Hey! Thank you for the amazing video/guide on this. Pretty impressive. How would a Mad Alchemist Laddle work with this for the endgame variant slammed with T7 mana/manaregen, T5/6 spell damage bonus and something else instead of the exalted wand in your endgame planner?
@cursefiery8490 you would lose damage, since the more dmg mod on mad alc ladle is for spell damage, and we are scaling damage over time. You can use it for crit/hit version of the build and it would work ok. GL!
@@maomaosgaming423 Thank you very much! Been playing this build for some time now and having a blast. Even the campaign leveling was a speedrun without actual gear.
Is maxroll lich leveling guide viable to get to where I need to for this build? I'm seriously considering that volatile zombie build you used. Shits and giggles sounds fun asf lol
umm i haven't checked the maxroll leveling recently but i'm sure it's fine. lich hasn't changed much since pre 1.0, and the leveling process hasnt' changed much for her either. :)
@sage0ne619 sorry I don't do loot filters, I'm not sure how the filter is if you download the one from lastepochtools.com based on the build planner. I do recommend you try to work one for yourself, it's very intuitive and you would be able to customize it to your liking, instead of not knowing how someone else created it. :) good luck! And thanks for the like/sub :) feel free to leave comment if you have additional questions
@jaroslawzacny6651 survivability is great, you just have to get use to playing lich and game mechanics and the limits depending on how well your gear is. I had this pushed up to 800corruption on soft core before reset. I'm playing ssf/hc this reset so I'm just playing around at 300 corruption to be safe. :) I havent played lock much so I can't comment too much on that.
@TheMarchewkowo you can try it if the additional click affects your hands, but yes you will lose dmg and also when you cast hungering souls in a direction, the lasers will follow your mouse pointer to where you cast the hungering souls, so if you spec aod, you won't be able to guide the laser direction either.
love this; stygian is a great way to make an ailment build work. Do you think any other ailments could be viable for stygian coal? Does it feel bad playing poison stygian when crit hit stygian damage output is so much higher?
@wanderdota poison is easier to gear than crit and damage is more than enough for all content with decent time, doesn't feel bad at all. In my opinion, for lich, poison is the only viable ailment for stygian, lock might have more support for others.
they should add shard bags that just either go into your inv as a bag so you can see what you got or just go straight to your shard storage and skip that step all together
@mrgreen497 yes, since the goblins will remain in the game, if you get multiple goblins spawns, your screen is literally 90% covered with shards lol. Ehg is prolly gathering data and feedback from community from this patch and hopefully make some changes to that.
@corerupt3389 harvest lich is viable, but it's really dated in the current state of LE and is going to feel bad against harbinger and Abby as damage is going to feel lackluster. I'd wait for 1.2 and hopefully there will be some lich updates! :) glad you're enjoying this build
@saikikdosntexist yes , no changes were made in 1.1.7. I just hit 100 in ssfhc. Made some changes to the build , you can check my profile to see the changes I made. I'll probably put up a short yt video this week for the updated build www.lastepochtools.com/planner/olwv90JB
Why do you have to have so much mana? I did the build and I don't see the need for so much mana, is there any skill that gives more damage based on mana or item?
Hi maomao just levelling this build im at level 53 and doing mono's and i have died every other mono ..... so a question for you whats your skill rotation and its my first time using death seal and im not really sure how to use it . Any help would be appreciated .
@twodogsprime962 you'd primarily want to deathseal when you are in reaper form, also you have to have life leech to sustain. It's more difficult early on since you don't have enough skill points , but you can put some points into life leech in warlock tree until you get to soul maw in lich tree, that will help alot. If you have a bleeding heart amulet, you can use that for leech until you get points into soul maw on top of lich tree. Besides that make sure you have your resistances worked out, critical strike avoidance cap (can just use woven flesh chest piece until you work out crit avoid or less crit damage taken gear). You will want to work on endurance to 60% as well , but early levels won't matter too much. Lastly work on hp when you can. Hope that helps!
@@maomaosgaming423 Awesome thank you so much , i have a woven flesh and the bleeding heart amulet so i will give those a try . Lastly how do i increase my damage ? . Thanks again and youve gained a sub .
@twodogsprime962 for this build you will mainly need int, mana primary and damage over time to scale damage. Check out my gear for the character link for an idea. Good luck!
Why do you use Death Seal? Also, why did you change Death Seal into physical damage through Corporeal Cascade? Wouldn't it be okay to use Aura of Decay instead of Death Seal?
@donghyukseo3445 for this crit build? Lich's defining characteristics are reaper form and death seal. Not sure what AoD would do for you in this build. There's people who like to use AoD as part of poison lich kit, but I'm not a fan of AoD. If you enjoy using AoD , then use what you enjoy playing :) also I turned DS to take advantage of physical penetration from node in reaper form. Don't really need to, it can be kept as necrotic.
Hey! I'm absolutely fascinated by this build and the Lich class! Would you mind making a detailed video explaining the build a little better, like what passives I should focus first, which nodes should I pick first, etc etc? Really great work, my man!
hi! glad you are interested in lich gameplay. as for this particular build, i have the planner in video description as what my gear setup was at the time of recording the video (definitely not optimal but its what i had at the time). The main skills and items that enable this to work is having volatile zombie experimental affix on belt (doesnt matter tier, can be tier 1 and its fine), having the Cruelty relic, and speccing how I have the volatile zombie and sacrifice spec'd. I dont think i'm going to be making a video on this because it's pretty gimmicky and it's almost guaranteed that it won't be around in next patch 1.2. Check the planner and if there is something specific you have a question on, feel free to leave a comment. :)
@@maomaosgaming423 thank you for your answer! I was able to get a 4LP cruelty and a 3LP jungle queen belt. Could you recommend other afixes that would benefit the build to slam them? In the planner it only has one extra afix each
@lilycarvalho3556 3lp jungle belt you would want VZ experimental affix, T6/t7 cdr OR t6/t7 hybrid health. Cruelty you would want probably t7 crit multiplier and t5 spell crit chance or int, suffixes will be used to fill whatever resist you may be needing to cap, or endurance if you need that, or health. Actually instead of t7 crit multi, you may want to get a t7 suffix to make it easier for you to cap your endurance or resistance. These are just dependant on what you get on rest of your gear. Good luck!
@alpertungaelgun9671 it works for the hit portion of the laser, so if you do crit lasers it works and you would want to spec it. Doesn't work for the poison/ailments though.
It's tough to level once you get the node in Drain Life that disables leech. Especially since you also lose a lot of Ward from switching to Stygian Coal. Ofc you get some ward gen while channeling Drain Life, but standing still is arguably even more dangerous in an ARPG than running around naked. I'm guessing it normalizes again once you get Soul Maw for leech or something?
@ytubestolemyhandle at what level are you using stygian and what content are you doing? It's totally not necessary for leveling, just go around and spirit plague and wandering spirits for leveling. You can use a bleeding heart if you have one for the purpose of leech while leveling if you find yourself having a hard time. But yes once you get soul maw then it will feel alot better. You can also put a few points into leech in warlock passive as well.
@@maomaosgaming423 bosses, especially those without trash mobs to dilute Wandering Spirits targeting, burn REALLY fast. Trash still burns me a lot because my gear sucks and I can't afford guild prices (popular builds make for terribly pricey equipment). I'm still trying to get my defences in the right place and the teleporting, ambushing trash mobs of act 9 are tearing me a new one each time I stop paying attention for a second. I shored up the leech somewhat with an affix on my chest for now but it only works while transformed so I have a real chance of dying as soon as my reaper form ends :D I'll see when I grind some more levels. I'm only at Contagion Engine now.
@ytubestolemyhandle what level are you currently and how much hp do you have, how's your resistances and defenses looking? You shouldn't need much gear for leveling really. No need to buy anything from the market, or you can do with no lp no cost uniques even.
@@maomaosgaming423 as usual I have zero luck with gear so in act9 I'm still using some items I crafted literally in act 1 (mainly 1 ring, helmet and gloves) and I really need to replace them fast because I'm at barely 43% ele resist and a paltry 24% phys res. Though as I said, most mobs aren't really a problem in these levels anymore, just the teleporting assassins in ac9 have a bad habit of shadowstepping behind you the moment they come up on the screen and with my int being still just in the fifties they sometimes don't get killed fast enough not to get a slice in. It will sort itself out with more gear. It's not even hafl as bad as leveling a charged Puncture Marskman (aka the archer archetype) which gets torn a new one in this act with all the teleporters slashing at your back the moment you try charging Puncture :D WIth this build, if mobs try to swarm you, it just makes it easier as the poison nova from warlock passives activates and literally kills the whole screen in a second. Also I'm still at guild level 5 so I can't buy exalts (which requires lvl 6), and not a whole lot of ppl are selling yellows in the market... I was able to find a dinky belt to have more frequent access to potions but that was about it. And looking at idols, it was like 80-150k for the lowest of rolls so I didn't even bother, don't have enough gold to splurge on that so I'll have to wait to grind in monos later today when I'm done with the rest of act 9.
@ytubestolemyhandle you can actually start monos without finishing act 9. Probably better to just go straight to monos now and go back later to finish campaign if you feel like it. Typically I stop campaign at act 7 after I unlock all idol slots and passive points, no real reason to continue campaign. Good luck with farm. I would just craft on gear to max out your resists, don't even have to be good gear, just things to get by for max res to start.
@ySoCerealx that's just the rolls I had, it's mainly for the suffixes to get the crit and endurance caps. The planner is for the gear I had on at time of kill, it's not an ideal perfect gear planner. I would put crit chance and int or spell or phys dmg if I had a choice.
@mrtendollarman6157 well it's not sacrifice that's game breaking, it's the experimental affix that enables it to do absurd amounts of dmg. Necro does even more dmg with their setup and abusing the affix. But yes not many lich enjoyers this patch I agree.
Can confirm lich is absolute trash. Even a one-shot meme build doesn't make it worth playing (spoilers falconer has like eight abaroyh ready trash gear builds right off the bat.) Why would you ever play Lichfield when warlock is one click away and 100000x better
@@ShookOnesTO im swapping between jungle queens and exalted osprean belt. dont' need jungle queens for mapping. volatile zombie experimental affix drops from exiled mage only, so you will have to farm him for a chance of getting the affix.
Hey maomao, been following this build and loving it. Currently level 85. I just have a question about your planner regarding skills n passives - the passives in your video are a bit different from the planner especially in the acolyte tree (you dont max out bone aura in the planner and you take the potion ward thing) and some small differences in lich tree as well. Regarding the skills you explained in the video why you chose the damage nodes in reaper skill tree over the poison ones at the bottom during this video so thats fine. Regarding the passives - which would be better to follow? I am following the tree as shown in your video for now :)
@roshansoma for acolyte tree you can go either way, the planner I went the route of getting the 5/5 node for poison/necrotic resist mainly for if you get knocked out of reaper form, you still have some poison res. For reaper form, taking damage nodes instead of poison chance nodes is better damage output at higher levels when you have good amount of poison chance on gear. Lower levels you would want poison chance instead. Glad you're enjoying the build!
@maomaosgaming423 thank you for the prompt response. Really loved your other video today with the volatile zombies too xD. Did you play this build until you got the gear for zombies in a natural progression sort of way? Or did you only switch to zombies for boss 1shots
@@roshansoma I played stygian for a bit to clear pinnacle and try the new stuff for a bit, then I wanted to try the new cruelty relic and ended up with the minion one shot after farming the gear with the stygian build.
Update: Destroyed Abby with this build really easily, super tanky and easy to play. Have a question regarding Rip Blood tho - wouldn't it be better to take a curse like Bone Curse over rip blood for more damage to cursed enemies? Because I don't feel mana is an issue (I've really good gear similar to your planner, MG makes it easy) given that you stagger your drain life casts to preserve it plus you can get mana back from the Infusing Souls node + affix on belt etc. It would be awesome if you could guide me to a "high end" 3LP and 4LP variant just to see if I can push this build to it's max capabilities. It's an awesome build you've made. Let me know if I should share my planner or something or I can join you on twitch when you stream in the chat and send it there :)
@roshansoma bone curse does nothing for this build because we are scaling poison dot dmg. Rip blood allows you to repeatedly drop drain life's while you spam rip blood to gain mana back. If you are staggering the drain life out and not repeatedly dropping it while spamming Rip blood then you can sub it in for something else like spirit plague for the utility, or even transplant, that's kinda up to you. No real need for Rip blood when mapping, it's literally used mainly for high health mobs and bosses. 3 to 4lp you can just use to either get more exalted int/mana/dot dmg on gear or if you are looking for suffixes, just make sure you get all your res/crit/endurance cap and then go all in on hp if you still have open affixes. Gj on Abby :)
Great guide I have one question. which of the 2 links you provided is the correct passive tree? They are totally different? Which one do you req for final? My guess is the the leveling one is just until you have the stygian coal and swap to the end game skills then you follow the other passive tree?
@Jay-rd8mj the leveling setup I recommend using until you reach level 70 or so, main reason is you will probably not have enough points or the gear early on to sustain dark shackles node in drain life. You can run drain life as channeled if you get stygian early and just use it only when you get to like a Echo miniboss or high health mobs. Wandering spirits and spirit plague alone will carry you into empowered monos without too much of a problem. Just make sure you get poison overload in warlock tree asap.
@@maomaosgaming423 so I'm level 94 and the build is fun. But the damage is really low vs harbingers, I can walk through almost any other content but vs them they just dont die before i get killed. I obviously dont have the chest piece from the final boss which i think is making it very hard for me to survive and tank so i can stack high poison what do you suggest in its place until i can get my hands on one? Also what is the biggest damage scaling stat for this build?
@Jay-rd8mj how much hp do you have, are you resist capped mostly and endurance capped, and crit capped ? The chest piece is a nice to have but not a must have, I would use a revenant chest piece base if I wasn't using Abby chest with int/mana prefix and hp%/hp as suffixes. You want revenant helm and citadel boots to get 100% less dmg crit dmg taken, since you want the poison chance blessing from emperor timeline. You are scaling int for the frequency of the beam, and mana as well, and damage over time(or poison dmg if it rolls instead of DoT). Those are the 3 main prefixes you want for scaling dmg. What corruption are you doing that you feel the harbingers are taking a while?
@@maomaosgaming423 so i have 2554 hp 717 mana res cap on everything except cold @48% lightning 65% and void 57% haven't gotten a better blessing roll for that one yet. my endurance is only 35% and im 90% damage reduce from crits my int is at 70 i have the psn chance at 59% and total psn chance over 200 outside of reaper and death seal i was at 200 corruption and id get the harb to about half health then miss a dodge or something get taken out of reaper and then just kite until i die but that was after a decent length of time their health just drops so slow especially the ward. I'll try and find some int and mana to scale a bit as well as look for more dot/psn damage my ammy is really bad rn so thats something i can improve. There is just such a stark difference in my kill power vs harbs and anything else in the game.
@Jay-rd8mj I would try to get that endurance worked on, it's a big part of dmg mitigation for ds lich. Did you take the poison chance nodes in lich tree up top? That'll give you over 100% poison chance. It looks like you can work on getting more int on your gear. It will be much smoother once you get your gear sorted out, so something to look forward to working on! GL
@jannikwinkelmann2050 the order that it's in the planner. You won't get access to spirit plague until you have 15 points into base acolyte, start with wandering spirits at lvl 4. Then you can use whatever for 2nd skill for a few levels, and then get spirit plague once you have 15 points into the base acolyte passive tree. There's progression slider on the planner as well. Hope that helps!
@FTORanger the planner for leveling does not have gear, but the skills and passives are there with progression slider. Gear is whatever you get while leveling. For the first build planner link, it looks to be fine when I checked just now. Hope you enjoy the build!
@Head0Shot blessings for crit build would mainly just be Critical Strike Multi blessing from Black Sun timeline. All other timelines you would just get defensives mainly depending on what gear you have, and work blessings into it.
