I found Fall Guy boring as shit. I don't like movies with substantial romance components and not many guys I know do. After seeing some guy grovel on his knees to the satisfaction of a girl boss, for 45 minutes, I'd had enough. I just didn't care about the story or the characters that much. It didn't hold my interest. I realized, the reason why House of the Dragon is so insanely good is because the characters are so active, always driving the plot forward and in a way that's always creating tension. (ok, it's got a lot more going for it than just that, but that's hugely important). Fall Guy, like so many other uninteresting movies (who are not gifted with writers who can make dialogue or character interactions sing on the page, ala Tarantino) just have a bunch of characters sitting around talking, not saying much of interest, with the assumption that I should care. If you really deconstruct the first 45 mins of Fall Guy, you're watching uninteresting people talk about their uninteresting lives (and because one is a director and the other is a stuntman doesn't mean they have interesting lives, it just means they happen to have what most consider interesting professions -- big difference).
Finally some actual criticism that isn't just "It's too woke" or "bad writing " (things can have bad writing, but it's used as a catchall for the majority just to say I didn't like it. Usually cause they are media illiterate to boot). I made a similar conclusion too. This might work better in the netflix style of dropping a whole season instead of dragging us along with this conflict like a dangling carrot we got a few tiny nibbles of. Of course, that hinges on this big ol secret being a massive pay off, so we'll see when we get there. But i can understand the general audience frustration with it.
@@CMWaters910 there is, but most of the slander I see can't form a coherent reason past those two things. And maybe Disney dug their own hole by hyping this way too much, but not every series has to be mind blowing either. Sometimes we're going to get, eh it was okay, and it doesn't automatically mean Disney ruined all of Star Wars. We got Andor, The Mandalorian, Bad Batch, the last season of clone wars, all after the reboot and it was all very good. I was excited for finally seeing some of the high republic in live action and its a shame it's getting bombed the way it is by trolls. It isn't all what I wanted either, but you lay out one issue here very well.
Season 1 and 2 of the Mandalorian was fine as was Andor. So yes they're doing what you're describing, but that isn't indicative of Disney as much as the people they have working on these shows.
@@milesharbord9339 Funny you should mention that, because my original script mentioned the Sanctuary episode of The Mandalorian. Still, I'd say those instances were lucky flukes. The fact that the rest of their shows behave more like movies can't be much of a coincidence.
Andor was really a black sheep. This show had everything you can ask for in a TV show : overall story that is a consequence of what happened in the first episode, running through multiple arcs, each with concrete threats and satisfying conclusions, decent costumes, awesome scenery, a keen eye for camera angles and geometry... Nothing we had seen for long, especially not in Star Wars. The Acolyte coming after is lackluster. Really shows that Andor was one of a kind and sadly nothing has changed in good old profit-driven Disney. Also, The Acolyte sabotaging its own plot twists by showing them to the viewers is mind-boggling. I get that they wanted to have the twins as main narrators, but Mae surviving is supposed to be a shock to Osha and Sol, shock that doesn't work because the viewers saw her right away. The Sith hanging around in the shadows isn't satisfying either, the viewers saw him early for no reason. In episode 5, Mae takes the place of Osha, which will make for an interesting surprise to Sol, only we knew about it right away so this surprise won't convey to us either.
The thing is that the tone is all over the place and msyterio's characterisation ruins the whole movie. the movie wants to show peter's grief but also be a fun holiday comedy . Also all the elementals being fake is just stupid . Why couldnt they have at least one be real . That way mysterio's manipulative side could have been 100x better than him being a discount syndrome
How can you say Pixar has *always* been the studio to deliver fresh original ideas when you have 3 Cars films plus the Planes spin-off, 4 Toy Story plus the Lightyear spin-off, 2 Nemo films, 2 Incredibles plus as you say a second Inside Out and a 5th Toy Story. Pixars 3rd film was a sequel so hardly original. Are you massively surprised Disney as an entity are milking though when between MCU and Star Wars there are 25 tv shows milking the franchises between them.

The Fall Guy failed because Ryan Gosling has never been a hit at the box office and the majority of his movie going audience is women. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga failed because a majority of its audience is men and its Ken: A Barbie Saga.

I didn't think much of it when it came out, and I'm not an MCU Spidey fan, but it really plays on the burden of power and responsibility that has plagued every version of the character. He's given the power to be the next great Super Hero and tries to pass it to someone else to avoid the responsibility that comes with it, but then learns that part of his responsibility is to have confidence in his own ability as a hero.
I'm in the middle of the video So before I finish it Allow me to say my issues with this which I consider the worst Spider Man Movie So far - The Romance... is forced, especially when it comes to MJ Because somehow they remain Stuck in the ideia of the only Spider Man Romance interest that works in Mj And this makes no sense considering The Amazing Spider Man And Homecoming Liz would have been a fresh air to us But instead they keep forcing MJ ( they can't even use his full name in their movies ) - The Villain is " created " by Tony Stark again But gets worse when he actually doesn't even have a plan He gets the glasses to what exactly - Peter's innocent is ridiculous I mean he fought against Thanos He was in the final war against Thanos He died and came back to life He loses tony Stark And he still is fool as he were a kid And I hate that stupid ideia where they try Spider Man mask off how much they can I mean I understand actors face must be seen But I think that ideia is conflicting when it comes to Spider Man Anyway Sorry for my broken English I just wanned share my thoughts

There is no way Ralph's and Vanellope's interactions in this abomination remotely keep the "movie slightly above water". A grown a$$ 30 year old man constantly obessed, needy, arrogant, and insensitive with a 9 year old girl ain't that, chief.
Short answer: Yes. The first movie was a big labor of love by its creators (not Disney, I mean the actual crew) who put tons of effort and attention to detail into it, but we're given very little of such freedom in RBTI. Rich Moore, the director of both movies, left Disney afterwards for this reason. Wreck-It Ralph is something with huge potential to be an interesting series like Toy Story became, but none of that potential got to be used after the first movie. Long answer: - The main cast (Ralph, Vanellope, Felix, and Calhoun) didn't get to interact very much or adventure together/develop their relationships. The bare minimum expectation fans understandably had was that these four would _at least_ have more moments of found-family interaction like the epilogue and credits of the first movie. - The movie throws away half of the main cast into a babysitting plot (even though Felix and Calhoun were supposed to come along on the adventure in earlier drafts), which _even then_ got cut at the last minute to make room for cameos of unrelated Disney characters so irrelevant to this movie that digital avatars of them had to be used as an excuse, since the actual characters are from fairy tales and wouldn't physically exist in this universe. - The remaining two members of the main cast had to act like an idiot (Ralph) and disregard the entire "going Turbo" conflict of the first movie (Vanellope) to make the plot work. The _idea_ isn't bad, but it's the wrong choice for these characters and this setting. - The easy solution is ignored: Vanellope could spend half her time in Sugar Rush and half in Slaughter Race, since Sugar Rush has a random roster where she wouldn't be playable every day anyway, and Slaughter Race is an online game where her presence there could be written off as a seasonal event or something. - The movie introduced around seven new characters (depending on whether you count Double Dan as two people) who largely did almost nothing. And that's just what I can think of off the top of my head. It's like Disney stole the movie from its own crew and micromanaged it into a Disney/internet commercial instead of thinking about what would be better long-term, and people hesitate to criticize it because "OMG SANIK CAMEO OMG PRINCESSES CAMEO" or something.
How was animated Zazu only loyal to a degree ? The fact that he stays with the lion family despite being treated like a joke means something , he wss also a slightly better babysitter who didnt mistake his own shadow for something else
I disagree with the Scar sending Zazu to get the pride in the remake being an improvemebt first off what if Zazu had made it back wuth aime hekp snd they saw Scar killing Mufasa? The fact that Zazy never tells anyone about Scar being in the gorge on time is a plothole the original animated one was fine with Scar knocking Zazu out frim behind , Zazu would think a flying rock did it .
Awesome! I’m looking forward to Mufasa: The Lion King as well for those reasons you mentioned as well. I saw the teaser trailer for the first time when it aired last week. I was impressed by how good it really looked. I will plan to see both Mufasa, and Sonic 3. Anyway, I’m glad we’re on the same page for this prequel.
The trailer looked already so promising and I'm just happy to see how they added more emotions to the animals. The for this movie already is so freaking undeserved. Really can't wait for it
The last "Lion King" live action remake looked terrible. There was no emotions in the animals faces. Everything was empty and soulless. What makes Disney think the second one is going to be better? I will not watch this movie. 😓💔
@@CMWaters910 For some reason, I'm also more hyped for Mufasa The Lion King than Sonic 3. Maybe because Sonic has plenty of awesome games, cartoons, comic books etc. while The Lion King is... to short. :( I have speculations that after the release of Mufasa The Lion King, Disney will start working on new The Lion King game which will be as well-made and successful as SNES and Genesis classic from 1994. I have no proof for my speculations, but I do wish this come true.
3:27 Well, the Fairy Godmother granted Cinderella’s wish to go to the ball but there were still limitations to that wish with Cinderella having a time limit, so maybe Asha wouldn’t grant the wishes of the townspeople, since she encouraged them to make their own wishes come true (though this was done somewhat flimsily) but instead just offer magic where necessary to encourage their wish along. But admittedly even this theory has holes but that’s just my attempt at making this ‘wishy washy’ plot better (lol couldn’t resist! 😝)
I also despise the "pLoT tWiSt" of Magnifico keeping the Wish's stored away, which A, was established in the _first fucking song,_ and B, Asha already knew. So her realizing this again creates a continuity error, because Disney sacrificed good storytelling for the sake of drama.
Throughout the entire movie I was a little confused, because I didn't really understand wishes. It'd be nice if they took just a couple moments to explain what exactly a wish is, why they're so important, and how powerful they are.

This movie COULD have been a new Disney classic if only they gave that script writing a few more months or something. Theirs clearly good ideas of how the magic works and how its meant to be used but the movie doesn't even fall short it face plants at the start and it goes down from their on. I watched this movie with a friend of mine and we both were loosing our minds at how bad everything was. To the point that we started to try and think of of alternate ways to change the plot and make it somewhat better lol
Honestly, I've only ever watched the movie through different film analyzing vids like these, but I'm really disappointed in Disney for what it turned out to be. The way the original story was supposed to go sounds SO much better than what they ended up doing, and I think it would've fixed all of these issues completely by replacing the star thing (?) with a star boy who perhaps was trapped in a form with limited powers. Also, the King and Queen would have BOTH been the villans, which would've made for an interesting dynamic sure (plus we've never seen a villan couple before in their movies), but it also would've given a bigger base to go off. Though, this is all just my opinion. Either way, this was a super well-thought out video and a good explanation of it's flaws! Keep it up! :D
This video just made me realise something else that doesn't make sense at all: so Saba gave up his wish when he was 18, which means the system has been well established 82 years prior to the event of the film. Assuming Magnifico would need more than 18 years of his life to eventually become a king and establish a kingdom, does this make him like 130+ yo or smth? How old is Amaya then? Sure maybe Magnifico's magic keeps him young, but does that mean 20-30 smth Amaya married an 80 yo guy?!
I think it could be an option, but since the grandfather is older than the king and people give their wishes at 18 or when they arrive in Rosas, it is most likely that he gave it to him when he was already old. And apparently the kingdom is not more than 3 decades old, so...
@@arianamontes-no5rj yeah, I'm pretty sure, by the way Saba is dressed, the movie is implying that he's an immigrant. The pins holding his cape has one with the insignia of Rosas and one with a completely different design. He gave up his wish after he had already lived his life without fulfilling it on his own. He probably thought "Eh, I'm already settled. I'll just toss in $5 to see if I win."
WOAH THERE DUDE! I totally agree that this movie is terrible. But you used the word Christian to describe the awful rock song...I'm a Christian and I can say without a doubt, NOTHING in that song was Christian. Unless, the joke you were trying to make was about how Christian rock songs can be repetitive...Yeah, I can't defend that. A lot of them are.😂
