The conveyer loader is a marvel of engineering, and it floats! Just an FYI for the uninformed, bauxite is the ore aluminum is made (smelted) from, and aluminum is the most prevalent metal in the world.
@@ojusrawat - I was thinking longer than that, considering the size. Once, we loaded 16 000 tons of corn in Manzanillo, Mexico and it took 2 weeks. It was done ''by hand '' It came in sacks which were then cut open. Most of us didn't mind, as we were alongside. Went ashore every evening. BTW. I sailed 42 years, now retired. Personally, I prefer bulkers. Long port stays and long voyages. Less stress. Keep away fron container ships. Too stressfull. 46 days voyage, love it. Peace.
42 years !!!! that's quite a long career at Sea. Nowadays, loading Operation on bulkers (cape size, panamax, valemax) is quite fast. I have experienced full loading at Port hedland, Aus in less than 24 hrs. Indeed long voyages are peaceful by all means. Thanks for dropping by. Cheers !!!
@@ojusrawat - Yes, 42 years is a long time. I could have continued 5 years more, but I had enough, as it was only container ships I was sent to, which were getting larger and larger, the crew getting smaller and smaller and we were getting older and plder. If the company (Maersk) could operate their ships by remote from the head office in Copenhagen, they would gladly do it. Watch out for those large waves.
Thanks chief officer. That was great to let this see. A lot of people see this kind of ships sailing in and out off the port of Rotterdam but they don't know what happens on board. Greet from a portworker in the port of Rotterdam. ( EMO )
Nice video... Actually recently i visited your home due to some gvt work and met your parents...uncle is so hard working and did a lot of work for his village betterment
One AI assisted Doctor robot medical device like devinci would definately improve situation to all seafeares on board of Cargo , Lng , tanker etc. Ships even without medical knowleadge you will be able to do most complicated procedures , without risk of infections or worse death , plus entire ai Hospital is moveable so it can install from ship to ship .
Thank you so much for going though bulk cargo discharge 😊 very interesting hatch and ladder system to enter/ exit bulk cargo area 😊 do they use any other type of assistance heavy equipment in getting that last bit of iron ore I saw an excavator in hold, do you use a Dozer or front end loader also, just asking 😊❤
Hello, Great video. Which are the better type of cranes and could you explain why? We are looking at a gantry STS crane for bulk discharge and working container ships.
Im an I.R in Australia 🇭🇲⚓🍺.Do you Remember a Bulk Carrier Ship NEGO KIM? a Ship anchored ⚓ off Dampier W.A back in 2001?,8 crew members were killed 4 down in cargo hold 1 whilst doing maintenance?,and 4 were on the foredeck were blown over the side-never seen again. What happened whilst doing the maintenance in the Cargo hold not only using a Chemical Substances to Clean the excess deposits from building up it required a Paint job to finish the job.But sad to say the 8 crew were didn't go home what happened when the painting was in procedure the Paint was Chemical & they sprayed the Ballast Tank then a explosion happened killing 8 which 4 were instantly killed from the sevre burning.4 of the other Crew died were blown over the side due to impact of the explosion they were never seen again even by Search & Rescue team.
