Trains at East Pakenham; Melbourne's Newest Train Station [4k] 

In this video we visit Melbourne's newest train station at East Pakenham. Built in conjunction with a level crossing project to remove three level crossings in Pakenham, East Pakenham is the new terminus of the Pakenham Line with Metro services extending 2.5km from the old Pakenham station. The station opened on the 3rd June 2024 along with the new Pakenham station. It was built to remove the bottleneck at the old Pakenham station by allowing V/Line trains to pass terminating Metro trains, as well as serving future residential areas within the Pakenham East Precinct Structure Plan.
We visit the station around four weeks after opening where we see several High Capacity Metro Trains (HCMT's) arrive and depart the station. Being filmed on a weekend only platform 1 was in use. We also see two V/Line Vlocity trains on the Gippsland Line pass through the station on the outer bypass tracks. We also take a quick tour around the station.
