The first time I heard this song was when they released the OMV, and indeed it was not my new favorite The Warning song contrary to other new songs of them. But as you say, the more I listened to it, it grew on me and now it definitely is one of my favorites and in my top 5 of most beautiful TW songs.

I believe it's time you react to "disciple", great bass, plus Pau & Dany alternate lead singing.

The thing I hate about this song is that it ends....seriously though, I get chills every single time I see or here this! On a side note, I have fallen in Love.....with the entire QOTMS masterpeice!

I am in that discovery mode, with elements of songs "knocking at the doors" of my mind unexpectedly, with the new songs from KMF. I am still absorbing those new songs. I'm just a Greedy Little F*cker. (Did that surprise anyone else? ) I used to think of this as the Rush effect, when Rush would release new music, and indivual songs would "come through" for me bit by bit. Each one becoming my favorite for a while. Well hell, TWB effect is that your fave TW song is...the last one you heard. What a genius band. Like Pau says before the scream of destruction "keep em up keep em up". Keep it up Phil.

Phil, this is a recent fan made video of one of the new songs but for some reason it sounds really good and isolates all of the voices and instruments really well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ObTxLOH7a7I.html

The notes composition and music is different in Spanish music than English. Listen to any mariachi group or say Vicente Fernandez to see the difference. I think the result is more powerful. It's subtle but powerful. Also .. were you summoning @TheCharasmaticVoice ? 🕯️

Haha yup. People kept saying how I remind them of Elizabeth from TheCharasmaticVoice, so I made a Borat joke responding to one of those comments in the Choke reaction, and Elizabeth replied 😂

I've been on the same mission, (tickets bought for Rogers arena Oct 15th) been nonstop The Warning videos, bought cd on constant shuffle in car, watching everyone's reaction videos, love seeing others feel the same way. I'm a 54 year old man fangirling harder than i ever have...ever.

Great reaction as always, Phil!!! This is one of the favorite songs for me. From a playing perspective, Pau freely admits that even though she's the drummer, she doesn't keep the band on time - Ale does, because she's better at it - everyone looks to Ale for the lead on timing. If playing live is their "superpower", Ale is their "secret weapon". The best way to think of the person the singer is talking about/to is... have you ever known someone who is in love with their own depression, and constantly complains about how horrible their lives are? And how you very quickly get sick of it, and can't seem to get across to them that they are mostly self-sabotaging and are responsible for their own condition, so eventually you just stop trying... and perhaps even give up on being their friend toss your hands up and tell them, "Fine, be that way, just not around me"? It's like that.

In Mexican Spanish, 'martirio' may refer to something that's emotionally taxing (as within a family or romantic setting) that you cannot so easily get out of, not necessarily 'martyrdom', the dictionary meaning; for example, an upset mom telling her teen kids 'ustedes son mi martirio'.

Lots of songs on albums that seem not there. Then you listen to the album more that song starts to sink in. Next thing you know you can’t it out of your head.

Great stab at translating! In a nutshell: Drown in your martyrdom, surrender to your destiny, give up and die. I wasn't crazy about this song when I first heard it, but then I read the lyrics, and it hooked me. Knowing the song refers to someone's death, Dany's vocals at the end now gives me chills. Great job, Phil!!!

I'm learning bass, and I always mess up Ale's fills. lol. They're probably not actually that hard for people with more experience playing, but sometimes she switches strings so fast I can't keep up lol.

I just looked up the English translation of the lyrics. These girls are too damn young to be writing lyrics this good. All of their songs. The lyrics have such deep meaning and the lyrics paint quite a picture. Forgetting their musicianship, their song writing ability is incredible.

It's so cool that each one of them carry equal weight. The drums and the bass each have their own distinct parts. They don't just keep rhythm. It seemed to me that Ale and Pau we opposite in this one. When Ale had her own thing going Pau was following the guitar, then when Ale followed the guitar, Pau was doing her thing tossing triplets in there then they would all three come together in the chorus. The rhythm section carries a lot of weight in this one but damn, let's hand it to Dany for those guitar solos. They weren't intricate but they sure were beautifully cool.

I totally get what you mean Phil, about the song growing on you, needing time to sit with it. I have an (almost) embarrassing version of this... 1997, my very first CD I bought for myself of 'my music', was Naveed. I did not 'get' the title track. Cut to 2 years ago I saw OLP in my city and I cried when they started that song I wanted to hear it so bad. I don't speak enough Spanish to understand this song without reading a translation, so for sure to me I was struck by Ale here. Yet another song that seems like it has to be experienced live!
