Hello and welcome to Thebusofdoom's Transport Videos! On this channel you will find a variety of different transport videos around Australia.
Primarily based in Melbourne, you'll mostly find videos of Metro Trains Melbourne suburban trains, V/Line regional trains, Melbourne's world famous tram network, and plenty of bus videos. I also upload videos recorded in other cities such as Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and more!
I aim to upload videos frequently, and with a large backlog of videos you can be rest assured that there will always be something new on this channel.
Please note that I don't take requests for videos.
Cameras used:
Sony HDR-CX110 for most HD videos prior to 2017. Panasonic HC-V785 or VXF1 for videos uploaded after 2017 with 50fps. Panasonic VXF1 for 4K videos.
I commute daily on the Gippsland line, though only from Warragul to the city and back for work, however the times I leave the office late after 6pm the next train from Southern Cross is the 6:33pm service to Bairnsdale which is the evening Gippslander. It's always a treat to ride the N-class even just to Warragul, the quiet ride compared to the Vlocity sets is nice, the Vlocity sets always screw with the noise cancellation on my AirPods and some of the engine noise still bleeds through, doesn't happen on the N-sets though and is usually dead silent the entire trip. Will be a shame once it's retired though, I still think a buffet equipped Vlocity is needed for this line beyond Traralgon, they should make a few more of the Albury style sets and make them broad gauge for the longer lines to Bairnsdale, Swan Hill and Warrnambool. Not being able to buy food/drinks for a three or more-hour trip is unfortunate.
I like the sign on the train, very clear and doesn't fade in the cameras. Also, I have noticed there are a few different type of electronic display board been used on the trains. I like the yellow boldface. I can see it very clearly whiteout my glasses.
@@garrymock2742 Trains 8460 & 8469 are the last two regular Bairnsdale services operated with N Class locomotive hauled trains which is the message this video conveys. They're still running with N Classes to this day and will continue to do so for a couple of more months or so until the new stabling in Bairnsdale is complete.
Why does the working timetable of v/line has the VN still listed on Eastern line? I think all the track works have be completed beforehand as well as the siding for vols. I say currently it TBA.....
I’d still use them on short services to bacchus marsh Melton Wyndham vale little river stony point etc even Ararat to Nhill I wonder why they don’t extend the line from Echuca to moama as a terminal station
This video was uploaded a year late but better late than never, here we are. A reminder that the 2024 AMRA Model Railway Exhibition is being held this weekend at the Melbourne Showgrounds. I've put the details and links in the video description.
Another great video from you, well done. Will be sad when the last N class service ends. Surprised to see in a couple of locations the signal showing green in the oncoming direction of train.
It's a real shame as I always enjoyed them and when they passed Cremorne it was a delight, though the last time I saw it without riding it, it was vandalised.😔😭
They will still be running to Swan Hill for the foreseeable future as there's currently no plans to operate Vlocity trains on that line. You can ride one between Melbourne and Bendigo with a Myki card. They still operate all services to Warrnambool, and the evening train from Melbourne to Bairnsdale and the return morning trip to Melbourne the following day. Both Warrnambool and Bairnsdale services are supposed to be replaced with Vlocities before the end of the year but no exact date has been set.
N Classes and N-Sets have not ended service on the Gippland line and in fact will continue until around mid September. This video's description is misleading, it calls the depicted services "the last N Class services", except it doesn't mean the last individual services, but instead the last 2 scheduled daily times that N Classes run on the Bairnsdale line. These trains will continue running at these times until mid September this year, when there is no longer any need for them and the schedule updates. The only reason they still run is because Bairnsdale does not have the facilities to store VLocities overnight, and so the services which require a trains stabled overnight either before or after require N-Sets. This will not be the case soon, but it still is and thus the first up and last down Bairnsdales are N-Sets for now
BusofdoomfFSX please change the title and description of the video to make it less misleading. It nearly seems you're doing it on purpose for views, please let that not be the case.
@@Comeng17 Thanks for your feedback, but I do not consider the video title and description to be misleading and I see no need to change it. The video itself, the title and the description correctly refers to trains 8460 & 8469 as being the last rostered N Class services on the Gippsland Line. This video does not state that these are the last ever N Class services to Bairnsdale and that they won't be running ever again; the video title and description would have been worded appropriately if this was the case. It's noted clearly that this video was filmed in February 2024 and that N Class services still run to Bairnsdale and will continue to do so until the new stabling siding at Bairnsdale is completed later this year.
This why I didn't what this to happen to the N Class Locos to Bairnsdale I just wish they were running forever! Because these trains are part of my childhood!!🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😢😢😢😢😢😢
This is not the last N-Set service and they will in fact continue until September, this video is just highly misleading in it's conveying of that message

There goes a train suited for purposed being replaced by a two decade old commuter train that was never really intended for long distance services like this. Seeing how backwards the state is going and only caring about capacity on long distant services is just honestly sad. Shoulda built new locomotives and carriages (like of Siemens Charger and Venture cars being used by Amtrak over in the United States) instead of reusing an outdated DMU to do the job, but nope the government just had to choose the cheap way, did it? Pathetic. 🙄 also nice video btw

V/line could have converted some z carriages to DVT's since the main problem is turnaround time, but I guess we have to sit our rears on an uncomfortable DMU now

Awesome video Mate I’m so happy for new Keon park station now it’s big improvement then before and I remember long time when the old Keon park station was duplication double track in 2011 between Keon park station and Epping station for old South Morang rail extension project back then until now it’s Mernda line.Hopefully they will do more level crossings removal on Mernda line in the future 😊👍🚉
The upgrade at Keon Parks seems to be huge! This seems similar to Ringwood East; I have heard people talking about how much bigger Ringwood East is now and it does look big. Great video mate.
