Just having a charging issue on a Norton 1973 850 commando with a 3 stage regulator. Battery was giving me mixed signals, thought it may be an issue with a Motobatt Agm battery. Still may? However with your video, I just brought the new replacement regulator inside to check and it tested perfect, just as you instructed. Thanks so much!!!! I will pull the old one in soon and check it out per your video. At least I'll know more than I know now, and have narrowed down the odds. Bets are on the 20 year old Regulator!!!!! Just waiting to start bike up and see 14V and higher when throttle is opened, instead of 12.9 and 13V. Stator is good!!!! Robert TN

This is often problem with generic after market clutch levers. They simply don't move the clutch switch' button all the way to close the circuit.

Can we use this method on a plastic tank?

Ehm, the "OL" stands for "overload" and definitely not for zero 🙂 but indeed, the test has shown, that one of the diodes in the R/R is dead - meaning, a new R/R unit is required to be able to properly charge the bike.

My bike stalls when the signal is on and braking and i saw someone having the same problem changed the R/R to one from a kawasaki ninja and all the problems went away Ty for this

They can be dismantled from the original bar end adapters by unscrewing the two bolts ? 🤔

Obviously the PREMIUM fix is to take your bar end weights to a machinist and have them chucked in a lathe and turn down a section to precise 7/8"? Precise width and it will look factory install eaisly and be perfect....guessing $30 to $50 bucks? OR take to a junior college machine shop class and pay a student $20 to knock em out as a class project....hope they dont mess it up lol

Wonder if you could instead use some slices off old 7/8 hadlebars? I have an MT-10 with maybe identical bar end weights ....I was actually considering turning down a section to the right diameter except I dont own a lathe....then I read where a guy hand gound a channel by EYE! That is too caveman even for me lol so I am thinking of chucking the weights in drill press as poor mans lathe and then use counter roating grinder to create close to 1/8" deep channel for bar end mirror clamps? anyone brave enough to try this? worse case you buy inew weights

I did a similar mod with my bike. When riding, my hands get get tingly. Could this be caused by the bar end not going in tight enough? Have you experienced anything similar?
