Tommy's mouth open in the first round! This was the fight that showed me tommy was on the way down. An incredible upset which I love! And great announcers Al & Gil...
If you listen to Tommy talk about his terrible childhood you he can hear the pain in his voice. He grew up in a violent, poverty stricken home and boxing was his only way out. However, boxing in itself is a cruel and vicious sport and it chewed and spat Tommy out when it was done with him. I often wonder what Tommy did with his life from his retirement from boxing in 1996 till his death in 2013. He must have been totally lost in life. Forget about those two fights he had not too long before his death - those were just farces. This interview was sad to watch. Tommy looked 65 here, not 40! Drug addiction is deadly!
There was no fight breaking out in the ring Lampley!!! Tarver swung his arm celebrating and the camera man was in the line of fire. Lampley ALWAYS would run his mouth before he knew what was going on, especially during the fights!
Hearns was,my fave... hitman man believed his power ...had hearns boxed these 2 fights he woulda be barkley.Barkley.. hearns was used to outbrawling dudes..but gotta outbrawled by Barkley
Don was primarily a wrestler and an MMA guy. Fighting under kickboxing rules against a world champion kickboxer like Jerome was never going to end well for Don. I remember watching a clip where Mike Tyson said he would never fight a martial arts guy and the fighter he singled out was Jerome whom he referred to as 'a monster'.
