New to LE and rolled a lich on a whim while leveling, currently 80 and following maxrolls harvest crit lich. Still learning the endgame and collecting the proper gear, but I find the health leech so fast and unforgiving when I need like a sec to loot or find a new pack, lol.
I just came back to LE and only really played sentinels before. I started a lich and immediately noticed the bone curse aura and blood rip interactions but at level 30 I still don't have the points to do it. Happy to have found this video and see that it has some viability.
Was waiting for an update on this build. It is still my favorite for pushing high corruption. Thanks a lot Mao! BC aura variant looks fun and refreshing.
I have my concerns. Thanks for the video, I know it takes a lot of effort. But I tried playing Death seal and I just couldn't keep my Reaper form... any damage would destroy me. That's why I'm playing Chaos bolt + Harvest + Wards now... Can you show gameplay on a corrupted monolith with reasonable gear? xD I appreciate it anyways!
Can you not take the illusion of pain node for guaranteed crits on bone curse? It frees up a lot of passive/skill/gear slots. I know it's 1 crit and can't be used with minions or group play but you can always despec that node when playing with friends. You don't seem to use minions anyways. Do you not reapply fast enough? Nvm it says the nodes aren't compatbile. You can only do this with cursed grounds as cursed limbs has a 1 second delay between reapplying and the goal is to keep triggering bone curse multiple times a second. The 6 second cooldown would suck or mobs moving out of the area. I'm not sure if you can reapply fast enough either. The damage conversion node is actually really interesting. I think I'm learning a lot since I guess bone curse just does physical damage from the skill itself AND necrotic damage from the wand not getting converted to physical so it becomes a split damage spell? I had just assumed it didn't do anything.
Love the video. Learned a lot and was sad to hear no leveling guide yet. Looking forward to an update. Appreciate your vast knowledge and great content!
I was gonna comment and ask you about how to stop stunning myself with Bone Curse Aura, but it looks like they fixed that in todays patch (Can't stun yourself, specifically calls out the BC Aura node). So I will ask this instead- how come we don't convert Rip Blood to Necrotic?
If you are taking the warlock passives to get bleed overload to proc rip blood, you need to cast a physical skill. If you are not planning to take those passive points and just use those points in lich tree then you can convert to necrotic if you want. Rip blood is mainly used for the dmg ramp from the global spell flat and to get your mana back. Converting it to necrotic doesnt really have much benefit, and you can allocate that point into cast speed instead. This is up to the player to make that decision.
@@maomaosgaming423 but why we are using Marina's Lost Soul then? Sure, it gives lots of % increase to spell and curse damage, but it's implicit is a flat necrotic spell damage. Shouldn't it be better to use flat spell damage wand?
@nurvan1000 alot of the damage is coming from death wave in deathseal, and marinas will give 10% more dmg to death wave since it gives you damn stacks on yourself. Also the rip blood spell flat dmg is global, so it benefits all spell damage types regardless if its necrotic or phys. Again the big chunks of dmg is still coming from deathseal/deathwaves, everything else is supplementary.
@@maomaosgaming423 Roger dat, thank you :) What is it, that will reduce the damage I take from my own hits? The damage I deal to myself will be ever-increasing :D
@Daskard you will outleech any dmg you are taking from the self bonecurse. Also bonecurse debuff will do nothing to you unless you get hit by a bunch of mobs at once.
New to the game- and man I have a dumb question. Why Harvested Legions to summon Skeletons? Just curous why we want the minions vs extra leech in Survival of the Cruel or just more damage in Grasp of Fate. Thanks man, learniing a lot from your videos.
Is it viable with harvest instead of rip blood? in that case what weapon would best fit? Bone curse aura does no damage at all by it self. Literally, 19 damage ticks.
If you are using harvest and scaling harvest damage , you would not use bone curse as damage, it would just be utitlity for armor shred , mark of death, and the 12% culling.
Need really good gearing for Harvest, and performance is mediocre unfortunately, relative to the amount of gearing you need that is. You won't be doing bone curse aura for harvest for sure. The setup is the same for Deathseal, Reaper, Transplant you would take bone armor route instead of dmg since you won't be scaling spell dmg. Bone curse would be standard setup, and Harvest you will just get nodes for crit/and multi to the left side of the tree mainly. The playstyle is literally the same since it's midrange anyway. With gearing it'll do 500 corruption probably just fine.
@@maomaosgaming423 Thank you, Harvest looks very beautiful in terms of animation, but after trying it instead of Ripblood Harvest, I realized I'll always be out of mana. I'm still far from corruption, I'm on the third chapter. And I'm curious, will the Warlock passive skills that cast Ripblood use its skill tree? Obviously, the buff to spell damage is not there, but what about the rest?
@@maomaosgaming423 I tested this synergy. this does not work. The aura DOES NOT cast Rip blood after 4 hit time out because aura reapply's the curse which disallows you to use rip blood. it seems like this was an unintended feature and was patched out.
@@maomaosgaming423 Level 92. 21% armor, 1600 hp, Most resistances maxed. Physical is maxed. Do I need Crit Avoidance? It seems like when I put that aura on I'm getting hit for double or something.
@@Italianslugger Yes, after resistance cap, you want to work on either Crit Avoidance or Reduced dmg taken from critical strike. It's easier to just go with a t6 crit avoidance suffix on ring and get the Crit avoidance blessing from Emperor timeline. However, end game, it's better to go the route for reduced dmg from crit and take the all res blessing from Emperor. Then I would recommend working on HP, you should aim for at least 2500 HP which will be good for up to 300 corruption. Assuming you are crit capped, res capped, Endurance should be at 60% or close to that. Those 3 things you should work on, if you are finding that you are dying alot. GL
Death Seal will be weaker as less Lich Nodes are taken, so does bone curse aura damage compensate for that much dps? It should be stronger than the bone curse damage of the standard build. If so, is it an advantage that it is more convenient than the standard build?
As mentioned in the video, the 20 points in warlock tree is optional as it provides additonal hit of rip blood per second and some flat spell curse dmg and some increased necrotic dmg. The tradeoff for these 20 points may not be much of a difference in overall dmg, but if you are talking strict death wave dmg, then it will be marginally less deathwave damage. T4 Julra is the only measure i can roughly use to test both builds with same gear and see which one is faster and the aura is slightly faster by a few seconds. But since its only a few seconds that may also just be me not playing the same for both trials. I wanted to do the aura build showcase so people can try it out as an alternative and it may also spark some interest in creating something else with the tech. :)
All the builds should be able to push 600 corruption comfortably with proper gearing. Just depends on which playstyle you prefer. Though with aura, you just turn it on at the beginning of echo and kinda dont have to cast it again, whereas standrad setup you will have to manual cast bonecurse. Comes down to preference :)
Its pretty much the same for the standard crit rip blood spec. All the builds with same gear will perform roughly the same since main component is deathseal, it'll just depend on how comfortable you are with the playstyle.
Here's a couple of clips from my stream for 350+ corruption stuff, enjoy! clips.twitch.tv/AbnegateCrunchyGoblinHeyGirl-FuxhoFNtswfM1yvX - clips.twitch.tv/AnimatedProtectiveTildeRickroll-QNdn3lbuQfzDrxAA
Its fine for hc, i wouldn't spec it until i get endgame and have somewhat decent gear. Not recommedned for leveling campaign, and early monos. Probably after you are comfortable in empowered monos and have a decent cast speed of like 80+
I made a SC character as well in parallel contest it out. Loving it so far specialized in rip, bone curse, and reaper form so far first. I think I’ll be alright I play conservativally when learning a build
Yes, it's fine in HC, but you will have to gear properly and have some experience with deathseal. It's alot about knowing your limits when playing in HC, so if you haven't played any Deathseal lich prior, it might not be that easy to get the hang of, and might cause some rips in HC.
Yes, you can do mana stacking build with Stygian. They said they "fixed" the nodes in yesterday's patch, but it seems like its still not working properly. Feels like its not doing anything for crit. Its ok for poison overload build though. I dont have proper gear for it, if and when i do get it, ill see if i can make a video on it
@@maomaosgaming423 the node Acute Infliction in Bone Curse does not seems to work. I hit a lot but the Bone Curse did not fall off to trigger Crimson Enlightenment. Can you do some tests and confirm it for me? Thanks.
@akshayak9862 going ghostflame will just be a different build entirely. I'm not a fan of channeling movement skills, but ghostflame lich is a viable build.
You have a planner of gear you are currently running? You should not be having issues at 170 unless you are severely undergeared. I can take a look if you want to share.
