Burgess Meredith absolutely brilliant in this. Quite overlooked but a massive part of the franchise and I couldn't imagine anyone else playing that part.
22:33. So, this is something I went through in 1973. I had a club foot when I was born, and the next day they did an experimental surgery on my ankle. It worked, although it’s super small and other problems, I don’t walk with a terrible limp. However, they didn’t understand care of a new born too good, cuz, like Rocky and Adrians kid, I was in a plastic box for weeks, instead of close touch of the mother, which we know now is important. Autism wasn’t a word when I was a kid. There is a hell of a lot more that goes into that story, but, what I was trying to say, is the bizarre fact that they didn’t have that kid with his comatose mom from day one means, the kid is fucked! I know it’s a story that didn’t happen, but parts of it happened to some people, and they are still fucked up from that happening.🌿🌸
FYI: This has been 'cleaned up' multiple times. At the theaters in 1977, I watched it 4 times. There was only one quick scene with a star destroyer where I noticed the pixilation around the star destroyer. It lasted less than half a second, but yes, the SFX was incredible for the time! I was 14 at the time and had 50 dollars cause of my birthday. Wasn't till the end of the month when this came out and in Seattle all there was: "Star Wars" nothing, absolutely nothing on the story. Wasn't till days before the opening on Wednesday that they had the actual movie poster! Yeah! I want to see this and I thought: A war in the stars! @MillieMochiTV Excellent! Excellent! A bit more emotion in YT cuts but excellent 'attention' to the movie!!! This tells 'us' that you're enjoying the movie!
True story - When Carl Weathers first auditioned for the part of Apollo Creed, he didn't know who Sylvester Stallone was. He thought he was some lowly set worker and complained that, "I can give a much better audition if you get a real actor for me to read against." :^) Stallone thought the arrogance and humor was perfect for the Apollo Creed role... (Maybe you know this part), Stallone has stated that Rocky isn't a boxing movie, it's a love story.
What a great reaction Millie! And did you ever think a movie about boxing would make you cry? Lol, me either, and I still tear up at the end of ROCKY 1. I'm definitely looking forward to your reaction to ROCKY III. Thank you for sharing another awesome film with us! 🎥🍿😊
I've been watching Millie's music videos for a couple of years now, but just came across this channel yesterday. I must say what a refreshing change she has been in the 5 or 6 movie reactions I've seen. Imagine; a reactor who actually pays attention to the movie and it's dialogue rather that just looking for opportunities to try to be entertaining or offer their wisdom to their audience. I didn't think I would do this again, but I'm going straight from the Comment button to the Subscribe button.
I'd love to see you react to *_HIGHLANDER_* (1986)🗡 Between the awesomeness of the movie itself, the *GREAT* soundtrack by Queen, the swordfighting(which includes one of the most exquisitely beautiful katanas ever made), the similar plot points and archetypes seen in Star Wars, and the top-tier performances(especially by Sean Connery & Clancy Brown), I am positive that you'll LOVE it!👍
Good one, Millie! So glad you are enjoying these movies. My personal favorite of all of them is the last one, #6 called Balboa. I'll be watching along with you as you work your way through them. Thanks for sharing this one. 🙂
I like you, your Videos and your cute Headphones! My Game Charakter in PUBG has the same Headphones with the same color....😏 I'm really glad that our young Generation watches 'old' Movies from the 70's, 80's and 90's!
don't worry too much about the time-travel element of the story. think of it as the "one weird trick" by the writers to allow themselves the freedom to use the original 1966 characters in a new alternate story-verse without being committed to the events from the original tv series, spin-offs and movies before it, which all happened in the same narrative universe. it's a reboot with a clean break.
Millie, I think you'll love all of the Rocky movies. When you get done with these, consider The Karate Kid franchise, including "Cobra Kai" which is a GREAT series on Netflix. Great reaction!
Stallone was good at giving Adrian these dramatic moments where she says something to inspire Rocky and change the course of his life for the better. As people have said a million times, Rocky is a love story at its core.
Bud had the shotgun shells filled with Rock Salt instead of Buck Shot (steel BBs). Painful but not lethal. Pai Mei is played by Martial Arts Legend Gordon Liu. He also played the leader of the Crazy 88's, Johnny Mo (Bald Head and Kato Mask). Another Actor who played 2 roles was Michael Parks who played the Texas Ranger with all the sunglasses in his Patrol Car in Part 1 and the Pimp Estaban in Part 2.
