Hi Friends! I am Amanda. Wife of Brackston. Mama to 5 (Almost 6) Kiddos. My oldest is 14, and youngest is 2. Apraxia Mama. {Baby Caleb} Quit chasing the line cook life to be home with my babies. Homeschooler.
You will find Grocery Hauls, Food Content, DITL and a bit of homeschool content here!
Good decision but that grocery haul should have only included what would be consumed in the new diet change - it includes natural whole one ingredient foods. You are the mother, your kids will eat what you serve them. Please follow Lillie Kane for great guidance. Also, even though its primarily keto, I believe you will benefit from watching a documentary called "The Magic Pill." I am astounded you are staying under that $200 range for 8 people per week. That is what I spend per week for just my husband and I and our pets.
This was 3 weeks ago. My children were slowly transitioned to a new way of eating as to not shock them or cause them resentment towards the change. Because I did it slowly they have fully embraced the change. Because you are right, I am their mother and I know best. Keep tuned as each week gets stricter and stricter with what I purchase. I am able to stay at $200-250 a week because I purchase our meat in bulk yearly!
@@FromHisBountifulBlessings I can't afford to buy a half a cow all at once and I do not have a place to store that much meat...I also cannot afford to get a freezer to hold that amount of meat. I think I would rather go back to getting Butch Box.
@tamiramos5873 That is a great option given your family size. We have two large deep freezers and I save up for it monthly to purchase our meat in bulk. For how many people we need to feed it’s the only cost effective way!
I was doing keto and then transition to carnivore and really loved it I felt good I lost weight and then I went off the wagon. Now I'm doing keto again to get rid of some of the stuff that I had for keto since my husband is not doing it anymore and we will go back on carnivore android. Unless somebody has been on the carnivore they have no idea what health benefits it has for you how it makes you feel a lot better peanut butter and jelly all around
@@FromHisBountifulBlessings yes I agree and you look back to when the cavemen were here and they ate that and they were good. I know that it dates back. Although you were doing it a lot healthier as far as we did Dirty carnivore so not everything was grass-fed we did buy a grass-fed cow but the pork and everything like that was not and we still felt more clarity and thinking lost weight felt way better because of my health issues as well and I'm only 40
Thanks! I did that for 3+ years with minimal results and high levels of frustration!!! Restrictive calorie’s, minimal sugars, good ol margarine and 4 days of CrossFit a week!! Tracking every detail just to see the scale never move - but I gained strength! You do you!!!
Or - maybe, I have underlying health issues such as insulin resistance and PCOS that requires something other than a one size fits all approach. I got to where I was eat only 1000 calories a day. But scale not moving… all because I didn’t know I was insulin resistant
Thank you! I’m already seeing increased energy levels and playfulness out of Caleb. Other kids are feeling less snacky and more satisfied. Brackston and I are amazed at how little we need to feel satiated for hours on end and how much energy and balance we’re feeling!
Are nuts something allowed on this food diet? If so , it’s a good source of protein, and you can get almond or cashew flour to make treats once in a while to replace the gluten even bread….. as far as the mold goes, my sister has successfully conquered it by a diet similar to yours as well as seeking a natural path who had her start apple cider vinegar among all others… I love Azure for the cheese!!!! Good luck, I am rooting for you.. potatoes may also be an option for flour also if allowed….we do a very similar diet, it’s fun!
Nuts are not allowed! This is extremely similar to carnivore ; but adding the fruit, dairy and maple syrup/honey. There is options for carnivore type flours ; but for now, we are just abstaining from baked goods except for on birthdays coming up - we will opt for a gluten free/seed oil free option!! The less we consume those types of things - the easier our bodies will detox/digest them when we do “treat” ourselves to them! The beginning of next year I do plan to start adding back in long fermented sourdough goodies! This initial period of “strictness” is for healing purposes!
This grocery haul was over 3 weeks ago ; and all 6 of the kids are doing very well with the changes. Including Caleb - whose hunger which previously never seemed to be satisfied ; is now being satisfied. They do not feel deprived + actually report they feel fuller ; longer and feel more satisfied than with our previous meal plans.
@@FromHisBountifulBlessingsI'm glad to hear it's going well! We switched our kids to keto from a SAD 1 year ago and it was an adjustment, but it has been soooo worth it. Better emotional regulation, better impulse control, and a better growth rate. You go mama!
Me too! We’re 3 weeks in, and so far it’s been really great for all of us. We did a slow introduction for all of June - and now here in July we’ve been more strict and it’s getting easier every day!!
I ran across someone on Twitter yesterday who was talking about how flour that is used and sold in the USA is illegal in almost every other country in the world. I wish I had listened to the entire video but had to go out. Now I can't find it. I intend to dig deeper into this. Thought you might want to look into it also. It may just be me, but do you think Caleb is doing much better since the move? He just looks and seems different. Of course, I only see clips of his life, but something seems better with him. As far as the diet you are starting your family on, I think it is a very smart decision. I think you will see some amazing results. Hope ya'll had a wonderful 4th of July!!
I have done a lot of research into flour! Milling your own is the best option ; but right now we are going to steer away from gluten for the rest of the year entirely. Then, next year I will add long fermented sourdough back into our diet using an unbleached unenriched organic flour. A great book I love to learn about this is The Essential Home Ground Flour book by Sue Becker! Caleb is definitely improving as far as mood, and his personality is bubbling out a lot more since we moved. That is mainly because our house was making us all very sick - and it affected Caleb and Syril the most! I plan to share more on this, when the house is finally sold - and we can close the chapter on that entirely. Thanks for tuning in Cathy! <3
Amanda ,you're the best mother you can be . You're doing what you need to do for your family . God will bring you through it, and I bet the children will benefit very well with it . Caleb looks much happier living where you're at now . I am excited to see how it works for your family . Prayers for you and your family, may God bless you !
Thank you so much for that encouragement, Connie! Caleb loves our new yard (well, all of our kids do!!) They are doing great with the new way of eating, and adjusting well! God Bless you!
I hate to say it but that son of yours is already big as a pig you shouldn't have let him eat a other banana and you were worried about the ingredients in the food you should be ashamed of what you let your son eat Ice-cream bread and junk food he don't need you are trying to kill him and you should have punished him for throwing a tantrum for another banana
Ahhh amanda! So happy to see a video. I haven't been much on YT or IG but love seeing your videos. You're moving?!?! What?!?! I have to check past videos. ♡
Yes! We are working on getting our fixer upper sold. I promise the day we close and have a check in my hand.... I will spill all the reasons we ultimately decided to sell that house! <3
I Wish You Amanda, Braxton And Family All The Best To You Now And In The Future! You Are In My Thoughts And My Prayers Too! Much Love To All Of You! 💕❤️💕💕❤️❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌺🌺🌺😊🙏🙏!
I had to put my mom house on the market for her probate, and it sold in 3 days above the asking price, and they paid closing. SO SENDING PRAYERS, your house sales fast and above asking price ❤
Oh wow! Thats amazing! We went pending in 3 days - but, our buyers aren’t working out and we will have to relist. It’s a bummer - but Gods timing is better than mine!
Good morning. I'm glad to see ya , great haul . I agree it's your business for what you do and moving . It's hard enough to unpack in a new place . Hope the best for you and your family . Congratulations on your new place !
