I am similar. Herbalism also helped me. Susun Weed and others. You can use the herbs you learn about (that grow near you and cost nothing) in your hair care routine. For example I use burdock in my scalp oil and tea. Its fun to learn the properties and how to gather it. Its amazing when you create something all by yourself but it WORKS!🤗🤗🤗

61 years here! Started these methods (as per Katherine’s instructions) about a year and a half ago. My naturally grey hair has gone from mid shoulder blade length to my hips in that time. It is thicker and stronger. I wash only once a month now with only positive results. I’ve made the oils as per her recipe and love it! Strongly recommend her methods. She’s done the work for us with her recipes and research, all we need is patience to see the growth! 🩷

I will be 50 in May and was told all my life that my "terminal" hair length was at my bra strap. I have cried every time my hair has been cut to my shoulders. I don't know what to do with short hair! My husband finally convinced me to just let it grow and see what happens. We met 7 years ago and I started this journey about 4 years ago I suppose. I have used some of these techniques intermittently, and my hair is now between mid back and waist length at the shortest layer and waist and hip length at the longest point. I'm curious to see how using them consistently will work... who knows? Maybe by the time I'm 60 it will be floor length and I can blow all of those myths out of the water!

I'll give the sage a try. I have rosemary oil I've used several times on my scalp and argan oil for the length. Just growing out a longer bob. Now I want to use the clay. I've certainly noticed a healthier feel, not so dry. Not so much hair in the boar brush. A plastic scalp massager came with the rosemary oil. This has been great because my scalp can get dry and itch. In winter it's worse and I would use a comb or stiff bristle brush. @@christineribone9351

I've incorporated several of your wonderful techniques to include Scalp Hero massager (it's awesome!), rhassoul clay hair washing, vinegar rinse, and a silica mineral tea (and I also use it as a face toner and hair rinse), silk pillowcase, and MSM supplementation which I also use in the mineral tea when rinsing with it. WHEW! I didn't realize how of your techniques I've incorporated. I need to order ingredients for the hair oil treatment. Also, I noticed you didn't include in this video the Immune/Mineral Tea. Btw, I have more hair coming in. So excited. TY so much! ❤

What I love most about this whole hair adventure is how much more my hair is my OWN now. I've come to the belief now that what I grew up with was essentially a man's haircare, meant only for short hair! And all those 57 years I was LONGING for those flowing, expressive manes... I didn't think that I was destroying my hair, roughly brushing it while it was wet etc. I'm one year in!!! Using Shikakai instead of clay myself. Once a week. Boar bristle brush a bit more often in the second half. Hair oil often but not every week, coconut oil just a smidge if it's a bit dry. I've got twice the volume of hair than in January 2023 and I love it🌸💖!!

I saw your first video on hair care roughly a year ago and immediately ordered some rhassoul clay. I wish I took more photos of myself to document the amazing transformation. My hair texture is the same as yours. It was down to my butt as a child, but I cut it to my shoulders around age 12 and it never grew long again! The longest it ever grew was maybe mid-back but the length was always thin and uneven. I was resolved to thinking my hair was just naturally dry, brittle, and unmanageable. My hair is curly like yours also, so I too sported the crunchy wet look and tried every mousse and gel available. I discovered the flatiron in high school, and subsequently fried it for the next decade. I discovered clip-in extensions in my 20's and wore those for the next decade. Altogether, I had hair woes for 30 years, subtracting the first 5 years of life when I didnt care. In the past year since I saw your video, my hair has grown from shoulder length to slightly below my natural WAIST! I was amazed at how manageable my hair was even the first time using clay. I could immediately feel and see the difference in texture. I've continued to use rhassoul clay, ACV, conditioner, and jojoba oil for some extra shine, and wash it every 10 to 14 days. My hair is not only long, but thick, shiny, and heavy. It requires ZERO styling products. I've shared your video with so many people. I could never adequately express my gratitude! 🙏 ❤

I tried your clay wash and I had trouble getting it out so I’ll stick to my Castile soap wash as my hair is healthy, shiny, and soft. Edited to add, I’m in on the challenge except for the clay wash. Fun Fact, Rhassoul comes from the Arabic word Ghusl which is "To Purify yourself" in the context of Islam Ghusl is the full head to toe cleansing Muslims do with water at different times. So with that in mind "Ghusl clay" translates to "Washing/Cleansing/Purifying clay"

I coincidentally started trying out the clay wash, acv rinse and brushing with a BBB to prolong the time between washes! The rhassoul clay I bought says on the package that the rhassoul powder can be used as a dry shampoo to absorb excess oils too! So I've been using that on my roots if they're looking too oily after brushing. I have extremely fine hair and so far noticed that my waves/curls shape themselves and stay in shape longer. And my hair feels thicker/courser and just stronger in general. I also started sleeping in a bonnet and not using elastics or pins in my hair. Hair sticks and ribbons is where it's at for me!

The overall health, shine and length of my hair is unreal. I NEVER received compliments on my hair until the last year. Best of all, this has been so much fun and a welcome routine. For those who are afraid of no poo, consider a few tiny drops of castile liquid soap with the aloe juice and water. I personally use a tiny bit of baking soda with water for my poo. It's what's best for me. Trust yourself and go for it. Katherine's advice is sound, proven, low cost, etc. Most of all, make it an adventure!

As of December 3rd (2023), I have been doing most, but not all of your hair tips/routines. I threw out all my hair ties and bought hair pins, side combs, and hair sticks. I have also been wadhing my hair with clay ever since and alternating betwren fenugreek and flaxseed. I have been using a satin hair sleep bonnet since July 2023 and I love it. I have been washing my hair once a week fof 14 years now. I can honestly say, that since ive incorporated several of your tips/routines, my hair has gotten so much thicker. And doesnt feel thin anymore. It reminds me of what my hair used to feel like in my 20's and 30's. My hair is dow. To my tailbone, but my lifelong goal is to have it reach my knees...or longer. @@asukamai87 The way clay cleans hair is by electrochemically binding to the molecules of oil and dirt on the hair/skin. Adding something acidic like ACV might be affecting that reaction. Modern shampoos combine the cleansing and softening steps of cleaning your hair, but clay will only do the cleansing step. Rinsing it out and then doing a separate ACV rinse (one option for the softening step) might work better for you. It also might help to do some kind of moisturizing treatment on your hair if it's stiff because it's dry.

Yes chronic lyme is so hard on our bodies. Lyme causes stress so we stress out more, its a vicious cycle. We need to find ways to be calm. For me I need to assess my situation. That is is my anxiety do to a circumstance or dehydration. Usually it is caused by dehydration. With Lyme it is hard to stay hydrated. So find a good source of electrolytes to see if that helps. Above all my faith in my Saviour Yahusha gets me through. I hope that you find a way to find peace so you can heal.🙏🙏

I’m in!! I have been watching your videos and slowly rolling into historical hair care full time with an occasional switch back. I have fine, light colored, wavy, leans to the oily side type of hair, but this hair care is doing the trick! So excited for this journey! Maybe this will do the trick and I’ll never look back 😊

I have loved watching your posts about hair growth, I found you at a time when my hair was falling out rapidly, I haven't done all of the hair care regime, but I am more aware of how to handle my hair, which is not falling out anymore, and is growing well, it is healthy and I am up for trying more of the hair care routine that you have put together. I will be taking a picture on the 31st and will look forward to seeing the progress. 🥰

I implemented a few techniques right away after finding your videos a month and a half ago. I completely changed my entire hair care routine and the results have been amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I haven't tried the clay wash so I will try that as my challenge in February! I might make my own oil but initially I went with the Curly Proverbs oil because it was already mixed for me. Baby steps!

Curly hair / shoulder length, stopped washing with shampoo and conditioner about a month ago and purchased supplies for the clay wash and homemade hair old. Started using a boar bristle brush and already my hair feels healthier and softer. Loving the protective hairstyles as well. Thank you for putting together the challenge and all the helpful videos🌿

I started this challenge last week before I knew about it! Lol.... Just getting into this type of hair care and have been binging these videos, so I'm looking forward to trying something new. I have been washing my hair once a week for about 18 years. I also have medium-thin, graying, somewhat wavy hair that is shoulder length and has not been growing very fast. I also struggle with itchy scalp. I've tried different things as my "shampoo" through the years with varying results, including ayurvedic herbs, shampoo bars, vinegar, and Castile soap. I also dye my gray hair regularly with henna. My hair doesn't get that oily because it's not used to being washed all the time, but it does look more dull than I'd like. I'm hoping that sleeping on my new silk pillowcase, using a boar bristle brush, talking msm, using hair oil, and clay washing will help. I'll definitely keep up with these steps throughout the next month. Thank you for this timely video, Katherine!

I will definitely be taking a few of your tips and incorporating it into my current routine! Thanks for mentioning the massaging and satin head wrap for at night!! I know that will help my hair so much! I am most likely going to purchase a boar bristle brush. Though I do currently use a vintage hair brush I found in an antique store. I use an egg to wash my hair every 7-10 days. I already apply sweet almond oil after a shower because the egg drys my hair out a little. I love rinsing my hair in rosewater! (Rose tea, technically).

Well, I discovered your channel 1 week and a half ago and tried your routine for the 1st time 5 days ago. I am going to copy paste my comment so it will be easier for me to find it and update it. "01/14 : I tried this routine for the 1st time and OMG, my hair looks amazing!!! I have curly hair (3b, 3c) and my curls are really defined and shiny for cheap (my normal routine costs 176€ vs 37€ here without counting the cost of tools). Let's see how it goes in the long term, I hope to see growth. I did pre-poo with coconut oil, dry detangled with my hands, did 4 braids (even though my hair is way shorter), washed with rhassoul (I let it sit for 3 minutes), rinced with ACV that I let in my hair (I used to rince with ACV a few years ago so my hair is used to it), then I styled it with my denman brush and flaxseed gel (I put some hibiscus in it for the color), let my hair dry first with my diffuseur in cold air then naturally and I finished with broccoli oil (known for being light on the hair and is anti frizz). I don't know how long it will lasts, I hope it will stay that way for at least 3 days then I will do protective hairstyle. I hope I will remember this comment to do an update for 1st month 3rd month, 6th month and 1st year." 01/19 :I can already say 5 days later that my hair lasted 3 days like I wanted, then I did protective hairstyles using my flaxseed gel, broccoli oil and my boar bristle brush (already had one). I will do my 2nd wash in 2 days.

I’m in! I started on no shampoo recently and came across this channel. I’ve got super fine, stick-straight hair. That makes things like detangling and combing easy peasy, but other things are challenging. Any amount of oil makes my hair look like wet spaghetti. My scalp isn’t oily but that makes my ends dry. I can’t do some of the funner protective styles, because I just don’t have enough hair. I can’t use scrunchies or most hair sticks or pins; they fall out. But I’m learning to just embrace the claw clip during the day and a couple of braids at night. I’m also growing out a little fringe bang I’ve had for ten years and it’s making me deeply uncomfortable 😅 BUT that will give me a great way to assess a month’s worth of growth! So far I’ve already reduced washing to once a week; if I don’t use any oils I can wash with no-poo methods, but the oils for sealing ends or the herbal oil (which I made and used for the first time today) definitely require more. I’ll order some clay and see if that works but I’m a bit skeptical given how fine my hair is. We’ll see!
