To be fair about the messiness of _Lunatics_ : - Buddhism is, to put it shortly, a religion all about "letting go" of things that hold us back in order to achieve self improvement ("enlightenment"). What the hell does this have to do with anything? See below. - Suda just off the rip killing off characters he worked so hard to develop previously is a loud statement of how much "letting go" is core to the plot as was as his design philosophy - phrases like "annihilation of the self" and "kill the past" all evoke those Buddhist themes - it should be obvious that Buddhism is the largest religion in Japan (tied with their indigenous Shintoism) - many characters throughout the Sudaverse just reincarnate without explanation. They lack explanation because it is just what a Buddhist audience would expect and/or assume - "Kill the Past" thematically is basically Punk Buddhism
i think the movie loses a lot of humor by trying to give the characters and story more nice conclusions and it’s just not for me, tho i do like the movie, i wish it was a bit less of an action comedy and more of a black comedy
I put the entire Metal Slug arcade series on my MAME emulator and proceeded to spend 3 days beating them all back to back... I did use continues, but I never spammed them, only when needed. I hadn't played them as a kid since my local arcades were pretty jam packed with top tier cabinets. I wish they'd invested in a Neo Geo SNK cabinet though because I consider this the best series of games I never got to play as a kid that I wanted to. So glad I finally got to experience the series and beat them all. Yes I agree the series declined as the sequels grew, but whereas Most see that as a reason to dislike the sequels more and more, I still enjoyed every game playing through them and I'd have to say at least the first 3 are completely replayable time and time again.
@@Ghenry Hit a nerve there huh? maybe stick to making brainrot essay videos about shitty nip games. Or maybe don't, 3k views a video doesn't sound like you are making it lmao.
only real men took the straight forward path on mission 4 in Metal Slug 3, those japanese army guys were tough as shit, and only top notch reflexes could assure your survival... and like 10 tokens to keep on playing too.
After the arcades closed down in the malls we started going to the pizza place by my house. They had 2 NeoGeo multi cart cabs. They had a few others but my money went into the NeoGeo. After school in highschool we would always go there and play KOF, AoF, and Metal Slug 1 & X. They had some shmups they would switch in sometimes but we stuck to ones I mentioned
Metal slug 3 is my favorite. But it was pretty cool being turned into a mummy in Metal slug x. As a kid it blew my mind. It scared me being turned into a zombie in MS3 though but their grenade attack is one of the coolest attacks in the whole series.
I grew up at the tail end of arcades this game, and marvel vs capcom 2 always captured my young brain whether i had the money or not. Also that latino history is true to the nail.
off the bat I really like Let It Die and I'm wondering how Lily Bergamo connects to LID. It looks so different lmao. It'd be interesting if they'd have kept the art style. If anyone is reading this in 2024 watch Dorohedoro it's got the same vibes as LID.
7:11 to be fair this could be a reference to the police zombies from DR1 when originally they were able to shoot guns but probably a reference to day of the dead -.-
Very good video, I played the game for the first time last year and fell in love with it. A remake with faithful artstyle, that doesn't change animations nor gameplay (basically HD textures port), would be a dream for me, so I agree.
As an oldschool Suda51 Fan (who played K7 when it was released), who stopped playing Suda51 Games with NMH(and just came back for the Silver Cases), I couldnt agree more. I loved FSR on the DS and its visuals. It really enhances its surreal vibe even more. There is a short scene, in the middle of the game, where you enter a dinghy to get to an island, if I remember correctly, that short scene got an exclusive musictrack and its badass. It just elevates that mundane scene to one of my favourite scenes and I love Suda for exactly this.
One thing hard ahh games like these gave me was the desire to hone and sharpen my skills and that lead to an overall desire to just GIT GUD. Didn't care what, If I noticed improvement, my brain went brr.
