This was great to watch through! I believe that this timeline you made is definitely the most believable, and fixes some issues that the original had. Keep up the good work!
You went back in time to before Impa left to fetch Zelda at the start of her mission. The doors were closed because Zelda had never gotten there yet. So the doors were never opened because there was no point to enter the room at that time.
There are a few issues with placing the Oracles in between ALTTP and Link’s Awakening. First, Zelda does not remember Link and they seemingly meet for the first time. Perhaps Link’s wish to bring everything back to normal at the end of ALTTP erases their memory? IDK. But another thing is, Link seemingly grows up over the course of the Oracle games because (and this is another reason why Ages has to be before Seasons) the Gorons refer to Link as a boy in Ages, but you also help a family raise a baby to adulthood over the course of the two games, so by the end of Seasons, Link’s an adult. But, is Link an adult in Link’s Awakening, or are there references to him being a child? And Link’s Awakening *has* to be a sequel to ALTTP. I think this issue among others might be why they swapped the order of the two in the more recent timelines.
@@Supasmartguy the way I could see it happen is Ganondorf's hatred and grudge being exorcised from him somehow, and that energy being reborn into Demise, as Ganondorf is the incarnation of Demise's Hatred and Grudge. Then, Link, Zelda and Ganondorf would face off against Demise in a final confrontation to end the cycle for good. It would mirror skyward sword with Link, Zelda and Groose (possibly the ancestor of the Gerudo) This feels like a series end scenario though, so I doubt they'll do that ever, unless they planned on moving forward with Ganondorf not being the villain anymore and allowing new Gerudo men to be born into their tribe, with new villains emerging.
I'm of the belief that the calamity timeline are a wholey seperate timeline that parallels the existing ones. While the era of myth still exists, in thos branch they are wholey and truly stories. And while it's a bit of a mess, i buy in that there is a split off of skyward sword, where Demise is defeated in the past so the future decendants won't need to happen, and then that timeline parallels the others. Namely because i believe in the "one ganondorf" idea. That Ganondorf only appears in a timeline a single time and never again. It would help to explain why the calamity timeline is similar to but so different from any other timeline. It is just a totally different history of events. Frankly i'd write hyrule warriors (original) as a pocket reality that caused all timelines to know about each other, while not actually existing within any specific branch. It's the ultimate explanation for allowing all timelines to. Ot be relagated to a sorta pseudo "noncanon" territory of them being exclusively myths and nothing else. I'd be fine woth them just having the old continuity and new as divided, as i would with the 2D timeline and 3D timeline. But that's a personal belief that works better for clean storytelling rather than a massive narrative.
Great video as always ZL, really appreciate this one since I don't have to do any translating lol. That cloud reference is quite interesting, maybe they are just talking about being near clouds on top of one or both of the mountains... or maybe we will have a cloud section in the top right corner of the map like in Minish Cap! That would be cool. Does seem like the very top right corner might have an area that hasn't been shown yet
This games gonna be trash that no one asked for. Here's the future of zelda everyone: Hoverbikes, Ultrahanding chairs, inside chibi engines noone liked. At least this one's not $70.... ...yet
My two cents about the lanmola/Ranemora; My interpretation was "land moray" (eel). edit: Patra; paternality? Since he's surrounded by what i suppose is his babies.
"Zora" is actually the feminine form of the Spanish word for "fox," but unless that's a sarcastic dig at their looks, I have no idea what the connection could be. As for "Patra," my best guess is that it's related to the Latin 'pater,' or 'father.' It wouldn't be a stretch to assume those little minions are offspring, since they look just like smaller versions of their commander. It could even be a simple contraction of 'patriarch.'
Pols Voice are not defeated by the flute/recorder. It has no effect on them. They are defeated by making sound into the microphone that is available in the Japanese version of the controller. There's no way to do this with the Western versions of the game.
So in the original, monsters guard pieces of the triforce hidden by Zelda. Does that mean those monsters are beholden to Zelda rather than Gannon? If not, why aren't they taking the pieces to Gannon, or at least giving him the locations?
@@samhook8109 they are Ganon's minions, but it's never explained. They are looking for the Triforce pieces, yes, but may not have the means to reach it. The door to the Triforce chamber does not open until the bosses are defeated, so it could be a measure created by Zelda to prevent monsters from reaching the Triforce, a "door that no monster may open" sort of thing. All we can do is speculate.
Wouldn't "Hito Dama" be translated as "Person's Ball" instead of "Person's Soul"? because i know sometimes "Tamashi" can be shortened to "Tama", meanwhile i'm pretty sure "Dama" is the word for "ball". As in japanese folklore a person's soul is described to be a small white ball located deep within a person's anus. (not joking.) its called a "Shirikodama" (Anus/Butt Ball) Then again i suppose that "Dama" and "Tama" could also be synonyms but i'm not sure.
I've played Clu Clu Land with my big sister for hours on end. I've never seen a huge version of the monster appear. And we advanced well into the stages.
If I were to guess, it would be that Zelda (or the companion) can only maintain up to three charges worth of summons, indicated by the companion's tail of three similar looking triangles. The more charges a borrowed thing costs, the fewer things that can be created.
Not to sound negative but i feel like this videos title is misleading. I was watching to try and get a breakdown of the various Zelda mobs **in universe** lore and relevance for each game they appear in. While it is touched on, it feels like most of this video is going more on their Japanese etymology and real world inspirations and references and cause of that i feel a bit mislead by the title. All in all I feel like the video title should be "The etymology and inspiration behind Zelda 1s monsters" since lore implies you would be giving most of the attention to the in universe lore of them.
