@@Tech4YourNeeds It’s very nice for the price and I figured something like this should cost at least twice as much. I know that the fast chargers can cost $150 or more and it’s not like those are putting out that much more wattage. The build of this charger for being $34.99 is surprisingly good. I would have bought one if they hadn’t offered to send me one. I use it every night and never thought I would, but one charging cable, taking up one outlet and not having to hunt for chargers is such a nice thing.
@@ronguido916 I never thought I’d use one much. But, then I was looking and saw the price and realized it was something I could recommend to anyone without it costing $150 like some other brands. It’s affordable and something I would have bought even if they hadn’t sent me a review unit. I use it all the time, since it’s so convenient not to have to have 3 different charging cables and pucks and clutter up my night stand and take up 3 outlets.
@@SavageScientist I've been happy with the stuff I have gotten from them so far. Quality built products and not outrageously expensive like some companies.
It’s very nice. I’m surprised that they used such good quality leather and metal for the price. Usually you have to look at something that cost twice as much or more.
I’ve been really having fun making content and expanding being just devices, but into accessories as well. There will be more to come. As the new iPhones become available, I’ll have plenty of cases for the 16 Pro Max to review as well as other accessories. I have some cases from some companies I hadn’t heard of or worked with before, so that should be interesting. It’s a journey and I am just glad to be able to share the joy of it, through the use of video, to you all.
It's quite thin so it's not going to keep heat from escaping or insulate or isolate. It is going to let the heat dissipate naturally. Thanks for watching and commenting! I hope I was able to provide a helpful answer.
@@Sebilion12 I haven’t used the Honor Magic 6 Pro. It looks like a solid device and the cameras look like they can take some great photos. From the examples I’ve seen, the telephoto camera is exceptional and low light performance is decent. The only thing I don’t know is how well it will work here in the US as far as with the bands it has. I know it would work on T-Mobile, but it’s not going to have all of the bands like the OnePlus 12 does. I’ve never used a recent Honor device to know about updates and how well they keep up with them and for how long. Then, there are things like bloatware and how well does it work with other devices and availability of a compatible smartwatch and tablet. I wish we had easy access to be able to try it out and be able to make a comparison so I could answer that question for you. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I'm excited for the 13, as well. I can't imagine what they'd do to make it any better than the 12. I think most of the things I'd like to see are strictly software limitations. Give me a desktop mode with video out over USB C and it would have just about everything the competition has. Apart from that, most other phones don't really have anything that the OnePlus 12 doesn't match or beat. Just as was the case with the 12, I won't be getting the 13 when it drops but a few months or so later.
@@ThroughJermainesLens I wanted to get the green, since I’d had the black 11, but the black one was the only color available without waiting a while. I ordered it on Amazon.
@ThroughJermainesLens I remember that. I do wish they’d gone with a little more grippy back with the 12. Even though it has a matte finish, it’s still quite slippery.
I guess that’s not too bad. The 512gb would be $799 plus taxes MSRP. So, that would be $847, where I live. Would be $902.87 in some states with higher sales taxes. I know pricing is going to be different outside the US with some countries having really high import fees and taxes on devices. That tends to be the way it is with all devices in those countries. I do find it interesting when some companies charger $799 USD but also 799 Euros, since the dollar and euro have different values. I would say that I think the OnePlus 12 is still a really good value in most countries.
@@ngargs I think phones could use a price cut, from many companies, in general. It’s even crazier when you consider that a Z Flip cost is about $430 and Z Fold is about $650, but they charger $999 for the Flip and $1799 for the Fold, starting prices. I’m concerned with next year as the cost of the 8gen4 is supposed to be pretty high compared to current and previous versions and that’s just for the processor.
Thanks! I love just talking to my community, my viewers, my tech family. I sit down and it is like having a conversation and thinking of what the other person would want to know. I love doing what I do.
@@jimmyfiredragon8582 It’s been wonderful being back. I was there but “I” was gone. I feel like I am being me and it’s been incredible. The feedback from you and others has been encouraging. I’m seeing new faces and new comments. I decided to change things up a bit with my channel, which is sort of like starting over. That was nerve wracking, but it’s been great knowing that people are enjoying the new stuff. Trying to figure out what RU-vid will push is basically impossible, so I just make videos I enjoy making and would want to watch and put them up here. I think so many people overthink it and end up not posting and overwhelmed.
@@MichaelPepperTech Yeah it's been great having you back man ! 😅💯💯💯 Yeah it was quite nerve racking for me when I went onto Sam and Joe's podcast recently (but thankfully it got easier and wasn't as bad as it went on ) (hope that wasn't TMI so sorry If It was ) Glad To hear my comments etc have been encouraging ! Hope my " first ! " Comments haven't been super SUPER Annoying ! Yeah The RU-vid algorithm can be quite annoying and frustrating at times with pushing smaller channels like yours at times Annoyingly .. Yeah I think I remember overthinking it when I was about to go onto Sam and Joe's Nomad Tech Project A few weeks ago now and thinking it was going to get less views on it cause I was on it etc or other reasons. Hope your mental health isn't too bad mate ! :)
@@jimmyfiredragon8582 I understand how nerve wracking it can be going on a live stream. I’ve been on a lot of them and used to do creator interviews and every single one is still a bit stressful. It does get easier as you get to know people and understand yourself more too. I get a kick out of the “first” comments. My mental health has gotten a lot better. That’s a topic I plan to cover soon. The ways technology can help but being cautious to not let technology become a substitute and make things worse.
I’m not sure if that’s supposed to be a compliment. I take my time and am not in a hurry to rush but don’t want you to be bored either. I think you’d like OnePlus. I went from the Samsung ecosystem to OnePlus for my Android side of things. I main Apple because of Apps that I use for content creation and export times, but that has changed a bit too. I think you’d like the OnePlus experience, unless you use DEX a lot. I’m awaiting either the OnePlus 13 or Open 2 next year when that drops. The Open should drop in price and still be a solid option. I will say video out is missing and that could be a dealbreaker for some people. I use chromecast or screen mirroring to my TV or monitor and that helps. It’s a little different if you’re used to Samsung’s software. It depends on if you’re used to certain things and can adjust to OnePlus’s software and way of doing things. They have the Smart Sidebar as Edge Panel substitute and support the taskbar on the Open and Pad. Some apps still are stuck in portrait orientation and will open sideways on the tablet. I will make sure to cover that stuff in my OnePlus Pad review. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@MichaelPepperTech Definitely a compliment! You have very high quality audio and video I really enjoy your content. Thank you for the insight I’ll try it all out. Thank you again.
@@benjaminthorpe3380 It's comments like this that inspire me to continue to make content. Not long ago the video and audio quality wasn't quite as good. I really can't express how much I appreciate your kind words.
@@Tech4YourNeeds Samsung stopped supporting iOS a couple years ago. The same for the watch. Probably because most people were just using Airpods and the Apple Watch.
Thanks! I decided I should review some things I haven't reviewed yet and even if they've been out for a while, I know some people will be looking for videos about them.
It has grip material on the sides. It's not slippery like some of the rubbery cases can be, though. It provides a nice bumper and protects from most drops. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@benjaminthorpe3380 I know some people who are using ChatGPT to write code. That's concerning too because how do we know they aren't hiding something in the code. They could hide a back door to send information to them. Oversight by people is necessary and there should be something required to scan through the code and make sure nothing fishy is going on. It's concerning when people who don't know enough use AI to replace things people can do and don't even consider the issues it could introduce.
@tomszan It’s not very slippery. If your hands are damp, it might be a little slippery, but I’ve had oils from chips or greasy fingers from eating chicken, on my fingers and held on to it just fine. The sides have a dotted texture, which helps a bit. The back also had a dotted texture. I like that it’s not got super sharp corners so it’s fairly comfortable to hold. Keep in mind it’s not going to protect from super high drops. I have dropped my phone at few times on our carpeted and vinyl flooring and it’s been fine. This case is designed more for scratch protection and for drops on not super hard surfaces. I am happy to say that it’s not difficult to take off or put on. I would suggest a screen protector if you’re going to use it out and about in areas where you might drop your phone on harder surfaces or have another more rugged case. I have another case that I’ll be reviewing soon that I swap to, when out and about.
@@MichaelPepperTech Thank you very much for the satisfactory answer!🙏🏼 Yes, I am aware of all of these! I have another full protection case, but this one really appealed to me! So I will be able to use it alternately in different situations! 🫡
@tomszan I think that you’ll enjoy it. I’m actually using it now. I swapped it out for the weekend as we were gone camping. I like that I was able to still use the MagSafe Ring since it’s Magnetic. Let me know what you think, once you get yours.
I agree with you. What happens if the service you are using isn't working and you need to deliver the project at certain times? You are going to lose because you don't have the skills to create it from scratch.
Yes! When everything relies on data connection, that connection becomes just another service that you’re tied to. I like to relate these things as instead of them being a belt, for which supports you and carries your tools, it becomes the noose by which your craft can die; Turning your tools into a weapon against you, in the most crucial times.
@@jimmyfiredragon8582 Thanks! I got an email from them making me aware of this feature and just had to share it. I was just using the ring as a hand hold. This is way much more comfortable and secure. Thanks for watching and commenting! Your support means a lot.

Very well said. I really do not like badmouthing people or products. Now I will tell you that something isn't great and I have said this about various brands.
@@ReviewsforNerds Thanks! 🙏 It’s one thing to be critical and another thing to be degrading to the people who choose to buy a certain product or from a certain brand. The generalizations about users from each company aren’t necessary. We are supposed to be talking about the technology and use cases not the people who use them. We can reference the professions of those who might benefit the most from the product and how, but belittling or insulting isn’t productive. Very well well said bro. Watching ur channel, it shows how a video on a particular device or subject should be done. Puttin others down and shittin on a company is very distasteful and only shows the ignorance of the people and or person true personality. To much negativity in this world the way it is. @@traviskirkendall4410 Thanks, bro! I try to stay as positive as I can with everything I do. There’s a fine balance between being overly positive and willingness to be critical of products and companies. Some people take it personally when you criticize their favorite company, like it’s a direct attack on them. It says a lot about societal attachment to inanimate objects.
@@ngargs I don’t understand why creators choose to do that. It benefits nobody and adds no value. I would have to guess that it’s some sort of self confidence issue the creator has and their ego won’t allow that. For me, I maybe joke and tease other creators and people, but never about their choice of devices and in a way that siblings may pick on each other. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@michaelcorcoran8768 It seems to be what some people want and all they know to play off. It’s easier than making useful content, for some people, apparently. I find it distasteful.
@@Tech4YourNeeds Exactly! I know when Apple first released their M1 Macs, some software wasn’t compatible, it developers had their opportunities with the Mac Mini Dev kits to make their software work. Most of the common software did work and companies like Adobe and Black Magic (Davinci Resolve) got their applications ready. It was some audio editing software that didn’t work right away but it was stuff that wasn’t the commonly used software. They didn’t release the hardware and advertise it for certain things and have the software not ready. On the other hand, there were demos for video editing and photo editing and some gaming on the Snapdragon chips, but that stuff wasn’t ready and seems like still isn’t fully hashed out. I’d say wait 6 months and maybe by the time they’re working on the second generation of chips for next year, developers will have their software ready. With all of the big names they showed off on stage, you’d have thought they would have been working with them and software developers to make sure the major softwares for video and photo editing were ready.
Cannot find any setting to disable direct talk in watch over call. Any idea how to disable? I want to pick up calls over watch, but not to talk over watch.
I'm not sure that is possible. The closest I could think of would be to have earbuds paired to the phone and pickup on the watch and then choose the earbuds as the source. Why would want to be able to pick up on the watch, but not talk over it? I'd need a little more information to provide a possible solution.
@@MichaelPepperTech i had fossil gen 5. I used to click button on watch to pick up call. Later I would talk over phone. That is convenient as it helps to not delay the call or get disconnected. Well if this is the case, then I will have to get used to it, soon. Thanks for replying.
@mohitshah4159 I see. Any smartwatch I’ve used would let you pick up on the watch but then you could grab your phone and continue from there but I haven’t known any watch to let you pickup and have it pickup on the phone. You can transfer to the phone or earbuds. It makes sense because the watch is seen like a headset by the phone and audio is routed like a headset would receive from the phone. It takes some adjustment but once you’ve adapted, it’s pretty simple.
@@MichaelPepperTech yes hopefully. Thanks for the info. It took me a whole day to search for setting on how to disable it😂 as i was accustomed to the fossil way of attending call.
As far as I know, there isn’t a way to do that. You can do raise to wake when you get a vibration or ping that you’ve got a notification and when you raise and look at the watch, the notification will be there. But, there isn’t an option like with the AOD on a phone, where incoming notifications will wake up the screen. Maybe, that something that can come in an update if enough people request it.
That is true. Where are they now? I know they’re still around but they’ve basically turned to cloud infrastructure and IT research. I bet most people wouldn’t even know that they’re still around. They kind of went the way of HTC and got bought of their hardware. The point of this video was that Apple didn’t just start with AI and it’s existed in their tech for decades. I hope more people can be educated by this. Thanks for watching and commenting and sparking a little research on IBM. 😊
@@michaelcorcoran8768 I enjoy their technology and they’ve been around for a while. I find their history fascinating and it shows us where a lot of their current tech derives from. I enjoy my OnePlus and other brands of technology, as well. If the tech is good, I’ll say so and if it has issues, I’ll make those videos as well. It just happens to be that I’ve had more issues with some brands and none with others.
There’s a current trade in offer for one of their Fold phones. What I can’t believe is they are willing to accept my iPhone XR for $400. This is just based on their website.
@@lhzsdgsfbvv The Garmin watches are really nice. If I just wanted the exercise and heart rate tracking, that's what I'd go for, as well. I know some people who wear two watches, a Garmin and Apple Watch. Garmin for the battery life and accuracy and Apple Watch for notifications, replies and other features that the Garmin doesn't have. Which Garmin did you go with?
@@MichaelPepperTechThe FR965 is the Garmin for me. It has the bigger screen/smaller bezel compared to an Epix2 and better battery while having a lower height. Functions are similar. The lack of Saphire glass like the AWU has I mitigate with a high end screen protector. Sports tracking on the AWU2 is as good or better than Garmin. But the strength of Garmin is the whole body and recovery approach. Apple is trying to catch up on that but was fragmented with sports support and behind when I sold mine.
I just went from Garmin to Apple myself. Garmin is dope. But it doesn’t gave a good sos feature. It sends a text to someone with your location. It doesn’t call 911. I gave heart issues and I really need a call the ambulance machine. So Apple Watch it is. Fun times haha.
@@spyhunter6411 I understand that all too well. I have health issues so I need something in case I pass out or fall and it can call for me. On the other hand, I get that for some people they might prefer something that just sends a message to their emergency contact. I remember when I had a Galaxy S3 Frontier and I accidentally triggered the emergency function and it sent texts to my mom, dad and my wife. My wife came running out to see if I was okay and my dad called me. I had no idea it had happened. I was just out mowing and apparently my gloves pushed up against the buttons. I ended up talking to my dad from the watch while mowing. I was glad it didn’t also call 911. I wish that the Apple Watch had an option to just message your emergency contact for those who might have certain health issues that don’t always require emergency services. I have panic attacks and sometimes it would be nice to just be able to have a way to quickly contact my emergency contacts without calling 911.
I would use Samsung trade in only when there's a Guarantee trade-in offer in any condition too much horror stories . I got 1000$ for my fold 3 that i paid 1150$ two years ago andgot 300 for my galaxy watch 4 44 that i paid 278$ for it two years ago.
