So, first off great video demo. 2nd. I just ordered a pro slide from your place and I was curious. I have a 2021 scag swzt 48. I'm 5ft 11in and 220lbs. Do I need a weight kit ? Even if I'm not doing hills? Or is that only for hills? Thanks again.
All too commonly I see people grind in a direction that rolls more of a burr off the edge off the blade edge. The grinder should be shooting sparks down ward. At least you use a bench grinder to remove the larger burr.
If you don’t use a stick edger on my property at least 2-3 times a year you wouldn’t have my business. Definitely needed on the first mow/spring clean up to establish the edge, then a mid year and late season touch up. I don’t care if you use the string trimmer on maintenance cuts but this is the kind of stuff that makes you look more professional than the other guys.
Great tips on the little things like using a pitchfork to load the mulch and keeping it on the edge when spreading. Also great tips on the edging and spreading the mulch. Awesome job!
Such a great video!! Thank you! Do beds need mulching every year or can it be skipped? I dont care so much for aesthetic or looking good. Also do you remove previous seasons mulch? Thanks :)
How do you get rid of weeds if they’re already in the bed? Do you try just pulling them spraying on them or do you do some kind of hand tilling to get them all pulled up? Do you ever put fabric down or do you think that’s a waste of time? Do use exact same chemical, more or less as preen or some of the other pre-emergents? I haven’t had much luck with preen itself.
I connected my battery to my truck battery and start of the truck and the Blazing gauge every single time. When I disconnected from the truck and it's just on the battery on the mower it is not engage the blades. And also the battery seems to die so I'm thinking it's possibly the alternator. But I searched for alternator for this Kawasaki engine and I'm not getting an alternator.
Loved how meticulous you were. Great work… and i’m really glad the title pic wasn’t click bait and shown as one of your jobs at the end. Haha. Thanks for the video.
Looks good overall. I'm surprised that you followed the original outline. The lines have flat spots in areas and the curves are too sharp in others. Following the line from the driveway the first cut to the left needed at least 2 to 3 feet cut into the turf to flow that line more naturally and to make mowing the line easier and enabling a closer trim to the bed edge with a mower.
Great video! I'm in Kentucky and will be taking the test. I had to call because I wasn't sure if I only needed to study for Category 3, but it seems pretty straight forward.
I was surprised when wanted to clean my deck this fall and discovered that they were already clean as a whistle. As it turns out, what did it was mulching leaves. I have a lot of trees which I guess is necessary. I didn't have to scrape anything. Even the crud was off the blades. During the spring and summer months if you do a lot of mowing I guess you'll have to clean the deck and blades unless you can make it to the fall
I'm not sure what that spray can is behind the vice but you're straight up showering it with the hot sparks and if they hit just right, dull blades will be the LEAST of your worries.
