@DivineAV
@DivineAV 14 дней назад
@@JeffD-bl4rr probably wasn’t configured properly. The Sony is native 4K. The Epson is a shifting Projector. The Epson has a better feature set and professional geometric correction. Build quality definitely goes to Epson, but overall clarity is Sony all day long. Colors, is a tossup but maybe a slight edge on Epson. Really depends on the individual person. How is the install on exterior walls with vapor barrier?
@DivineAV
@DivineAV 17 дней назад
@@Mortagleus depends on the build, but most likely exactly the same. In the United States the majority of walls are going to be 2 x 4 or 2 x 6. From inside out: sheet rock, insulation in stud cavity, Osb sheathing, vapor barrier, exterior finishing solution. There wouldn’t be a vapor barrier on the sheetrock side because then it would lock in moisture between the studs. If you’re talking about mass loaded vinyl or something like that, you would need to use a back box with mass loaded vinyl, completing the circuit. Let me know if that answers your question. Thanks buddy.
@DivineAV
@DivineAV 17 дней назад
I’m realizing, perhaps you’re talking about putting an in wall speaker to play into an exterior space like a patio. If that’s the case, cut the hole out first using a jigsaw, Get a specific back box for the speaker that you’re trying to use, cover the entire backside of the box with something like Dynamat, Put Weather strip around the inside of the speaker lip prior to installation, install the speaker securely. If it’s an in ceiling speaker, like on a patio, if you have access above, use an insulating dome and poly seal that against the ceiling material. Then install your ceiling speaker.

There isn’t a massive difference between these two subs. The spl made more than rated rms while the 1200 made less that stated rms. The spl meter showed the spl 120 was louder which is why you probably cut the vid short. The only thing I gleaned from this is that the spl-120 is still a viable option if you are looking for a Klipsch sub.

The 504 is more refined than the RC64. Sounds like the crossover is higher on the 504, so slightly less mids coming through the horn. Having said that, there’s more clarity and energy in the 64 - especially on the vocals. And still refined enough to not sound too harsh. It would be a hard choice. I noticed this previously when comparing the old RC or RB line with the newer RP series. Something can possibly be missing when it comes to excitement. Both are forward heavy on the mids and treble, but I like the RC and RB series for some reason. Maybe not as clinical but the clarity on them is out of this world. Especially the second and third generation. Probably can find them way cheaper now too.

Don't throw it away! Can I buy the amp plate from the spl-120 off of you? I live in Van Alstyne, TX.
@DivineAV
@DivineAV 3 месяца назад
Mine failed. This was a bit of an issue on those particular subs. We generally recommend running that one at around 50% capacity. It tends to live in that range. Klipsch is one of the best companies out there for warranty claims. Reach out to the dealer that you bought it from and have them put in a claim. Sometimes they will take care of it out of warranty if it’s a decent size Klipsch dealer. You can also just modify it and use something like a crown or other amplifier that puts out more power. Drill a hole in the back of it and then silicone it after you make the connections

Can’t be 100% sure, but the amplifier looks to be identical to that found in the SPL-150, the measurements help n confirming this. The SPL-100/120/150 all share identical PS/Amp PCBs (all three are marked on the board). They just stuff them differently to achieve the rated power per application. Great class D’s- IRS2092 based if I recall correctly 😎 So, same(ish) amp, and larger box. Only real advantage imo is the reduced port chuff. Not at all digging the increase in size/weight for a few hz lower extension/small spl increase. The older models look like even more of a bargain after watching your video. Thanks for the data point🤙
@DivineAV
@DivineAV 3 месяца назад
Yeah, the old subs are really good if you can find a good deal on them. But I can say the amp is definitely different and improved because we had a ton of issues with the previous model. Now Klipsch is amazing and they took care of every single one of them in warranty or not. But the new ones have been absolutely rock solid. And the chuffing reduction is a huge improvement. Thanks for taking the time to comment, great thoughts

The Epson is actually quite a bit brighter than the Epson, so what gives? The MWAVE comparisons side by side did not make the Epson looked so dim and they were both calibrated too. Epson is rated at 2700 lumens. Sony at 2000 lumens. Yet Sony looks way brighter than the Epson in this side by side?

hey my friend, thank you very much for reaching out. For your room, I would definitely recommend the RP 600s and 1000 SW. If budget constraints, the SPL 100 or 120 can be found at some sources. their performance is still very good but I recommend running them at around 50% gain otherwise you could experience some long-term amplification failure. The 1000sw has a five-year warranty instead of two and is a more reliable unit plus doesn’t suffer from chuffing noise. RP 500 is a bit small for the space. Thank you so much for your support!
