bro i am really fkd up how u got that clear drawing with the brush i could not abled to get that type of clear drawings my lines get blurry at the end and really sad those sketchy lines are looking so good.
I think this is basically showing me the thing I've suspected - I missed a step and that's holding me back. When I started drawing, I was... extremely impatient. And my first at teacher, who meant well but came from a *very* different world than what I was aiming for, had me basically jump right to gestural drawing. And don't' get me wrong - there's good stuff in that, I learned a lot, and I feel like motion is one thing I do fairly well (when I can prevent myself from stiffening things too much with my inks - which is it's own thing) - but... I don't think I ever took the time to do the building blocks properly. And without that foundation I think it's why everything I draw always looks off. That plus again, my ink being way too static. This gives me a direction to aim in, I think. Especially as I go back to class this fall.
HI charlie I have been drawing for 1 year, when I draw anatomy I draw it reasonably well with references, but when I remove them, the body becomes ugly, rigid and sometimes disproportionate, could you give me some advice
Out of all the art videos I watched, this one actually made me feel like being a skilled 2D artist is within reach. You told me that it's not some mountain I have to climb, rather that it's a language I must learn. Once I understand that language, it'll be as natural for me as it is for you. Thank you, that really put the fire back into me to learn this art form. I already do plenty of studying and grinding in my life, so I already have the skills to put pen to paper and grind out the shapes and forms until I understand it the way I understand English or Français. Also ik everyone mentioning ur voice but you did speak in that really calming tone right up to the mic ik u did it on purpose and omg ur voice hits the spot ty haha
I started skillshare because of one of your prior videos. Brent Eviston is exactly the dude I would recommend too. I am still not very confident in my skills, but WAY more than I was before I started Brent's classes.
