I recently bought the YardMax 2860 mower, and it is TERRIBLE. I returned the YardMax mower because the Front Wheel Drive is INSANE. The wheels go crazy the moment they touch the ground. Also, the engine claims it is powerful with 201cc, but that is simply not the case. Also, the engine was brand new and took two pulls to start the first time. But after a half hour of using the mower, it took EIGHT PULLS to start the mower. The mower was "Locked" at times with the pulls. And the "speed" of the mower was slow, even on its highest setting it wasn't as fast as the Cub Cadet mower. Also, the YardMax mower could NOT be pulled backwards. The black rubber thing at the bottom in back got tangled up in the mower and you were dragging the entire mower without help from the wheels.
MTD can make a really good mower. I have an MTD made Snapper FWD I bought new in 2012 and it's been good. Still using it but I take really good care of it. I change the oil twice a year and air filter once a year. WalMart has the Briggs 30 oil for 9 bucks or so per 1.5 quart container.
Bought this machine last month and absolutely love it!!! You have two throttle handles to use at same time or use right or left. If you don't want to go full speed then just don't squeeze the throttle all the way. Very simple. Love, Love,Love this mower.
Got mine today.. Reading all of the neg reviews about this mower had me worried.. But after taking it out the box and adding oil and fuel, she ran and cut like a dream!! 1 cut down, hopefully it continue to run and cut good! My old mower which still works great is a 140cc and i can tell the difference!
Lemme tell ya something. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING CALLED YARDMAX! Chinese junk! I bought a ‘22 around 5-15-23 and used it only about 5-6 times. It is made with extremely cheap components. The plastic knobs for closing and locking the handle broke off. The height adjustment broke off. The front wheel broke as I was using it and the axle came out off place. The plastic for the undercarriage cracked in two requiring its complete removal. That cover the belt and pulleys for the self propel assembly. Needles to say, that can no longer by used. Surprising no engine issues (yet) and it will cut serious grass-provided you have patching up skills. THIS POS IS CHEAP FOR A REASON AND YOU WILL GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!
Well I tell ya, you've got to test these things out before you buy them, I whipped my pecker out and I slapped it up against the engine. Then I slapped my pecker up against the handlebars and the plastic adjusting knobs. Then I slapped my pecker up against the mower deck, and the mower held up just fine , The only problem I had Is when I Started the mower up and put my pecker up under the deck to test the blade out, my pecker bent and dulled the crap out of that blade.

Isn't the cord supposed to go through eyelet on bars so you can hold the safety shut off down while pull starting it? Not sure how you hold safety bar while pulling it from at the motor.
Planning on getting my cb hooked up soon I’m in North Columbus area towards Westerville/Polaris. Is there still a lot of chatter in this area? Any channels I should focus on?
