I asked the question in the video. Firstly I might say the area we camped in is not owned by the national trust, it is a farmers land. Secondly I might add that if you check out more of my videos you will find that I always leave no trace, and more often than not end up taking other people's rubbish home with me, check out my Easedale tarn vid 👍 on this very very rare occasion I decided to have a very very small fire in a long established fire pit of at least 10 years old. We cleaned the area and made very sure the fire was out before leaving, we left it better than we found it. Although no doubtedly you have a point, I do genuinely feel you have been a tad harsh with your words there buddy. Love and light, Paul 🙏🏕🏕🏕😁
@richardjennings2708
@richardjennings2708 25 дней назад
@ACumbrianladoutdoors Firstly, it is owned by the National Trust, believe me, I do know. Secondly, I don't care what you've done on previous so called "wild camps". It isn't a small fire. Fires spread, and become bigger due to stupidity like this. So if the fire pit was only one year old, you wouldn't have had a fire? What a stupid comment! So you cleared the fire pit away then? Just like I cleared this 10 year old pit away last year? So I have a point? Me? What do you think the land owner thinks about this? Well I showed him (them) this video yesterday and it's been reported to the police. What do you think the fire brigade think? Do you think they have a point, or are you just bothered by the fact you think I'm being harsh? The couple who live at Hodge Close have a point also, but do you care? What about the volunteers btw, who often clear up these fire pits? Do they have a point? I doubt you even care after seeing your response!
@ACumbrianladoutdoors
@ACumbrianladoutdoors 25 дней назад
@richardjennings2708 of course I care, like I say we left the place looking better than when we found it, and made sure the fire was completely out before we left. Other than when at my permission I think this is the only fire I have had in the lakes. You are entitled to your opinion, and so am I, I know I'm a responsible camper, always have been and always will be. You have a great day my friend 🧡
